On a snowy december morning
As I returned with our breakfast,
Watching you standing in the cold
My heart almost crumbled to dust.

clamped hands, runny nose,
Cold breath drifted your tinted lips.
The way your slim frame shivered
Reminded me of a delicate tulip.

The moment our gazes met,
Relief danced in your eyes.
Watching that dazzling smile,
Felt like I had won the grand prize.

My soul rejoiced
Knowing you awaited my return.
Though just a simple act,
It clearly conveyed your concern.

That was when I realised,
You secretly cared too.
For me you'd brave every obstacle
As I'd do for you.

Memories like these
I'll cherish them forever.
Use them to warm my heart
On some cold and lonely winter.
