Truths Covered By Lies
Jimin was laying in his bed, looking out to window as he drew circles on the sheets on his bed. It was early, no too early but early enough for the birds to be singing their song. He had dark bags under his red swollen eyes. There was a knock at his door.
"Yes?" Jimin asked weakly.
"The king would like you to come down, sire."
"Okay." Jimin answered plainly.
Jimin sat up and slid his slippers on. Not bothering to brush his hair, or fix his face, or even change out of his boxers and oversized white shirt.
He walked down the stairs and heard yelling and his dad's calm voice. He turned the corner to the hallway hearing to his father's office.
"Jin, dear, now calm down." The queen cooed.
"No! This bastard is undeserving of my brother!" Seokjin roared.
"I don't see how you reached that conclusion. I've been nothing but respectful to Jimin." Evan claimed.
Jimin slowly walked behind them all and touched Seokjin's arm. Seokjin turned around quickly and grabbed his face.
"Baby! Are you okay? Does anything hurt?" He asked fanatically.
Jimin shook his head and whispered, "I thought I told you not to tell father?" He asked pained.
"Jimin, they say I'm hitting you. Am I hitting you?"
Jimin looked to Seokjin then to Evan, debating his answer. Saying yes, who will believe him? The wounds healed too well. Saying no, will that keep him safe? Evan might hit him for telling someone.
"I..."
"Jimin, son, think about your answer, and tell the truth. You wouldn't lie about this just to get out of the marriage right?" The king boomed.
Jimin's head shot up offended. "I would never, father! You know I hold to my duties as a prince!" He shouted to his father.
"Then? Does he hit you?"
Jimin stares at his father, eyes glued to him as his father looked to Evan, who had a smirk on his face.
"No." Jimin said sharply.
"I told you, your majesty. Your eldest just doesn't want his younger brother to get married."
"He's lying! Jimin came home crying with a bruise on his face!" Seokjin shouted accusingly.
"Jimin?" The king asked, directing the accusation towards him.
"I was tired. I was just upset and tired. I fell while I was at Evan's palace." Jimin lied looking from his father to Evan.
His father nodded before dismissing them. The king and queen walked off and Seokjin watched their backs before turning to Jimin, whispering to him.
"Why did you do that?! We could've gotten you away from him."
"I'll be fine. My duty as a prince to take part of this marriage. If it gets worse I'll tell you." Jimin smiled to his brother.
Seokjin looked to Evan who had a victorious smirk on his face.
"Go." Jimin whispered and Seokjin hesitantly left.
Jimin looked to Evan before walking to his room, he heard Evan behind him then busted into his room, rushing to shut the door. Evan caught it and threw it open. Jimin fell back onto his butt as Evan slammed the door. Jimin stood up and backed away. Evan rushed and grabbed his upper arms, pulling him to himself. Jimin cried out and tried to fight him off, his hands on Evan's chest as he tried to push away.
"I told you not to say shit."
"I didn't! I swear I didn't!" Jimin cried out struggling against him.
"Why does your brother know? Huh?"
"He saw the bruise you left! I didn't tell him! I promise! Please let go!" Jimin was sobbing terrified of getting hit in his own home.
Evan let ago before smacking Jimin with the back of his hand. Jimin fell to the ground, holding his cheek, crying. He stayed there as Evan yelled at him. He flinched anytime his voice was raised. Evan picked him up and stared at him in his face, Jimin looked down as he cried.
"I don't like seeing you cry. I don't like making you cry. Why do you insist on angering me?"
"I don't! I don't! I'm sorry! Please!" Jimin cried, trying to hush his sobs.
Evan took Jimin to the bed and sat him down.
"Yet you almost ruined this marriage."
"No no no! I-"
Evan punched Jimin in the stomach. He let out a strained cried, holding onto Evan's arm tightly as he started coughing. Once Evan took his hand away Jimin cradled his stomach. Crying.
"You won't anger me anymore right?"
Jimin didn't answer, knowing he'd do it accidentally.
"I won't try to."
"Try to." Evan chuckled.
He pulled Jimin's face up to look at him.
"You really are a beautiful young man, you know that?"
Jimin breathed out shakily. Evan sat on the bed next to him before laying on the pillow and pulling Jimin to lay with him. He rubbed Jimin's hair then kissed his forehead.
"I'll be leaving soon. You swear not to anger me."
No response.
Evan pinched Jimin's back tightly causing a cry and squeal to leave him before agreeing.
"Yes! Yes! I promise!"
Evan let go before sitting up and walking to the door.
"Come here." Evan said softly.
Jimin got up, pained, walking to Evan.
Evan grabbed his face and kissed his bruised cheek then softly kissing his lips. With that he left. Jimin still held his stomach, wiping off his face and lips. He sat at his desk in his room and called up his brother. Seokjin rushed in and gasped at the bruise on his cheek and tears staining his face.
"I lied Jinnie, I can't do this, I can't." Jimin cried as Seokjin held him.
"I'll run away if father makes me marry this man. I'm telling father, I'll beg him. I can't keep up this lie. It hurts too much."
Seokjin hushed him.
"You won't run away."
"I'll run away!" Jimin yelled.
Seokjin sighed and kissed the top of his head.
"You won't because you always say you do, but you always fall asleep in your bed. Every time."
"Well not this time."

Jimin came clean to his father. But...
"So what? You lied that day."
"Yes, only because I thought it'd keep me from getting hit."
"Jimin, he's a noble prince, he wouldn't lay his hands on you."
"But he does father! He does!"
"Jimin, don't lie."
"I'm not lying!" Jimin cried out as he walked closer to his father's desk.
"You aren't getting out of this wedding, lying isn't going to change that."
Jimin looked at his father pained and confused.
"Why don't you believe me?"
"It's a clear lie that your brother has forced you to say."
"He said the truth for me!"
The king tsked.
"Just because you lied, the wedding is now at the end of the week."
Jimin gasped. "Father you can't do that! That man hits me over the smallest things!"
"Jimin, what I said is finally. Now go to your quarters."
Jimin huffed and stomped his foot, tears in his eyes before running off to his room. He walked in quickly and slammed the door.
"Fuck this! I refuse to marry him! So, if father won't listen. Neither will I!"
Jimin sat at his desk and began to write a letter. In case Seokjin or his mother was worried. Well, he knew his father would only care about getting him back and marrying him off. Jimin wrote the letter and sealed it. Placing it in an envelope and setting it aside. Jimin placed a cloak under his bed and the letter too.
He'd leave that night since the end of the week, was tomorrow.

Seokjin walked into Jimin's room with a breakfast on a tray.
"Jiminie! I have-" He stopped seeing an empty bed.
He places the tray on the bed and looked around the room in a panic.
"Mother!"
The queen ran in.
"Jimin is gone!"
"No he's not. There's no way. The wedding is today!"
"He told me he'd run away if father forced him to marry Evan but I didn't actually think he would."
"Where could he have gone?!"
"I don't know mother, I'm so worried."
They all panicked. The king and Evan walked in expecting to see Jimin with his brother and mother but, the ebony-haired boy was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is he?" The king asked his wife.
"Gone."
"What?!" He asked sharply and darkly.
He looked around the room before Seokjin pointed at a letter and opened it.
"He's gone. He's really gone." Seokjin exhaled as his hand dropped down holding the letter. He handed it to his mother, who read over it and cried out.
The two held each other.
"He left because of you two! You hurt him and you didn't believe him!" Seokjin yelled pointing at Evan then his father.
And with that, the 2nd prince of Diamond kingdom was gone. Seokjin and the queen, disgusted and upset with the king.
The king looked over the letter and swore under his breath.

(Dear family,
If you're reading this, you have noticed my absence. I cannot and will not marry that man. I do not care if father is disappointed in me, I cannot fulfill this duty as a prince. Do not bother looking for me as I am probably far gone. Father may be disappointed in my decision but I am disappointed in him. Believing an outside prince over your own son. So I am gone. I am not getting married and I am far gone. So Jinnie and Mother, I love you and will miss you dearly. Please don't risk looking for me. To Father, if I am brought back, forced back, or come back, if you marry me off, I will never forgive you or look at you like my father. And to Evan, why would you do that to me? I didn't mean to do what I did, but you still did that to me. I don't like it at all. You're why I'm leaving.
Sincerely,
Jimin♡)
