Trinity turned and ran out the room. She didn't give it a second thought, she just turned and ran, slamming the door behind her. She ran down the stairs, ignoring the elevator completely. She heard footsteps behind her, but never slowed. All she could think about was that she had to get out of here, to be anywhere but there. She jumped down the last flight of stairs and burst out the back door of the hotel.

She stopped. She was in front of a street. It wasn't a busy street, it seemed to be a back road somewhere. She instantly knew where she was. "New York?" She whispered. She was remembering, remembering slowly and not much, but it was still remembering. She had only taken two steps outside before someone grabbed her by the arm.

"For the love of the gods I order you to stop!" It was Takeo. He had been following her this whole time and though she was panting from her run down the stairs, he wasn't out of breath at all. "I can explain everything, you just have to listen." She looked at his hand on her arm and back at him. "Fine," He said, "You just have to promise me you won't run." She nodded her head and he took it as a promise. He let her go. She turned to face him while scanning her surroundings in case she felt the need to bolt. "As I said before. I am Takeo and you are Trinity. You have to remember at least that, right?"

"I am Trinity, I think." She said and as hard as she tried, she couldn't stop the shaking in her voice. "I don't know who you are because you are not my protector, I am certainly not a princess or a shapeshifter, and we are in the middle of New York city. That is what I know. What I want to know is how do I know I can trust you?" She took a small step back.

He became tense, his muscles tightening as he sighed. "I guess you can't know for sure, but you have to trust me. You are a princess and I am here to protect you. There has to be something inside of you that recognizes me, even from childhood?" She shook her head no.

"How can I remember you if I can't even remember my own name?" but she did remember something now. The memory played in her head like a movie, It was her playing in a sandbox with a young boy. This boy had the same sparking green eyes and wide smile. She looked back at Takeo, just to see those sparkling eyes staring back at her. He smiled, "You remembered something, didn't you?"

"That's none of your business, but if you are telling the truth, how long have we known each other?" She was trying to piece together if it really was him in her memory or if it was some other random boy with green eyes.

His eyes sparkled again, "Since birth, princess. I was raised to protect you. As a friend and as a potential queen."

"Don't call me that." she snapped. She didn't want to hear it because it couldn't be true.

"What? Princess? I can't help it, Trinity, that's who you are." He frowned, "You seriously remember nothing about me?"

"No, why?" She crossed her arms pretending to not be interested in what he might say next.

"Because there is so much more." His smile appeared on his face once more, "It's ok, I guess I'll just have to make you fall in love with me all over again." He purred.

"What makes you think I was ever in love with you." The look he gave her made her take one step back, "You are crazy, absolutely mad." She shook her head putting as much distance away from him as possible. "How did you get into my hotel room?"

"First of all, it was my hotel room," He started as he took another step towards her, "I paid for it, so it's mine. Second of all, I know you're in love with me because you've told me before. We are a couple back home, and one of the cutest ones I might add." He gave her a gentle smile, his face and arms relaxed a little as if he were telling a joke.

She still wasn't sure if she could trust him, but she sat down on a nearby bench anyway and asked one question, "Back home, now where would that be?"

He sat down on the far side of the bench to give her room. "I know you don't remember anything and it must be terrifying. I can't imagine how awful it must feel right now, but you have to trust me. There is a threat and we have to get back to our realm. It's not safe for you in a place where there is no magic. I have been to this earth countless of times, but you should not be here. I do not know if you will shift in this world or how unstable you magic is here. We have to get you back."

He put his hand on her knee, but she wasn't paying attention. Magic? This earth? Realm? She felt sick. A threat? What kind of threat? She wasn't ready for this, any of it. She leaned over the railing of the bench and emptied the contents in her stomach. When she was done she wiped her mouth and asked, "Then what do we do now, Takeo?"

He smiled and said, "I'm glad you asked."
