The alleyway was cold, cramped, and wet. Raindrops fell slowly and randomly, interrupting the peace periodically. A rainbow was slowly breaking out in the clouds; the tall skyscrapers threatened to cover it up.

A body lay near one of the trashcans, motionless. Bits of glass fell from above it, but it didn't react. Two girls turned the corner and ran as fast as they could into the alleyway, searching for something.

"Ness," one of the girls said. "What if we don't find her?"

"It's going to be okay, Wen. Just keep looking. It was a long fall, so she can't have gone anywhere."

Soon, they stumbled upon the lifeless body that was lying beside the trash bin. Ness knelt down beside it and caressed its head softly.

Wendy wasn't as partial. "Ness, grab her head, I'll grab her legs. We need to get her back upstairs."

Ness nodded and picked up the cadaver. "Do her eyes look weird to you?"

"It's probably just the lighting, let's go."

They slowly moved her out of the alley; the cars that passed paid them no mind as they started their ascent up the building.
