A Fixer Upper {Anna x Fem Reader}

A/N

You guys are spoiled! I tell you, spoiled! Isn't that kinda my fault..?

Off topic, here's part two.

********

After a few more visits to the shop, Anna got over her ex-boyfriend. It took time, and it was a process.

She consistently ate most of the shop's chocolate storage, along with the hot chocolate. Anything chocolate related wasn't save from her breakdown, you still wonder how she keeps her slim frame.

One visit back, she bought a unexpected guest. A walking talking snowman, yup-he was very much alive.

You jumped off your chair seeing his twig arms wave at you. You landed on the ground decently hard, your bum and lower back were sore for the day.

He introduced himself as Olaf, who likes warm hugs. You don't think warm things should be combined with a snowman, but it's hugs he's talking about; not an actual fire place.

The day went on as it normally went, the redhead ranting in front of you; featuring a snowman. About how faithful and loving she was towards sideburns, blowing into a tissue.

Then tossing four pieces of chocolate in her mouth, maybe even six when she's getting really emotional. Her childhood snowman rubbed her back in sympathy, you rub your head in anticipation.

You take the mug that once was filled with hot chocolate, going to refill it. "It's not your fault. You gave your everything for that man, your heart. The most precious thing when it comes to love, it isn't your fault you gave your heart to someone who didn't deserve in the first place."

She groans, throwing her face into a pillow. "But, that's it! I gave my heart to a man who wasn't fit to have it! I shouldn't have seen the signs sooner!"

Or, you should've listen to me or at least take my words into consideration. You shake your responds off, handing the depressed girl her mug.

You watch in silence as Anna sips her drink in pure sadness, and Olaf munches on a...marshmallow? Can he even digest it? Can he digest anything?!

But, he looks like he's having fun. And you're not cruel enough to break his heart, you just let the snowman have his marshmallow.

You smile at the memory, you wasn't feeling the greatest that day. But, to have your favorite strawberry blonde walk in with a snowman who loves to talk about random things. It made your day.

You rotate your head in a circle like motion, hoping the rotation helps crack your neck. It's been feeling stiff lately, you only found this out when Anna jumped on you

You jerked your head to scold her, which only resulted in you cracking your neck. The crack was loud, she panicked, legitimately thinking she broke your neck.

You calmed her down, seeing her usually bright teal eyes be prickled with wet tears. The scene was cute, in a sense she's almost crying because she thought she hurt you.

You explained you've been working harder for the past few days, and haven't been sleeping in a comfortable position. Also haven't been stretching in the morning, certain body parts are stiff.

She breathes a sigh of relief, saying she thought you snapped your neck. She ended it with a nervous laughter, which then dropped to a pure frown. She's frowning at her morbid answer.

You ruffled her head, you said you found her "attempted" joke at dark humor kinda funny.

You lose yourself in memory lane, until a loud bang scares you. The box in your arms flies up, and you juggle to catch it as the object bounces off your arms.

Once you catch the wooden shape square. You turn to where you heard the loud noise, a glare already on your face.

Your uncle yawns, stretching his stiff body. You could hear his bones crack from where you stand, he rubs the sleep out of his eyes for a brief second.

He makes his way to the back, walking past you. Without giving you a head rub, messing your hair up. "Morning kid, did you restock all the missing items and reorganize the storage room?"

You scowl at him, shoving his strong hand off you forcefully. "Yeah, I do every morning. And can you not slam the door? It nearly made me piss myself."

His low, raspy voice chuckles. Giving you a strong pat on the back, you feel your oxygen cut for a spilt second.

"I can slam the door all I want, my shop. My rules." You huff at him, rules. Right? You've caught him sleeping on the job, at least you get to push him off his chair.

You jerk yourself real quick, gaining your uncle's attention again. "Do we have anything planned big today? Like family's visiting? Or someone's totally forgotten birthday?"

Your relative thinks about it, putting a hand on his chin, then moving it to his head. After a few more seconds of silence, he smiles shaking his head.

"Nope. Not that I can recall, why? You going out with redhead again?" He sends you a small smirk, you turn around. Walking in the direction of the storage room.

"No! Was just wondering! Might go into town to buy-" "More Chocolate!" "No! More bread and shit!" He sometimes can be a handful to handle.

He lets out another chuckle, he waves you off. Before heading out to the back, to cut more ice or fish.

"Ah, such youthful love..."

********

You think about the options. Should you get your uncle cookies? He's been acting like a punk lately? Nah, why not. You love that old geezer.

You grab a bag of plain old snickerdoodle cookies. You swear it's like his crack, you pay and walk out the shop; without saying your thanks.

The townsfolk are so sweet, the town in general is very caring. Mostly cause the ruler isn't a bratty, spoiled Queen.

You a cold shiver travel down your back, you shake the feeling off. You keep forgetting it's getting more chilly, but you don't mind.

You like winter, not only do you get to sleep longer. Wear all the sweaters and hoodies you want without sweating, but it can be such a beautiful sight to bless upon the naked eye.

You use to be a ice harvester, walking up to the north mountain and freezing at the breeze. You liked your job. During work, you and friends would mess around.

Clumping snow together to make snowballs, then throwing them at each other. Some of them would cut huge chunks of ice that were unnecessary, just to look tough and strong.

But that image would fall, once they tried picking it up, only to have it be dropped on their foot. You still cringe at the memory, it was funny but painful to watch.

It was like a train wreck, standing there watching it happen. But you couldn't stop it, that's what the scenario felt like watching the big ice block crush your friend's foot.

You left that job, you were a kid after all trying to help your uncle out. You liked it, and you hope you can go back to it sometime.

But, working in your uncle's shop is a change of scenery. It's warm, and you don't have to wake up so early. Majority of your days are normal, basic. Customers coming in, looking at stuff.

Buying things then leaving, then the cycle continues. There are moments where you encounter rude customers, acting as if they're entitled to know everything.

You hold your tongue, you have to. You work in a job where you help and talk to customers, you have to be nice. Trust me, you just want to sock their face in or just tell them to fuck off.

You do, but kindly. And you don't want to be kind to those type of people.

In the distance, someone calls your name. You hear it, looking up at the sky for a moment then behind you. Once you don't see anyone, you scratch your ear. Probably a tick.

Then you hear it again, but it sounds more close and louder. You sigh annoyingly, you really don't want to deal with people that are unnecessary to your day right now.

You turn around, expecting a scrawny looking kid. Or some stinky prideful bastard, you were expecting a man.

You wasn't expecting the princess herself, dressed in such a lovely shade of blue. You'd totally wear that blue, did you mention blue looks nice on her.

Usually her older sister wears blue, but once you saw the sisters swap colors for a day. You wasn't complaining, the strawberry blonde slips on snow clumsily.

You jog over to her, use to her clumsy behavior. You catch her, cold fingertips gripping your warm forearms for safety.

You smile, watching her breathe a sigh of relief. She pulls her teal eyes up away from her winter boots, a shy smile coating her flushed, freckled skin.

She'd push a strand of hair behind her ear, showing her shy behavior; if she wasn't gripping your arms for balance.

"Hi." She states, still quite embarrassed about her pervious action. You let a small laugh slip, she's really something else.

"Hey." You say back, much more cool and calm. You watch her pale skin brighten more, bright pink blush brushing her cheeks; making it hard to count the freckles on her skin.

"Whatcha' doing out the gates this time? Running away from royal responsibilities, again?" You start as you help her up from her awkward position.

You move your hands under her arms, seeing you guys aren't getting anywhere. Anna surprisingly yelps, hands shooting to grab your shoulders.

Fingers gripping your quarter-sleeved shirt as her boots leave the cobbled ground for a few seconds. You place her back down, now standing up straight.

"Now, you still didn't answer my question. Why you out? Your sister's gonna be upset at you again for leaving without permission." You brush off what just happened earlier.

Continuing a conversation casually, like you didn't just pick the princess of Arendella up.

"Uh..." The royal in front of you stammers, still trying to process words after what just happened.

She clears her throat, noticing you're just staring, waiting for an answer patiently. "Um..sis knows I'm out, the guards tried chasing after me once I saw you. But you know Elsa, being Queen, she told them to let me go."

The redhead finishes her story or explanation. Wearing a proud smile, like she stabbed a beast's heart or climbed the most brutal mountain.

You raise a brow, skeptical of her answer. Anna has lied to you about her answers, she says her sister knows she's out but in reality the Queen's in the dark about her younger sister walking out the gates.

She notices your silent, judging stare. She pouts, her warm breathe becoming seeable in the cold weather. "I promise you I'm not lying! I could drag you back to the castle to prove you wrong!"

Her fingers wrap themselves around your wrist, she starts stomping towards the castle. You following behind amusingly, you grab her by the hip, before yanking her back.

She squeaks out, colliding with your chest. She pulls her head back to glare at you, for your unexpected move.

She stops, realizing you two's position. It's like you two are dancing, in the middle of town, where everyone can see the pair.

You let out a carefree chuckle, you were just full of surprises today. "I believe you. Don't need to drag me to the royal palace, just 'cause I'm skeptical of your answer. Your sister is most likely busy, don't want to be a nuisance."

Anna pulls herself away from your grasp, hand shooting up to rub her arm. You look at the gesture, you figured you did something wrong.

"Sorry if I made you uncomfortable." You give a apologizing bow, she jumps. Clearly taken off guard. "No-no! I-I'm not rubbing my arm because I'm uncomfortable! I'm just a little cold.."

You feel a smile curve your lips, you straighten your posture. Waiting for the strawberry blonde to follow, "You coming or not? The fire pit's still running warm."

You nod in the direction of your uncle's shop, your day isn't busy nor is anything planned. A friend is always welcomed to the shop, your uncle loves when you bring people over.

It shows him you have friends, and you're always not a lone wolf.

"No snowman?" You ask, snow crunching under your boots. The girl besides you shakes her head, kicking a small clump of snow.

"No snowman this time."

********

You arrive at the shop, as Anna's finishing up a story. With exaggerated body and hand movements, she makes a flying motion of sorts.

Hand dashing though the cold air with speed. You had no idea what she was talking about, the only thing you remember is her hand roughly hitting you in the face.

You stumble a little, an unexplained expression sculpting your features. Anna grimace, hand hesitantly reaching out to touch your face.

"Sorry! I didn't break your nose, did I?" You suddenly giggle, your own hand touching the spot where she hit you. It's sore, you're just baffled by how strong the feeling was.

"Nah, it's nothing. You've got a punch to yourself, huh?" You give a teasing grin, poking at her arms. She shyly smiles, playfully shoving your hand away.

You laugh, before grabbing the cold doorknob. You twist it, watching the frost break that had formed around the entrance.

You push open the door to...chaos. Small children running around, adults eating and drinking, laughing. You stand in the entrance, stunned.

Everyone stops whatever they're doing, children stopped chasing each other. Adults put down their wine glasses, to see who's at the door.

"(Y/N)'s home!" Family...why are they here? Uncle said nothing big was planned today?! But, you should've known better. Your uncle always forgets about big family plans.

All your relatives come rushing towards you, it's like a mob of people you kinda don't want to see right now. You get pulled in all different directions, you're like a ping ball bouncing off each corner.

"You're here! Take your clothes off, I'll wash them!" You jump out of your skin, as one of your aunties's hands grab the hem of your shirt, pulling it up.

You quickly push your shirt down, hoping Anna didn't see that. "No-I'm good, I'm keeping my clothes on. Thank you." Your 'thank you' came off sarcastic, you're hoping they get the message; they didn't.

You wiggle your way out of this big bear hug, you want some space and having them in your bubble is cutting off oxygen.

"Why are you guys here?" They all turn to look at each other, confusion writing their faces. "Didn't uncle tell you we're visiting today?" You turn to glare at your uncle, who gives you a sheepish shrug and grin.

"Oops-kinda forgot." You nod along with his answer. "Yeah. Clearly you did." You point towards your family.

You scan the crowd, but can't find your parents. "Where's mom and dad?" One of your dad's siblings walks up, a sad smile on their face.

"They couldn't make it, work was getting crazy." You drop your shoulders, why'd you get your hopes up? Work was always getting between you and your parents.

"Family..?" You look at the entrance, the princess still standing there, more confused than you. "Oh no..." You mumble, but your answer wasn't heard when your family busted into loud cheers.

"It's a girl!" "(Y/N) brought a girl home!" Anna's swiftly pulled into the shop, door slamming shut behind her. She's pushed though the crowd of family members, until they push her up against you.

You grab her, wanting her away from your loud, inappropriate, and obnoxious family's grasp. You hold her hips as they cheer around you, "What's going on?" She took the words right out of your mouth.

You two look at each other, the same expression on the other's face; confused and slightly scared.

"Come here! Let me have a look!" The same aunt that wanted to wash your clothes, grabs Anna's face for closer inspection.

"Yes, bright eyes! Strong teeth! Pretty face! She'll be perfect for our (Y/N)!" She leans back, getting approval nods from all the members.

You and the redhead's cheeks heat up, looking at each other. "No-we're not-" Anna starts, pointing between her and you. "Yeah, we're not a thing." You finish, praying your family just drops the topic.

They all give dramatic grasp, all looking at each other; making sure they all heard the same thing. "Why are you holding back from such a woman? Is it the grumpy way she walks?" You look at your anutie, confused about the statement.

"Or is it the grumpy way she talks?" Another member joins in, you feel kinda a offended. "No, that's-" The royal's cut off from her statement, watching your relatives pull you though the crowd.

"So she's a little bit of a fixer upper!" Your uncle stands back, watching amusingly as the family embarrasses you in front of the girl you're head over heels for.

They continued to spin you around, spilling secret after secret to the clearly confused freckled girl. "Or maybe it's cause she likes to act like a lone wolf, but loves having friends?"

You perk at the words. "Not!" You yell. "She says she doesn't like human contact, but likes the hugs." One whispers to Anna, gaining a giggle from her.

"I don't like humans in my space!" Your answer gets lost or not heard, again. "But, you'll never meet anyone as grouchy and sweet!" They pull you forward, making you smile.

The strawberry blonde feels a smile spread upon her lips, even if she's bitting her bottom lip to prevent it from showing.

"You have bugs!" One yells, as you scratch your back. "No I don't!"

The groups spilts you two up, all your male relatives with you and the women with the princess.

They give you advice, which you flat out reject. "Enough!" You yell, making them stop. "She's straight!" They all look at each other, then huddle up in a little group.

"So she's a bit of a fixer upper." You hear them whisper. "It sounds like her sexuality is a flex arrangement." Did they just question Anna's sexuality? The audacity they have...

"By the way, I see no boyfriend!" One little boy says, you don't need a boyfriend to be considered straight. They turn to you with thumbs ups and smiles, you groan; facepalming with both hands.

Seems like the redhead is having more fun. "We're not asking you to change her, it's hard to change someone." She's just distracted, they keep playing with her braids.

"People make bad choices, when they're mad or scared or stressed." Anna thinks about that statement, people make bad decisions when scared or stressed.

"But, throw a little love their way!" The smile she's been hiding becomes more prominent, all of them are opening her eyes to things she was blind to. Things that were standing in front of her face.

It just never crossed her mind to look deeper.

Now I know what to do.

********

You watch as the rock skips over the water, watching the puddles the small object created expand, then fade away.

The town becomes more quiet as night falls, you watch your reflection from the surface of the water. Questioning what happened today.

You ruffle your hair nervously, you and the freckled girl haven't started a conversation after the whole family thing. Does she think you're weird because of relatives, get job guys.

You sigh, taking a step of courage. "Look. I'm sorry if my family kinda...freaked you out. It's understandable, they tend to be pushy, and just assume situations."

Anna smiles at you, a gentle one. One that shows her caring personality, you feel your heart skip a beat. "It's okay. Family can be like that, you seemed annoyed. Would you change them for their obnoxious behavior?"

She lays her head on her knees, still facing you. You think about the question, looking on the dock for my rocks to skip.

"No. I would never swap them out for anything, not even money. I like my life, I like the people I've created close bonds with." You send a genuine smile making the teal-eyed girl blush.

"I love my family. Yeah, they can be a handful to handle, even for my standards. But, that's their charm. Deep down, I know they're looking out for me and only just care."

You toss the rock up and catch it. You feel the dock creak, as a sudden weight is placed on your left shoulder. You smell some sort of winter themed perfume on the girl, along with chocolate and..is that reindeer?

You don't think much about it, just want to enjoy this moment. "You should start heading back, your sister's going be mad if you don't arrive before curfew."

The head resting on your shoulder groans, throwing herself backwards. "Do I? I can't stay out a little longer?" You laugh, getting up. You help feisty-pants up, dusting off any dirt.

"So, see you tomorrow?" You ask, stuffing your hand in your pocket. "Actually.." The strawberry blonde starts, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear shyly and nervously.

"We're having some fancy event in a couple days or so. I was wondering if you wanted to come, it's okay if you don't want to!" She says quickly, before you could even decline.

"Can I even get in, you know. Not royal." You answer, making movement about your clothes. She rolls her eyes, "It's fine. I'll get you at the gate or just tell the guards I invited you. That's if you want to come..?"

You chuckle lightly at her expression, you've never seen her so nervous before. You shrug, "Sure, why not. Sounds fun, fancy food and drinks."

Anna squeals happily, pulling you into a hug. Bouncing off her boots excitedly. "I'm so happy I could kiss you!" You stop, she stops. Her face looks so mortified, terrified of what just came out of her mouth.

"I-I..." She stutters, desperate to get a word out and not look more like a idiot. You have nothing to say, you don't want to assume. It could just be from the heat of the moment.

You don't say a word either, scared you might say something stupid too. You two just stare, the sunset setting the mood. Painting the sky with pinks, yellows, and oranges; maybe a little dot of red too.

You take a step, hand reaching out to grab the tense girl's hand. You succeed, pulling her closer.

Once in close proximity, you give a small kiss on the cheek, nothing drastic.

You give yourself a mental congratulations, you didn't meet a gay panic or get flat out rejected.

You still feel conflicted with her silent treatment. Too soon to celebrate? "Was that enough? Or you asking for a another one?"

She smiles, wrapping her slim arms around your shoulders. Guess that answered your question, you watch her giggle, brushing your noses together.

"How do royals ask for kisses? We do? May you? What was it?" You feel more puzzled by your stupid thought.

The redhead giggles again, placing her own kiss on your cheek.

"It's 'We may'."
