Epilogue
As the festival continued, Neaveh swung around in the bright festival lights letting the joy spread inside her. It's perfect she sighed as she looked around.
One person saw the stranger on the street he quickly went over to her. "Did you wish upon a star?" He asked.
Navaeh stopped dancing and stared at the man before her. Something about the man made her nod her head.
The man smiled brightly. "Come my child. Let's get you settled in your new home." The man led Navaeh through the bright coloured streets. The whole time a smile danced on both their faces.
The smile faded as a solider ran up to the pair. "I am sorry for interrupting."
"What is it Thea?"
"Elder Quinton you asked me to come to you if something happened to the crack."
"What has happened?"
"Well I think it best for you to come see for yourself." She replied.
Nodding his head he took Navaeh's hand. "I think you should come along also."
The guard named, Thea led Navaeh and Elder Quinton to the wall. A couple priests stood aside as the elder took a closer look.
"What is it?" Thea asked the elder.
"I am not sure. It's some sort of sticky barrier." Elder Quinton replied as he touched the crack.
Navaeh looked at the crack without a thought she reached a hand out and touched the crack. Sure enough the barrier was sticky. As she continued to touch the sticky barrier a thought occurred. "Tape" she muttered.
As she pondered what this all meant two more guards came running over.
"Elder Quinton the darkness." The poor guard was breathing heavily and having trouble speaking.
"What is happening?"
"It's a new year. a year of new Beginnings. Come everyone. Let's go back to the festivities. All will be better now." Elder Quinton said smiling at Navaeh. The group around the pair looked at each other confused by everything. "Elder Quinton. The darkness though. I well. I can.."
"Zeal it is alright. Come let's go."
The guard nodded his head and followed everyone to the party.
Elder Quinton caught Navaeh's arm. "It is your time here now. I am finally able to have peace. Take care of this sanctuary." Navaeh nodded her head as the elder seemed to vanish into nothingness. A feeling of peace flowed into Navaeh as she once again looked at the place she meant to be. "Home"

Can't find the little rat anywhere the bullies were muttering to each other. They had been searching for the girl since they stole the book.
"What EXACTLY are you young people doing here at this time of night?" The librarian's voice cracked the quiet of the library.
" Nothing sister!!!" The terrified boys stammered before hastily running back towards their room. The librarian smiled to herself as she went about cleaning up. The end of the day was always the busiest for the tired old nun. Not many of the students respected the books.
Heading to a place she knew would have some sort of mess. The nun spotted an object on the floor. Gettin closer she saw a book in the middle of the row of books. "Now what are you doing here poor book?"she asked out loud as she picked up a sadly ragged book."Those boys are not very nice to you I see...hmmm I can fix you up" walking back towards her desk the nun hummed a hymn and picked up other books and garbage along the way.
Reaching her desk the nun placed the battered book down carefully. She brought out her tape and glue to carefully fix the badly used book. "Such a shame what they did to you" she muttered as she set about re-glueing the spine and taping the pages together. After a few moments the librarian finished her careful work. "Well not quite as good as new but it will do. Now were do you belong?" She asked as she looked at the title of the book. Once again humming a hymn the librarian took the book to its shelf. "There back with all the other Z's" she laughed as she carefully replaced it to its spot, once again safe until another reader picks it up and finds home amongst it's words.
