Alexis woke up finding herself in a beautiful garden filled with beautiful roses. There were red ones, white ones and so on. She got up and decided to take a walk. Huh... It's strangely quiet here, she thought.

  'Hello?' She called. Strange... There are no animals here...

  She tried calling to a little bird who comes whenever she called. But the bird was nowhere to be seen.

  'Is anyone there?' She tried again but no response. Yet, she couldn't shake the feeling she was being watched.

  She came upon a fountain which had stopped working. Being the Mechanic expert she was, she found the problem and fixed it.

  She was so engrossed in fixing the fountain she didn't hear footsteps. 'What are you doing here? Who are you?' A cold voice snarled. Alexis dropped her hammer and jumped.

  'Who's there?' Alexis stammered. 'I'm warning you! I'm armed!'

  Then, she heard a high-pitched laugh. It was so cold and stony people would have ran for their lives.

  'Hah! You think a hammer can hurt me?' The voice said again. Alexis could feel it smirk.

  Alexis looked around and realised all the roses in the garden had wilted. 'Show yourself! Or are you afraid?' She said, boldly.

  'If you insist.' The voice said and two glowing red eyes appeared in front of her. She screamed as the creature emerged.

Alexis woke up sweating and looked around. She sighed. 'It was only a nightmare.'

'Hey, Alex. You alright?' Her little talking adorable cute magical black cat floated up to her and sat on her palm. (Something like Plagg in Miraculous Ladybug.)

'Yeah, I'm fine, little guy. Just a harmless nightmare.' Alexis smiled stroking her little cat's head.

Alexis got off her bed and did some morning things like, making her bed, brushing her teeth, etc. with the help of Dark, her magical cat.

  A head poked into her bedroom whilst she was brushing her teeth and Dark immediately flew into her school bag. 'Mornin' hun!' Her Mother said, cheerfully. 'Breakfast is on the table.'

  'Alright, mum.' Alexis said and continued brushing her teeth.

  She ran down the stairs and jumped off the last few steps.

  'Hi, mum. Hi, dad.' Alexis greeted and asked, 'When are you going to finish that time machine, dad?'

'Hm... I don't think it will be finished very soon because it's acting very very stubborn.' Her dad grumbled.

Alexis' dad was an inventor. Her mum was a mechanic. They both like to argue about which job should Alexis take.

She finished her breakfast, kissed her parents on the cheeks and ran to school.

  'Such youth.' She heard her father say before exiting through the door. Alexis fed her little cat some of her lunch biscuits. 'When can we go get some marshmallow?' Dark complained. 

'Not now, Dark. I'll buy you some marshmallows later.' Alexis mumbled.

As Alexis walked along the pathway, she heard a familiar voice, 'Hey, Alex!'

  She turned and smiled. 'Sup, Yuzu?' Yuzu rolled her eyes. 'Now you sound like Bold.' (P.S: Bold is boldwriter4 btw.) 'Haha...' Alexis laughed nervously.

  'So, ready for the test? I'm kinda glad because it's our last paper today.' Alexis smiled. Yuzu nodded. 'I was staying up all night studying.'

  'Wow! Talk about sleepy!' Alexis teased, pointing at the eye bags under Yuzu's eyes. 'Shut up, Alex!' Yuzu cried, playfully punching Alexis' shoulder.

  'Hahah!! Okay, okay. Yuzu! Stop!' Alexis giggled. 'Oh! Look, it's Rin. Hi, Rin!'

  'Oh! Hi, Alex, Yuzu!' Rin greeted. 'Welp, today's the big day! Are you guys ready?'

  The girls nodded and walked into the school grounds. The day passed quickly and it was soon time to go home.

'How'd you do today? I couldn't finish the last question, I'm so screwed!' Yuzu complained as they walked home together.

'I think I did fine. And if you manage to finish the rest of the questions, I think you are quite safe.' Alexis said giving her friend a reassuring smile.

Rin agreed and offered,'Hey, wanna go get some ice cream to celebrate the ending of exams? I'll pay.'

'HECK YEAH!' Alexis and Yuzu cheered. Rin giggled and challenged them to a race.

'Race you guys there! Last one there is a rotten egg.' Rin started running.

'HEY! WAIT UP!' Alexis and Yuzu yelled after registering what Rin just said.

The trio ran and soon they all got lost. Rin got too much of a head start and was soon out of sight. Yuzu soon caught up to her and was out of sight too, leaving Alexis behind.

Alexis slowed to a stop. 'Guys? Yuzu! Rin! Where are you?' She called out but got no reply.

Alexis started walking while calling out her friends names. 'Yuzu! Rin! Where are you?'

She tried calling her friends through her phone and just realized that she left her phone at home. She groaned and kicked a wall. 'Ouch! That hurt!' She cried, massaging her toe.

How smart of me... To think I'm a survivalist and I freaking left my phone at home!

'You okay?' Dark asked from inside her bag.

'No, I'm not.' Alexis grumbled.

Apparently, Alexis just moved into Heartland City and is still trying to get used to the place.

'YUZU! RIN!' Alexis called. She called and called herself hoarse. Soon, she got lost.

Dark popped his tiny head out of Alexis' school bag. 'Alex, are we lost?'

'I think so...'

'Aww, man! I didn't get to eat the marshmallows...'

'Nows not the time, Dark!'

Damn... Why couldn't I thought of not going to school on the second day I got here and explored this place?

She wandered aimlessly until she reached a forest. The forest was dark and creepy. The branches of the trees almost looked as if they were beckoning her to go into the forest.

So, being the daredevil she is, she walked in cautiously. She would flinch at every sound the trees or woodland creatures made.

When she heard the leaves rustling, she would either jump at least 9 feet high or karate kick the branches. Soon, after walking aimlessly, she felt tired and decided to take a break. Dark flew out and sighed in relief. 'Finally! I was getting a bit cramped in there.'

Dark looked around and realized they were inside a forest. 'Wow... I missed that much being inside your bag for so long...'

Alexis rolled her eyes and looked around. Suddenly, Dark flew up to her and tugged at her sleeve. 'Alex, I think we need to go now...'

'Why?'

'Wolves!' Dark said flying onto her shoulder.

'WHAT?! Oh no...' Alexis cried, grabbing her bag. She started running, deeper into the woods. She heard growling and ran even faster. She tripped.

Oh snap...

She tumbled down and down and down, screaming in process. Dark tried to help her with his magic. But all he managed to do was slow her down.

She finally stopped. Dark flew towards her and patted her back. 'You alright there? Don't die out on meh!'

Alexis managed a giggle. She sat up and looked behind her, 'The wolves are gone... Thanks to this cliff...' Alexis mumbled.

Dark smiled and took her hand. 'C'mon! We need to find you a place to stay!'

Alexis tried to get up and winced. She looked at her ankle and cried,'Oh gods! Of all the time, it just had to be ths time when I broke my ankle!'

Pain shot through her whole leg as she tried to move her leg. Her ankle was now turning a blue-black.

Dark flew down and looked at her ankle. 'At least it's turning into the same colour as me now.' He smirked.

'Shaddup!'

'Okay, okay. I'll go look for a place to stay, but first... I need refill.' He said, patting his tummy.

Alexis laughed and reached for her bag. She took out a bag of marshmallows and Dark's eyes lit up immediately.

'But, you said you didn't have any!' Dark smiled as he took the bag of marshmallows from her hands.

'Who said I said it?'

Dark turned red and took out a marshmallow and began munching on it. 'How come it was in your bag? How come I couldn't find it?'

'Well, there are two reasons. One, you were fast asleep the whole time and couldn't be bothered to search. Two, I hid it really well.' Alexis explained with a laugh.

Dark smiled and handed the bag marshmallows to Alexis. 'Here. I'm full and charged. Now, I'm going to search for shelter.'

'Wow! You practically ate half the bag.' I giggled and rolled my eyes sacarstically.

'Hey! I only ate five!'

'And that's a bit too much for your tummy I think.' Alexis winked and patted Dark's tummy.

Suddenly, Dark's tummy growled. His face paled and he clasp a paw onto his mouth flying here and there with a panicked look on his face.

Alexis laughed and took out a small piece of tissue. Dark snatched it away from her and vomited digested marshmallows into the tissue. After awhile, he looked up and cried, 'Why do you always have to be so ahead of time?'

Alexis shrugged and took out a first aid kit. 'Woah! How'd you fit that into your bag?' Dark gasped and looked at her questioningly.

Alexis giggled and simply stated, 'I'm a survivalist, in case you don't know. The kit was in my bag the whole time, you were just too lazy to get up and explore. Also, aren't you supposed to be searching for shelter?'

'Right, sorry.' Dark flew ahead, leaving Alexis at the spot they were in.

Alexis sighed and started applying alcohol on her wounds and bandaged them. Then, she turned to her leg. It was starting to swell.

Damn it hurts!

She got out a new water bottle and started rinsing her ankle. She winced once or twice but kept calm. Since she didn't have any ice, she took out a thermos that was filled with cold water and poured it on her ankle. Then, she took out some bandages and carefully wrapped up her ankle. Not too loose and not too tight, just right!

Dark soon came back, panting and plopped himself down on Alexis' palm. 'I'm so tired...' He wheezed. Alexis took out a marshmallow and attempted to give it to him when she turned away.

'Hey!' Dark cried, flying after the marshmallow.

'But, I'm afraid you will get a tummy ache again...' Alexis smiled, waving the marshmallow in the air.

'But, I'm hungggggrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!' Dark complained, laying down on Alexis' shoulder.

Alexis rolled her eyes and fed him the marshmallow. Dark flew over to take a look at Alexis' ankle. 'Wow! You did this by yourself?'

She rolled her eyes and tried standing up. At first she couldn't, but with the magical help of Dark, she soon could. 'Did you find shelter?' Alexis asked the tiny creature.

'Yeah! And it's huge!' Dark cried, waving his little paws around.

'Okay, lead the way, kitty!' Alexis smile as Dark huffed.

'I told you not to call me 'kitty'! I hate that nickname!'

'Okay, okay.'

Dark took her hand and lead her towards the 'huge' shelter.

After some time, they came to a stop. 'We're here!' Dark smiled as Alexis looked up at the castle.

The dark castle loomed over them as if it was threathening them. Alexis stared at the castle in awe. 'Well? Are you coming in or not?' Dark asked as he struggled to push open the massive gates.

Alexis snapped out of her daydream and went to push open the gates easy peasy. 'Hey!' Dark yelled, clearly offended.

Alexis ignored him and walked towards the castle. Dark trailed behind her. She knocked on the massive doors. After getting no reply, she pushed open the door and walked in. 'Hey, you sure about all this?' Dark asked nervously, glancing around.

'Why wouldn't I be?'

'Because all these furnitures are -'

'Ahh! Here's a candleholder thing...' Alexis whispered as she picked it up.

She continued to wander and she found herself in front of a stairway that had a sign which clearly said, 'Master's Room'.

She cautiously walked up the stairs and suddenly heard a voice. 'Psst! Psst!'

Alexis looked around and asked, 'Dark, did you say something?'

'No.'

'Psst! Psst!' There it was again. Alexis turned and saw the candleholder thing move.

'Augh!' She silently cried out in surprise.

'Shhhh!!!!' The candleholder thingy quickly covered her mouth and somehow the fire wasn't hurting her. It wasn't even hot!

'If I let you go, you promise you won't scream?' the holder asked. Alexis nodded and he let go while breathing a sigh of relief.

'It's just... What are you?' Alexis asked, curiously.

'What am I? I think it should be a "who are you" to be precise.' the holder smiled.

'My name is Yugo. I was a human before He came and changed everything. Before He took over my poor brother's life. Before He took over this castle.' The holder named Yugo raged.

'I'm sorry. But who is this He your talking about? And you have a brother?' Alexis asked, even more curious.

'Oh. That He we're talking about is Berserk. He entered this city by force and changed me, my brothers and all the other workers here into furnitures. After that, he took over my poor poor brother.' Yugo suppressed a sad smile.

Soon, footsteps could be heard.

Clank Clank Clank

'What was that?' Dark asked turning around, only to be met by a clock.

'Oh. Hello. What's your name?' Alexis asked, cutely before picking the clock up.

'I'm Yuto and my stupid brother here just can't shut up.' The clock said. 'And you are?'

'Oh! I'm Alexis Furukawa but you can call me Alex. And this is my magical pet cat, Dark!' Alexis introduced and Dark quickly covered her mouth.

'Oi! Alexis! You forget! I'm not allowed to be known by anyone except you! Jeez!' Dark complained.

'Hahah! What a cute cat.' Yuto smiled.

'Sorry, Dark. It kinda slipped out of my mind.' Alexis said, sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck.

'It's okay! We use magic here too.' Yugo said and Yuto went and kicked him.

'Oi! Don't give things away!'

'Hey! Stop doing that!'

Alexis giggled as the two brothers continued arguing.

This is going to be an adventure.

What she didn't know was how right she was.
