Backstory: Maman is the son of Hugo Vlad and was raised *cough* brain washed *cough* to obey his fathers orders. But he was allowed to have an independent thought when it didn't really matter in his father's eyes. Like what he wanted for a snack. But Maman has quite a few secrets and uses his veil to hide them. An order from his father that he can't help but obey. So keeping his veil up gives him an edge. Making people wonder why he wears it and him being essentially physically unable to talk about why he wears it.
