Scary-oke-Final
A moment later, they transported inside the shack. Bill blinked, hearing violent banging from the front door.
"Pine Tree, why did you take us here!?" The blond yelled.
Dipper panted, sweat beaded down his forehead. "I'm sorry, I panicked."
"It's alright," Will reassured. "Can you defeat the zombies?"
"I'm sorry, but that's impossible," Dipper said, gravely. "They're already dead. Even if we attack them with everything we have, more will keep coming."
"Are you sure these guys don't have some kind of weakness?" Bill asked.
"They did have one weakness, but it's been centuries since zombies last attacked, and no one can remember what it is," The male brunette said.
"Ford would probably know," Mabel suggested, nodding towards the journal, that Will was holding.
"Will, this is your mess, it's time for you to fix it," Bill snapped.
Will nodded, and opened the book on the zombie page. He scanned the paragraph, and frowned.
"There's nothing in here about weaknesses!" Will exclaimed, in dismay.
Crash!
The four turned, and saw the corpses crawling through the smashed windows. More then broke down the front door, and joined the rest of their brethren. Dipper and Mabel immediately went into attack mode, and casted a variety of spells at the living dead. Unfortunately, this didn't slow the horde down, as more arrived shortly after the other ones perished. Bill lit his hand on fire, and blasted a column of flames at the monsters. They were fried to a crisp, and crumbled to the floor, only to be replaced by new arrivals.
Will was shocked, as he noticed that Bill didn't seem to be pain when summoning his fire, like he usually was. Will wanted to ask about that, but he knew it wasn't the time.
There was a loud crash, and the group assumed it to be more zombies, but to their surprise, Wendy came barreling through the horde. The redhead surged through, while chopping the heads off of the unsuspecting zombies, so she could stand before her friends.
"Wendy!" Will exclaimed, in relief.
Wendy didn't respond immediately, tossing a look at the crowd of corpses. "Do I even want to ask what happened here?"
"Probably not," Bill said.
A zombie darted towards Wendy, but the redhead managed to slice it in half before it could touch her. "Quickly, upstairs!"
The others obeyed, and together, they slashed through the horde so they could make it to the stairs. Once they arrived there, Will screamed when he felt a cold hand grasped on his neck. He turned, felt sheer horror, when a zombie dived at him with it's jaws open. Thankfully, Wendy leaped in front of Will to shield him at the last second. However, this resulted in the zombie biting her in the shoulder.
"Wendy!" Will screamed, in distress.
Immediately, the effects began, as Wendy's skin turned a withered green and her eyes glowed white. She turned to the group, with a blank expression.
"Red, please tell me you're still in there," Bill said, nervously.
Wendy shrugged. "Sorry guys, but on second thought...you mind if I eat your brains?"
"Yes, we do mind!" Dipper yelled back.
"Uh, sorry Dipper, couldn't hear you," Wendy replied. Then, she jumped at them, with her teeth bared.
Will dodged her attack, and joined the others, as they ran towards the attic. At the top of the staircase, there stood Gompers. Once Will reached him, he grabbed the animal in his arms, and prepared to enter the attic with the others. Behind him, there were the groans from zombies, but then there was a large crash. Surprised, Will turned and saw the big grandfather clock that stood near the attic, rolling down the stairs, crushing zombies in it's wake. He didn't remember anyone pushing it, but left that mystery unsolved, as he rushed into the attic with the others.
The door was slammed close behind him, and both Mabel and Dipper blocked the entrance with any heavy object that they could find. Meanwhile, Gompers was wiggling in Will's grip, before abruptly jumping out of the boy's arms, also causing Will to drop the journal he had been holding. Bill was looking through the window, with a worried expression.
"The shack is surrounded," He said, gravely. "I don't think we'll make it out of here in one piece."
Will started pacing the room, as panic swelled up in him. "This is all my fault! I should've never called those agents. Now, we're stuck here because of me..."
"Don't say that," Mabel told him. "We'll find a way out. Maybe, the journal--"
"There's nothing in the journal!" Dipper snapped, though, it came out angrier than intended. "In fact, that damn book got us into this mess in the first place!"
Mabel gave him a look of frustration. "Dipper, I know you're still mad at Ford, but the journal could be our only option now."
"Will already checked, Mabel," The male brunette reminded. "There's nothing in it about how to defeat zombies."
"He's right," Will said, in defeat. "The journal can't help us. I'm so sorry, guys..."
The blue haired boy sank to the ground, hugging his knees to his chest. Will closed his eyes, hoping to make the whole world disappear, when he felt something nudge him. He opened his eyes, to see Gompers chewing on a black light.
"Gompers, this isn't an appropriate time to destroy objects," Will chided, taking the light from the goat.
As he did, however, the light shined on the journal, which had opened when it fell. Will blinked, when he saw the pages glow, and white ink appear. He held the black light closer to the journal, and was amazed to see it revealed hidden notes in each chapter.
"What in the haystack?" Mabel gasped.
"Invisible ink," Dipper breathed, in realization. "That must be how Ford's been hiding so many secrets!"
Bill's eyes widened, and for some strange reason, tossed a glare at Gompers.
Thinking fast, Will flipped the pages until reaching the one about zombies. He shined the light on it. "Here! I found the solution," He said, then started reading out loud. "Previously thought to be invincible, zombies do have a weakness, their skulls can be shattered by a perfect four part harmony."
"Four part harmony?" Dipper repeated, in confusion. "How do we manage that?"
"I have an unnaturally high pitched scream," Will suggested.
"I was told that my maniacal laugh could scare the skin off somebody," Bill said. "Granted, these things don't have skin, more like rotten shreds of green jerky taped together, but it's close."
Mabel cleared her throat, gaining their attention. She had a wide smile on her face. "Gentlemen, I think you're missing the obvious answer."
"What?" Bill questioned. Then, once realizing, he groaned. "Oh no..."
❇❇❇
A while later, the four were standing on the roof of the shack, with a karaoke machine placed beside them. Zombies swarmed below them, and Mabel turned on the mic, the noise catching their attention.
"Zombies and gentlemen!" Mabel announced, from the roof. "I'm Mabel, this is Dipper, Will, and Bill. And together, we're Love Patrol Alpha!"
"I still didn't agree to that name," Bill said, into his microphone.
The living corpses immediately attempted to climb up the shack. The group looked down worryingly, then Mabel quickly picked out the song of choice, and the lyrics flashed on the screen.
"You ready, guys?" She smiled.
"Mabel, our lives might not be worth this," Dipper remarked, bluntly.
"Shut up, and let the music take over," Mabel told him.
Music started streaming from the karaoke machine, and Bill held up his mic, and sang the first lines.
"Friday night, we're gonna party til' dawn. Don't worry, Daddy, I've got my favorite dress on!?" Bill put a hand over his mic, and remarked to Mabel. "At this point, I prefer getting eaten."
Mabel ignored him, and sang the next line. "Roll in to the party, the boys are lookin' our way, we just keep dancing, we don't care what they say! And all the boys--AH!"
She screamed, when a zombie popped up in front of her. Fortunately, Dipper pulled her out of harm's way, and kicked the monster off the roof.
"Guys, we have to sing together or it won't work!" Mabel told them.
Dipper nodded, then sang the words off the screen. "Boys are a bore. Let's show em' the door."
"We're taking over the dance floor!" Will sang.
The group smiled at each other, before singing together. "Oh-oh! Girls do what we like! Oh-oh, we're taking over tonight!"
Immediately, the zombies started shaking. It didn't take long, before some of their heads exploded, spilling the contents everywhere. Seeing this, made the four grow some confidence, and they continued.
"Oh-oh! Girls do what we like! Oh-oh! We're taking over tonight! Oh-oh! Girls do what we like! Oh-oh! We're taking over tonight! WE'RE QUEENS OF THE DISCO!" They sang, resulting in more zombies collapsing.
"It's working, keep singing!" Mabel exclaimed.
"Oh-oh! Girls do what we like!" Dipper sang, flashing Bill a smile as they did the next verse together "Oh-oh! We're taking over tonight!"
"Taking over tooniiiight!" Will sang the last verse, but then screamed, when a zombie popped up.
"I got it!" Mabel said, before swinging the karaoke machine at it's head.
It fell off the roof, and that was when they noticed the undead horde were now all collapsed on the ground.
"Yes! We did it!" Bill smiled.
"Now, that the danger is cleared," Dipper started, before shooting a stern look at Will. "Mind explaining why you raised the dead in the first place?"
Will blinked, then bowed his head in shame. "I called those agents over, because I thought they would know about...something. But, when they didn't believe me, I wanted to prove to them and..." He didn't continue.
Dipper looked at him with sympathy, but then his stern expression returned. "Will, what you did was extremely reckless. The journal is strictly used for defense only. I am very disappointed in you."
Will avoided his gaze, and looked at his feet in despair.
"In his defense, this was also partially my fault."
They turned towards Bill, and Dipper stared at him. "What are you talking about?"
Bill had an unreadable expression. "It's better if I showed you..."
❇❇❇
The four stared at the pile of papers on the floor, that had been pulled out from under Bill's mattress. Dipper scanned the blueprints, with his brow furrowed.
"So, you were trying to figure out the blueprint on your own?" The brunette said, recounting everything from what Bill had explained to them.
Bill nodded, his lips thinned nervously.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Mabel noted.
The blond sighed. "I guess, I wanted to make myself useful. It's not fair, that you two have to be burdened with all of these mysteries your uncle left behind, I thought I could help."
Will felt relieved knowing that Bill wasn't getting into anything dangerous, but then a rush of guilt crashed over him.
"Thank you, Bill, I appreciate it," Dipper smiled. "If you want, you can continue trying to decipher the blueprint. If you find anything, let me know."
"Of course, Pine Tree," Bill replied.
"I guess, we should start disposing of those corpses," Dipper said.
Mabel nodded in agreement. "Not to mention, we have to cure Wendy."
"Definitely," The male brunette said, then regarded his sister wearily. "You did restrain her, right?"
"Yep," Mabel said. "Though, I couldn't find any rope like you requested, so I had to rely on confetti strips instead."
Dipper's eyes widened. "Holy Axolotl--"
He was interrupted, when Wendy burst into the attic, wielding her axe. The group screamed, but then Dipper leaped at her. Somehow, he managed to pin her to the floor, while also batting the weapon out of her hand.
"C'mon! You totally ruined my cool entrance," Wendy complained.
"Let's get you cured," Dipper sighed, then began to drag the zombified redhead out. "It's gonna take a lot of formaldehyde."
"And cinnamon," Mabel added, following her brother.
Wendy groaned, as the Guardians dragged her out of the attic. After they left, the Cipher twins were alone. Bill was currently giving Will a serious look, which made the blue haired boy nervous.
"Will, I'm sorry for not telling you sooner," Bill said. "It's not even that big of a deal, I don't know why I kept it a secret."
"It's okay," Will said. "I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. There's definitely no excuse for raising the dead..."
"Even though, it was kinda cool," Bill replied.
Will chuckled. "Yep, but mostly terrifying."
Bill nodded in agreement, and then said. "Will, despite everything, I meant what I said earlier. There are things that I can't tell you, and it's not because I don't trust you, I trust you more than I trust myself, it's just...Sometimes, I'm scared of what would happen if I told you everything that happens inside my head. It's not a happy place up there, and I...I want to believe you can handle it, but it's difficult, since I can barely handle it myself. Do you understand?"
Will looked at him for a long while. Then, a warm smile grew across his face, before he reached out and hugged Bill. The blond stiffened instinctively, but allowed his brother to embrace him.
"I understand," Will said, gently. "I'm sorry for overstepping your boundaries. For now on, I'll trust you to tell me things on your own, when you're ready. And please know, that I'll always be here if you need someone to listen."
The blue haired boy released him, and the brothers smiled at each other.
"Well, I'm going to check how much damages there are to the shack," Will said, before heading towards the exit.
"Have fun with that," Bill teased, before Will left.
After that, Bill's expression hardened. He looked over at his bed, and saw Journal #3 laying there, with a black light next to it. Bill sat on the bed, before picking up the book and light. He flicked the black light on, turned the pages to the one with the blueprint. Taking a deep breath, Bill shined the light on the page, before reading the hidden text.
He gasped, and dropped the book. It fell on the floor, and he stared at it with cold fear.
What did he just see?
"I was hoping you wouldn't see that."
Bill slowly turned around, to see Gompers standing in front of the doorway. The blond regarded him in horror and disbelief.
"Gompers...what exactly does this machine do?"
Gompers narrowed his eyes. Then suddenly, as though a gust of wind appeared and pushed it, the door slammed shut behind him. Bill almost lit his hand on fire, but then the goat gave him a calm look.
"Since you are so curious," Gompers started. "I'll tell you everything."

Meanwhile, on the other side of the woods, Agent Powers and Agent Trigger were dragging themselves out of a ditch, beaten and torn.
"That was insane!" Trigger gasped. "I've never seen anything like it! Who do we report to?"
"This is bigger than we've imagined," Powers said, seriously. "We need to bring in the big guns."
"They'll never believe us!" Trigger remarked.
"Then, we'll make them believe us," Powers shot back. "This is the town we've been searching for."
"Hello, officers. Need some help?"
The agents looked up from the ground. Powers scrunched his brow in confusion. "Young man, what are you doing in the middle of the woods?"
Kill smirked down at them. "Enjoying the scenery. You two look like you've been through a lot, mind telling me what happened?"
