Zanes hands layed on his head, his vision blurry and his body in pain
He was feeling that again. His therapist hasn't seen him since spring, not that it mattered. Not like he'd make the poor therapist feel the weight of his actual life.
His painful, pathetic life.
Rule #1: Your problems can't be solved by sharing them around. They can't be solved, period.
He couldn't stop the thoughts, he knew that. He also couldn't stop his tears flowing down his cheeks.
He sat up finally, breathing shakily. He felt like he was suffocating. His whole body shoke as his vision blurred completely, both of his eyes now seeing the same shadow of his damned father.
His first thought that was a bit sensible was 'I can't go to school like this. This is way to bad.' His next thought couldn't mimic the sensibility. He went to the bathroom, grabbing a plastic razor and breaking it on the sink. He took the broken blade and shakily placed it on his arm.
His mind went blank.
Next think he knew, his arms had loose bandages on them, he let out a small, innocent giggle at the mishap, pulling his sweater and mask on.
He ran downstairs and out the door, ignoring his brothers yelling for him to wait.
He made his way to school, having aphmau join him halfway through. "Zannnneee!! This morning was teeeerrrrrible!!" She exclaimed, Zane just listening along. "My mom promised me breakfast tacos and to drive me to school, but she wasn't. Even. Home! Can you believe that??" She continued, Zane sighing. He was tempted to say 'Well at least you mom's alive or at least you weren't waiting to bleed out on your bathroom floor.' But alas it was dumb in this situation.
Rule #2: Talk less, frown more.
"And she left a note saying she- Hey were at school! Yay!" Aphmau spoke much too excitedly. Zane nodded a bit, already not wanting to be there. Aphmau ran ahead to greet Travis at the entrance
Travis... The shy, innocent boy being told filth. Of course he didn't care.
Rule #3 Don't care about anything or anyone. People vanish.
He waited for the bell to ring, wanting to be a few minutes late, just to piss off his dad. He gets a phone call every. Single. Time. Its pretty funny. Only time he won't get punished for doing something wrong.
He heard the bell ring and very slowly made his way to the doors. Of course this meant he was quickly left behind by his classmates, but he didn't really care. He liked the silence. His thoughts were rudely interrupted by yelling coming from the bleachers.
Rule #4 Dont care, theres no point.
It wouldn't hurt to break one rule. It's his game anyway.
He made his way over to the bleachers, hiding behind one of the polls keeping the structure up. He saw something that made him smile to himself.
The shadow knights!
He watched Gene and Zenix fight over a show on Sasha's phone. "Oh my irean you're a fucking idiot! There is no fucking way he's actually a demon! If anything he's a werewolf!" Gene exclaimed. "Are you for real??? You literally know nothing!" Zenix growled. Zane pulled up his mask to stop any particularly bad sounds. Sasha chuckled a bit, watching them fight.
Eventually she looked towards Zane. Zane backed up quickly, hoping he moved on time.
He didn't.
"Hey, you guys need to see this shit-" Sasha said, causing the boys to look up at Zane. "Oh my irean, this nerd?" Zenix growled out. Gene started laughing. Zanes eyes widened quickly.
Hes laughing at me
Hes laughing at me
He's laughing at me
HE'S LAUGHING AT ME
He quickly tried to turn around and walk away. He realized that this wasn't going to happen. He felt his hood being pulled back harshly, making him trip down. He looked up at the figure who grabbed him.
Gene, of course, it had to be Gene. "Now now. Why would Zane Ro'meave himself, have a reason to spy on us?" Gene said lowly, hissing out his name like venom. "S-sorry-" Zane whispered.
Rule #5 DON'T STUTTER YOU INCOMPETENT FOOL
"What? Are you scared?" Gene said chuckling, lifting him up to his feet by his hood. Zane covered his mouth to stop himself from coughing. He felt like speaking was just about the second worst thing.
Next to breaking into dance of course.
"Well? Answer me!" Gene growled, pulling him toward the bleachers. Zane tried to tug on his hood to stop him from choking. He tried to walk away, which was a bad idea.
He got tugged harder. He walked more normally backwards to avoid any more pain. He was harshly thrown on the ground, his hair temporarily moving to show his other eye.
"I ask you again. Are. You. Scared?" Gene asked strictly. Zane shook his head 'no' weakly. "Speak when your spoken to Zane." Zenix added. "N-No." Zane muttered. Gene chuckled. "No? Really Zane? You don't seem very brave."
3-person in school
Aphmau sat at a round table with Travis, both of them writing down notes. "Traavv..? Where's Zane? I walked to school with him today and I know he's usually late but never this late and I'm getting worried should I-" Aphmau rambled on. "Aphmau- maybe h-hes in the
... The nurses?" Travis studdered out. "Or maybe he's skipping again!" Aphmau said louder then intended.
"Dante?" The teacher, Mr. Norlo called. "Here!" Dante yelled back happily. "Vylad?" Mr. Norlo called. "Here, sir!" Vylad called out. "Okay, Zane?" Mr. Norlo called out. He poked his head up to find no Zane. "Aphmau! You walk with him right?" Mr. Norlo asked. "Yea, he walked with me today." Aphmau said. "Can you go to the court yard and find him?" Mr. Norlo asked. "Can I bring Travis?" Aphmau asked. The teacher nodded and Aphmau smiled at Travis. "Hey, you should take me with you! I wanna leave too!" A random boy yelled. The class laugh happily as they left to the court yard.
3rd person by Zane.
Gene kicked Zane harshly, making Zane let out the cough he was holding in. He grip his stomach, his eyes watering. He heard a gasp. A loud one at that. "Z-zane?" He heard another voice call out.
As much as the stutter was recognizable, he couldn't think the same thought for long enough to actually tell who was there. With his luck, it was probably someone trying to record it for the small chance of going viral.
He felt another kick, seemingly by someone else. He heard rapid foot steps, which made his head start pounding. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" He heard a high pitched voice say. "Teaching him a lesson. He was spying on us." Gene spoke coldly.
"G-gene he's hurt! He's o-one of Dante's friends you know!" A squeaky voice spoke. Travis, yes, that was his name.
Zane seemed to have been forgotten by them, so he tried to stand. "Don't bring him into this." Gene spat out. "B-but he's- you d-don't listen to anything else." Travis said quietly.
"The fuck did you just say?" Gene said darkly. "Nothing! He said nothing!" Aphmau, the other voice, said nervously.
"No no no, I want to know what he said." Gene said matter-of-factly. "Please- stop." Zane croaked out, standing up shakily.
"Zane!" Aphmau said relieved, running up to him. Zane flinched slightly, but let her. "Z-Zane! Are y-you- okay?" Travis studdered out, slowly going closer to him like a timid animal.
"Sorry-" Zane spoke softly, looking to the side. "Well well. Doesn't this just-" Gene started. "Hey, Gene! What happened?" Dante yelled. "Shit-" Gene whispered. Aphmau ran to him, seemingly explaining it to him.
Gene, being Gene, ran. Zane noted how fast he was, like a cat who just got caught tearing up curtains.
"H-hi- Zane." Travis studdered out. "Hey- Travis right?" Zane said, pulling up his mask.
Travis nodded, seemingly blushing, but Zane didn't bother to notice. "Thanks, by the way. I- Really appreciate you doing that." Zane croaked out. "I-it's not a pr-problem! I like h-helping people." Travis studdered out.
He's so sweet~
"M-may I- take you to the nurse?" Travis asked, standing a little straighter. "Honestly, I've dealt with these wounds fine every other time." Zane said a bit coldly before realizing what he just said.
"T-they've done this before?" Travis said nervously. "Them specifically, no." Zane said, opting not to explain. "Oh.... I-I'm sorry, Zane." Travis said apologetically.
Zane smiled under his mask. "Were good." He said, grateful someone cared a bit.
"C-can I take you- inside?" Travis asked nervously. Zane simply nodded.
/Inside\
Travis and Zane walked the empty hallways, chatting a bit. "So- Why did they.. erm.. start bullying you t-today?" Travis asked quietly. "I looked at them." Zane said, matching the quietness.
Travis looked confused. "Really? Wow- I'm s-sorry" Travis said apologetically.
Zane smiled under his mask. "Were good." He said.
Travis, being the nervous lil apprentice he is, giggled nervously. "D-did it hurt wh- when you fell from h-heaven?" He said playing with the sleeves of his uniform.
Zane stayed silent for a moment, blushing heavily. "No..? I broke my ankle crawling out of hell tho." He said laughing.
Travis smiled a bit, then started laughing, seemingly almost falling over himself, making him laugh harder.
Zane took note of how cute his smile was, no homo tho lol #yolo
Now Travis actually fell, feeling embarrassed but happy to deny the silence.
Zane held out his hand, trying to help out the best he could. Travis grabbed his hand. "Than- Thank you." He said smiling.
Zane just pulled him up, not struggling because of the albino males small figure and short height. 'The amount of people I'd kill to have a body like his. Maybe just Gene- probably just Gene.'
As they were walking, Travis notice that Zane was lost in thought. On another note, he realized that Zane neglected to pull his hand off Travis's.
Huh...
Would'ya look at that.
I guess their holding hands.
Okay. this is fine.
.-.
Travis realised what was happening after a moment. He blushed perfously.
Zane didn't notice. They continued to hold hands down the hallway, to the nurses for an ice pack and water, to the library where Zane figured it out, and to class untell they separated.
Zane's hand felt cold.
Unusually cold.
//Ak this is dumb I'm sorry. Ik the ending makes zero sense so I'll make a part 2 later maybe
