Chapter 8

Saturday - 2:13 P.M.
May 8, 2015

Yesterday when Dante accused me of liking him, I had to leave. If I stayed I would have knocked his face in.

After Miki, finding love is the last thing I'll ever do in my life.

His eyes are deceiving him, I showed NO signs that I liked him. I mean all I did was watch the TV while ignoring him.

Boys and their lies, disappointing.

When I left him I went to check on Zain in the playroom. I called his name 6 times before he finally registered I was there.

It hurt me a little, during our years together I was his number one and he was my number one.

The fact that he didn't notice me makes me wonder, is he going to go through those rebellious teenage years now?

If he is, I'd hate it. Zain is a sweet beautiful kid, having him turn into a rotten apple is not on my agenda, especially now.

My last stop was my room, it wasn't much to do but i found something. There were some books under the bed, though they weren't my favorite genre I still read them.

It takes two things for me to enjoy reading, one being upside down and two having very little to no noise.

The noise part was easy since the house was already quiet but the upside down part was a struggle.

Amazingly, God blessed the bed, with my lower half laying on the bed and my upper half hanging downwards off the bed. I was practically upside down.

For the remainder of my long day, I stayed in my room reading books. Up until now, right now I'm in trouble.

"The rumors of Janunu Williams being alive is true and she isn't alone. In this footage you'll see a our very own Janunu Williams carrying a child as she ran down the hallways of Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia."

A clean very clear video of me running with Zain in my arms was displayed on the screen.

This is not good, I have to leave now! Quickly I stood up and grabbed Zain who was sitting at my feet.

I went upstairs and into my room, I'll only take a few things for Zain. Carrying light is a major rule for me, with less things I can travel further and faster.

My door was opened and in came everyone, "What are you doing?" Tyrone asked first.

"Packing." I said discreetly not wanting to prolong this conversation. In a second Monique took the little backpack out of my hand.

"No, your not leaving." She said. I scoffed and reached for the bag but she moved it away.

"Did you not listen to me? I said your not leaving!" She said angrily. That's it I've had enough of this.

"Give it back Monique before I have to do something I don't wanna do." I gritted as I took slow strides to her.

I spent most of my 20's running from a lunatic, while my family was evolving. My idea to joint the gangs was a success.

Unity has a number of activities for kids and adults that's making them sky rocket to fame. That's how everything I've seen so far has been so fancy and expensive.

Monique is a damn actress. Travis plays basketball and football in the Unity's sports group. Jaja is a YouTuber and a dancer in the Unity's dance group. Unique...I don't know what she does, but I bet you she's making some dough.

This community grew and thrived, all while I suffered.

Momo gently touched my shoulder, "Nu, what's going on? You can tell us." She said. I looked back at her and those behind her.

Nikolas, Travis, Unique, Jaja, Tyrone, Dante, and J.J stood there with worried faces. Before I can answer I saw Brunet pop up out of no where.

"People, someone at the hospital snitched about Janunu. My director has a full on search for her, the whole state is on lockdown." He said out of breathe.

What?! What's with these people?! I've done nothing wrong, why are they so obsessed with me?

"Sh*t, people will be pressing us about Nunu." Travis muttered. Brunet nodded agreeing with Travis, "Half of my co-workers are asking me if I know anything about it." He added.

I snatched the bag out of Monique's hand and zipped it up. Then I picked Zain up, carrying him on my hip.

"It's best if you don't go anywhere." Brunet said. I cocked my head to the side, "Your input is irrelevant, your blessed enough that I haven't killed you yet. So let's keep it that way so you don't die." I said.

Brunet scoffed, "I hope you know that I put our petty argument aside to help find you. You should be grateful." He said.

I gasped, "Really?! I'm sooo sorry for being so cold to you. My gratitude is unceasingly." I said sarcasm dripping out of my mouth.

I could care less about his involvement in my rescue. Actually, I was better off in Italy than how I am now.

It's their fault that I'm in this mess, now I have to start over and find a way to get back under Enzo's radar.

Monique shook her head disapprovingly, "Nunu we just want to help, there's no need for the disrespect." She said frowning.

I laughed, "You all just want to help me? Do you all not see what you've done?! He'll find me!" I yelled angrily.

Tyrone stepped forward, he uncrossed his arms as a deep wry face was drawn on him. "Who'll find you? Nunu, who are you running from?" He asked.

I've said too much, the questions will come and that'll keep me here longer. "No one." I said and tried to walk past him.

He stopped me as he put his arm out in my direction, "Janunu, if someone is coming for you, we have to know. You can't run forever." He said sternly.

Not only was he being serious but the way he addressed me brought just a little intimidation to me. People I know call me Nunu, but if it's important they'll call me by my full name.

I pushed his arm off of me and looked at him, "No one is chasing me." I said shoving death glares into his eyes.

"Guys...the feds are outside." Unique said looking out the window. My body instantly went on high alert. I pushed by Tyrone and those that stood in the doorway.

Then I ran to the backdoor, ready to leave but only to be pulled back. I stand in the middle of a 6 person circle.

All the children were blocking exits, "Nu, we can't let you leave." Momo said shaking her head.

They all looked at me disapprovingly, it made me feel angrier. They don't know anything about Enzo, he'll end us all if he doesn't get what he wants.

"Mrs. Frender! We need you to release Janunu Williams in our custody! Please let her out with her hands raised!" I heard one of the feds yell in their microphones from outside.

"They know you have her. How did they know?" Brunet muttered. If only these idiots didn't bring me to the states my identity would have still been a mystery.

First comes the feds, then the news reporters, and finally my enemies. My discovery will go international, telling all of my enemies to come eat.

There's a bounty on my head for 100 million dollars, I know all of my greed filth enemies want it. So they'll do everything in their power to get me.

"The cameras on the streets and in the hospital, they obviously seen us with her." Tyrone said.

A loud noise from the living room was heard, they're breaking down the door. "Ok, Dante take Zain and Nunu to the basement. Stay there until we signal you to come up." Nikolas said before grabbing the kids.

Dante put his hand on my back making me immediately move away. He frowned, "What's wrong?" He said

I glared at him, "Don't ever put you hands on me." I said venomously. He hesitantly nodded his head before pointing at a door.

"We'll go through this door and take the stairs down, then you'll go in the secret cellar and hide in there." He said before opening the door for me.

Hmmmmm, reluctantly I took steps down into the dark basement. "It's dark in here." Zain whispered in my ear as he clutched onto me.

I smiled a little, "Don't worry, Mommy's got you." I whispered back as my last foot reached the bottom.

Dante switched the light on, looking around I realized someone's living down here. A bed, lamp, computer, dressers, and other stuff surrounded me.

I thought Momo and her husband only lived here. "This is my room, I live here." Dante muttered before pulling his biggest dresser away from the wall.

A little door was on the wall, hmm reminds me of Coraline. Anyways he opened the door and pointed in it.

"Just crawl in through the short tunnel and then you'll be rewarded with a small room." He said smiling.

I said nothing nor did I move, "What's wrong now?" He asked.

"There's no light, Zain doesn't like the dark." I said short and simple.

He smiled again and went behind the stairs, I heard him flipping on a switch. Then the tunnel lit up with little light, it's probably coming from the room.

I put Zain down and kneeled, "Be a big boy and crawl in that hole, I'll be right behind you." I said.

He nodded slowly before slowly getting in, I was behind him as I said I would. The door closed and I can hear Dante moving the dresser back.

Zain and I reached the room quick, there was only one thing that stood out in this room.

Canned food and blankets took up 85% of the room. While a small collection of knives that ornamented the wall.
