"Hey watch it!" One of the students yelled as they crashed into me.
"S-sorry!" I blurted out, grabbing my things and hurrying to class.

You took a deep breath as you strummed on your guitar, tuning it and getting it ready for the talent show.
You see you had never had much confidence, which led you to seek out people who did... Like Amelia, who introduced you to Mattie. Who like you, felt pretty much invisible.
Yeah, Amelia did kind of play match maker there, but you honestly didn't care. You and Mattie had been dating for a couple years now, and since you both were in your 3 year of collage... You were planning to propose.

It was finally the end of the day, time
For the talent show...
My whole body was wracking with nerves as I stepped onto that stage.

"And entry number 18 (name) (l/n) Invisible!" My chemistry professor announced, I put on the strap of my guitar, and started to play.
There must have been a million people in the auditorium, but I ignored everything.

I quickly found my seat next to Amelia, who had the widest grin on her face.
"Are you ok?" I asked her.

I stood up, the professor called for everyone to be quiet, whispers spread through the crowd, everyone wondering what would happen next.
"Hi. So I know that everyone here just wants to get out of here as quick as possible... But I wanted to dedicate this song to my amazing girlfriend Maddie. We've been together for around four years now and she's the reason I'm still alive. I just want her to know that she's not invisible and that there are people out there who care about her... So Maddie I know your there, come on up to the stage, there's something I wanted to ask you."
I scanned the crowd to see Maddie, she stood up and walked up to the stage her head in her hands out of embarrassment, tears were running down her face as she hugged me tightly, I hugged her back.

I gave her a soft kiss before getting down on one knee, everyone started screaming and cheering like crazy.

"Maddie we've been together for a long time now, and your really the only one who's made me feel like I'm actually there and alive. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?"
I asked, pulling out a black velvet box and opening it to reveal a diamond ring, the stone in the shape of a little maple leaf.

Maddie was in shock, her eyes wide with surprise, before she nodded.
I stood up, we shared a long kiss, before we separated, and I slid the ring onto her finger.
I hugged her tightly, everyone was still cheering.
