"I challenge you to a race, grandpa."
⚡⚡⚡

-C O R Y-

Dylan squeezed me in a gut wrenching hug when he first saw my distorted figure hobble through the door way. I was hanging by the ends of Allen and Cisco's shoulders with a look of all things deadly.

And my wound was still open.

You'd think an ambulance would have something to help. Apparently most of it's content was out to accommodate a police officer at the scene who was supposedly hurt.

"Stop getting blood on my suit!" My head whipped to Cisco. If I wasn't in the amount of pain I'm in now I would laugh but laughing is painful So instead I kicked his shin.

Dylan guided me along with Caitlin to yet another gurney.

The florescent lights bleed into my eyes.
"I need scissors." Caitlin frantically roamed her cabinets for.

"What do you need those for?"

"To cut the suit open..."

Cisco's eyes widened. "No no no no no-"

"Cisco!"

-B A R R Y-

I couldn't stand being In there for another second. As petty as It sounds, watching Cory's comatose body lay against the gurney as Dr. Wells prods her shoulder with tweezers and drills-because as I've been told, the bullet broke into several more pieces- made me queasy.

It's strange as I've seen worse things.
Way worse.

Either way, the lack of sassy and sarcastic comments is beginning to bug me. I didn't think something that annoying would.

It's been nearly half an hour and even Cisco along with Dylan were quiet. It would've been silent enough to head a pin drop but Cisco occupied himself by trying to balance an Oreo he stole from Cory on his nose. Caitlin? She was in the other room with Harrison, playing as his lovely nurse.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say S.T.A.R Labs hasn't been this lackluster since Cory's been in a coma.

"She's gonna be okay...right?" Dylan balled up his hands and breathed into them shakily and looked to Cisco.

In response he nodded causing the cookie to fall and break, "Of course. She's in the hands of Wells. Everything will be fine."

"Technically speaking, Wells is the reason she's in this mess."

I don't think he was talking about the bullet wound... more like everything in general. But Cisco looked to care less because he was too busy sulking over the cookies crumbs.

My brows scrunched and I couldn't help but scratch at my temple for a moment. Remembering The look on Cory's face when our suits were brought out showed she didn't know Dylan knew of her powers-whatever it is. That'd obviously mean she didn't tell him. So who did?

"Hey Dylan, how'd you know Cory can do what she does?"

His head snapped to me, like he just remembered my presence in the room. I almost get the vibe that he doesn't like me. He keeps it to himself quietly but not enough for me to get the subtle hint.

"Caitlin. She blabs when she's nervous." Responses short and stiff. I could practically feel the hatred radiating my way.

A monotone beeping bounced off the walls. At first I thought it was Cory's heart monitor. But her heart rate is as slow as molasses and if she were dying that wouldn't be the sound an EMP makes.

Dylan glanced down at his wrist watch. "Oh great. I'm gonna be late for work." He grabbed his satchel that slouched by the computer monitors and swiftly swung it on his shoulders. "Call me when Cory's feeling better, yeah?" It was directed at Cisco, not me.

"Can't you call out of work this one time?" My eyes narrowed. "Cory wouldn't be too happy to know you were gone. I mean-you are her boyfriend."

I was shocked in myself for the amount of venom I used. It didn't seem like me. Sure, something about this guy ticked me off. But I'm a person known to take the high road. I'm not the jealous type.

Dylan clicked his tougne and turned his head, seemingly sizing me up and down with judging eyes.

"I've already taken a week off when I thought Cory died in the explosion. Anymore days and my boss will have my ass." His face scrunched into one of disgust. "Why am I telling you this- I don't have to answer to you."

He flicked me off as if I wasn't worthy of his attention. Not like I wanted it anyway.

Tch, jerk.

"Call me." Dylan reminded Cisco before leaving. But not before a throwing a icy glare my way.

Why is it that every girl I come to like already has a boyfriend. I give up on entire social interaction with humans.

Yep, love is overrated.

"Asshole." I muttered beneath my breath once I'm sure he's out of ear shot. Better yet- out of the building.

Cisco, noticing my obvious distress, placed a hand on my shoulder. "I'm guessing after...whatever it is that just happened, you're not leaving...are you?"

I shrugged. "How can I?" I don't have anything on my agenda right now. I'm not needed at work and even if I was that's the last place I wanna go. I haven't exactly gotten the chance to talk with Joe after last night with Cory shot and everything. But I know he has questions.

"Well in that case...", Cisco rushed over to his desk I suppose and nearly yanked a drawer out of it's place.

"Movie marathon!"

As soon as those words spilled out, all hell break loose

⚡⚡⚡

-C O R Y-

I never imagined the day would come when I finally say these words, besides the days I'll be on my death bed of course, I am sick and tired of sleeping.

At one point I was dreaming of having a candle lit dinner on a beach with my boyfriends Dave Franco and Thomas Sangster. But then my mind got lazy and I ended up with nothing to dream about. Just me. In an inky and endless abyss of darkness.

How did I ever survive nine months of sleep?

"All the pieces are taken care of now," said a voice with an edge of roughness to it. "We're lucky the wound didn't heal with everything inside her still."

"Yeah I guess we are." What the hell does Caitlin mean I guess.

"Damn, Caty. Kill me now while you have the chance." My voice was so damaged the words barely made it past my lips. But being Caitlin of course she didn't seem to notice. Instead she did the same thing when I woke up out of a coma. Squeal and hug the living crap outta me. Disregarding my shoulder in general.

Wells simply sat to the side-because what else was he suppose to do, stand- and slowly slipped off a pair of doctor gloves and grinned mischievously like the little ass he is.

He could help me pry Caitlin off but he choses not too. "Gosh if I'm not dead yet your surely sending me to my grave." Finally with no help whatsoever I peeled Caitlin's jittery figure away.

Taking a micro second to look around my surroundings I realized something. "Where is everyone?"

"They're in the opposite room. Mr. Allen nearly vomited at the sight of your blood." The devil in a wheelchair spoke.

"And I'm guessing Cisco's with him?" Caitlin nodded. "Welp, I guess should go ruin lives now." My hands shakily gripped the gurney as I neared myself towards the edge.

Cait scoffed with a heavy roll of her eyes. "Oh please, those two were complaining the entire time. Trust me You'd be blessing their presence right now. But I can't blame them, its been unusually quite with you asleep."

Feeling a gentle smile grace my lips I hugged Caitlin's waist with the same amount of force she collided me into no longer than five minutes ago. Only difference is she didn't mind.

"Guys," I wasn't even sure if anyone could hear me as my lovely voice was already jacked and it was muffled in Caitlin's trench coat seeing as I made no attempt to move. Wells and Caitlin hummed in response.

"Did Dylan come by? I don't remember seeing him in the ambulance with us."

My only answer was a unknowing shrug. "Most likely. He might even be waiting for you with the others."

Cait pryed me away to leave and retrieved a wheelchair identical to Harrison's from the far corner of the room. But there's no use for it; I got shot in the arm, not the leg.

"Oh please this is...unnecessary," Cait almost dismissed it blantaly until I grabbed hold. "But if you insist." My laugh was the reason everyone's eyes rolled simultaneously.

"Well since I very well instisted, Come on. Up and Adams." Those words and a pat on the back weren't even close to inspirational. I mean what does Caitlin have to be grumpy about, her first mistake was asking.

Once I was settled I smiled towards Wells. More like a murderous grin perhaps.

"I bet you I can make it there faster."

"That's nice Ms. Franta but I presume that statement incorrect."

Why does every sentence that spills from his mouth have to be so overly complicated and formal?

"Oh really. In that case, I challenge you to a race grandpa." With that being said I pumped both wheels as hard as I could, looking like a dumb idiot nonetheless. Wells looked unfazed and he has a right to since he's presumably been doing this for nine months give or take.

I really didn't think this through. But in defense of my ego I'll say Wells at this moment is eating my dust. Crap, My blocky figure was already down the hallway for that matter.

"Wrong way!"

"I knew that!"
