Just a normal fourth date.

23.10.19; 7:48 pm
The bright purple numbers on his clock illuminated the usually dark room, blinds preventing the golden rays of sunshine from lighting it up.
Aside from the numbers only Yunho's TV provided some brightness, the main menu of "Assassin's Creed Revelations" and its title track playing in the background.
While tapping his slightly sweaty fingers onto the white coloured wood of his desk in the rhythm of the familiar tune, his thoughts began to race around the fact that his date would be here in just twelve minutes.
It's not that he was nervous because it was their first real date, it was their fourth one actually, but every time anyone even mentioned or reminded him of the sweet and kind boy all of his recent thoughts were about, his cheeks would blush and he would act like one of those whipped high school kids in movies or stories.
His heart would begin to jump like an excited little kangaroo in his chest, his breath would hitch and on the soft pale skin of his cheeks and ears, not as tanned as it would be in the summer, would appear that rosy pink his crush admired so much.
Yunho had never liked how easy it was to make him blush, but since he heard him saying those five words, his whole opinion turned completely upside down and he learned to love it; "I like it, it's cute."
♡
Just as the brunette started thinking about him again, the soft melody of his doorbell playing a short and melodic instrumental of Dreamcatcher's "Deja Vu" interrupted his thoughts.
Yes, he had a customized door bell....one of his best friends, Jongho, who worked as a mechanic, had installed it for him. And he couldn't be happier about it.
He immediately stood up from his sitting position, turned off his TV and rushed to the door, fixing the brown locks on his head and some wrinkles on his clothes before opening it, a smile sneaking its way onto his lips as it revealed a grinning Mingi.
"HEY", said boy exclaimed a little too excited and a little too loud. He cleared his throat as he realized it and hid his face behind a bouquet of white desdemona roses to cover up his own nervousness.
"These...are for you."
Yunho's eyes glistened with joy, the sweet fragrance of his favourite flowers filling his nostrils. He hesitantly reached out for the bouquet, shaky hands accidentally brushing the green-haired's.
Electricy-like waves shot through the tips of his fingers and straight to his stomach, waking up the butterflies that had been asleep until now.
As he finally held the flowers in his fingers he carefully inhaled their scent, smiling at the thought that Mingi actually remembered his favourites.
"Thank you", he answered in a soft voice, making goosebumps appear on the latter's neck. The older's voice alone was enough to trigger Mingi's whipped and totally-in-love self and make him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He could listen to his voice the whole day.
After a few seconds of silence Yunho invited him in, quickly disappearing in his maroon-coloured kitchen to get one of his mother's vases.
He put the flowers in some water, added a packet with flower food and then joined Mingi who stood there waiting and had watched him with an adoring smile.
"Are you ready?", the younger asked as he locked their gazes, brown eyes capturing each other's hearts as he took the brunette's hands in his, coating them with warmth.
Yunho just nodded, trying to control his heartbeat and the blush on his cheeks that had appeared at the slightly taller's sweet action.
♡
The older quickly grabbed his bag that contained important stuff like his phone, wallet and keys and let himself get pulled outside by his hand, the familiar blue and black motorycle on the sidewalk catching his attention.
He had never sat on it before, but he had always wanted to whenever he saw it. And now he would really get the chance....
While he was busy eyeing the vehicle in front of him, Mingi grabbed a purple helmet for him, opened the buckle and carefully put it onto the older's head, his slightly cold fingertips softly grazing his jaw in the process.
Yunho's mental blush counter made a 'diiinnnggg' noise, but he already knew that he would lose count soon.
Just being around the younger, feeling his body radiating warmth when they stood just a few centimeters away, hearing his breath right beside his ear and the scent of his cologne were enough to make him stay in his so-called "tomato-mode".
The green-haired flashed him a soft smile before turning around and grabbing his own helmet, suddenly having the need to show off a bit.
He threw the helmet in the air and caught it again, Yunho's surprised gasp making him smirk a little...but he wanted to show off more. He wanted to look cool.
He spun the helmet in his hands and wanted to catch it with one of them, but accidentally dropped it on his own foot and watched it roll onto the ground.
"Ouh f-", he hissed before picking it up, his cheekbones tainted pink as he blushed in embarrassment.
"Oh my, are you okay?", the brunette behind him asked in worry, one of his hands placing itself on his shoulder.
"Huh? Oh, yeah hahaaa", Mingi laughed nervously, trying to cover up the awkwardness.
"I do that really often, I guess I was just distracted by that stone there. It looks like a duck, see?"
He pointed at a random stone, but before the other could look at it and check if what the younger had said was true, he drew Yunho's attention back at him by putting his own helmet on top of his head and climbing onto his motorcycle.
"Come on up", he smiled at him, gesturing him to come closer by patting the seat behind him with his hand.
Yunho hesitated at first, but calmed down from his nervosity as he saw the reassuring smile he liked so much.
One of his long legs swung over the seat and he sat down, not really sure how all of this works. He had never sat on a motorcycle before...and to be honest, he was a little scared.
"Is this your first time?", Mingi asked as he turned his head, looking fondly at the person behind him with care in his brown eyes.
Chuckling at the shy nod he received as an answer, he reached behind his back and took the other's soft hands in his, placing them on his stomach to give him security and show him that he was safe.
"Just hold on tight and don't let go", he said in a soft tone, hands still lying on top of Yunho's.
"Don't let gooo~", said boy just sang, his cute giggle afterwards sounding like an addicting melody to the taller's ears.
Mingi grinned at his humor and continued the lyrics with amusement.
"Have the right to lose controoool~", he sang, making both of them laugh since they knew from each other that they now had "Don't let go" by Little Mix stuck in their heads.
After slowly calming down, the brunette blushed furiously; he had now noticed how he could feel the other's muscles through his shirt because he had flexed them while laughing.
Hiding his flushed face behind Mingi's broad shoulders, he lightly clutched onto his shirt, causing a smile to spread on the clueless driver's face.
♡
The roaring engine then broke the silence of the usually calm neighbourhood, making curious gazes follow them as they drove off to a destination only the green-haired knew.
Yunho looked around in amazement, the new experience already burning itself into his mind...maybe even his heart, too.
♡
What he didn't expect was to get so cold, the airstream caused goosebumps to appear on his skin. His shivering body unconciously pressed its chest more against the younger's back to feel his warmth.
Surprised by the sudden action Mingi turned his head for a second before concentrating on the road again, unable to hide the big smile under the surface of his helmet.
They arrived after driving for a few more minutes, the outlines of the city and its buildings disappearing behind the silhouettes of big trees.
"We're here", the green-haired said as he got off the vehicle, taking off his helmet and shaking his head to fix his hair. Small drops of sweat were glistening on his forehead.
Completely in trance because of this sight Yunho's lips were parted, the helmet still sitting heavy on top his head.
Smirking at the lack of reaction and movement the younger took a step forward, opening the buckle of the still sitting male's helmet and cupping it with his hands.
He carefully pulled it from his head, not once breaking eye contact with him just to see those cute teddy-bear-like eyes looking up at him again.
Mingi made sure their helmets were secured on the motorcycle before he took one of the smaller's hands in his and led him to a path.
Comfortable silence surrounded them as they watched the sky becoming dark, only some crickets chirping in between the bushes.
♡
As they were supposed to reach their supposed destination, the green-haired saw a small figure rushing around the dinner-picnic he had planned.
Catching a glimpse of red strands on top of black hair he figured it was San; one of his best friends he had asked for help. He had asked him to place everything there so the hot chocolate he had made won't be cold as soon as they arrived.
'Why isn't he finished yet? He was supposed to be back home by now....'
Panic rushed through his veins, he didn't know what to do.
He quickly looked over to check if Yunho had seen anything, but released a relieved sigh as he saw him being busy admiring the white rays of the moon.
They illuminated the small forest and threw shadows of its quietly rustling leaves onto the grass.
Still in a state of nervousness and sudden stress he let his body move on its own.
♡
The hand that was still locked with the other's suddenly pulled the brunette back, spinning him around and pushing him against a tree. Yunho's head faced the opposite direction to prevent him from seeing anything.
His other hand rested on the cracked bark above the older's head and his eyes were practically swallowing those adorable doe-eyes staring back at him.
He didn't know how to act from now on, nor did he know if he had ruined the whole mood now; all he could think of was how cute and precious his crush looked with that rosy tint on his cheekbones and that sparkle in his eyes.
Mingi loved how he could see his own reflection in them and even the stars seemed to be a million times more beautiful than when looking at the night sky.
♡
To say that Yunho was surprised would be an understatement; his free hand was now clinging onto the younger's shirt while the other one was still held by the latter's.
Small puffs of air escaped his parted lips as he tried to calm down his breathing and the temperature of his body, the sudden embarrassment and surprise making him feel extremely warm and nervous.
"M-Mingi, w-what's...what's wrong?", he finally managed to say after a minute of just staring into each others eyes and panting against each other's faces, their heartbeats finally calming down a bit.
"I-I, uhm...", the green-haired stuttered, not really sure what kind of excuse he should think of now.
After a quick glance to check if San was gone now he cleared his throat and slowly pulled away, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.
"I-I thought I saw an animal there, s-so I...I kinda panicked......?", he lied, making it sound more like a question than an explanation. He had never been a good liar, but Yunho seemed to believe him nonetheless as he nodded in acknowledgement.
"Oh wait, you have to close your eyes now!", Mingi exclaimed, his nervous self immediately replaced with childish excitement.
The brunette giggled at his sudden change and did as he was told, but still nervously held onto the taller's hand.
♡
He was led over to the blanket that was prepared and sat down with the other's help. Since his eyes were closed he didn't notice how San and Mingi exchanged some quick hand signs, using the opportunity that the other was too busy not to stumble or fall over.
The green-haired then took a seat next to him and stroked the back of hand with his thumb, leaning over to whisper into his ear.
"You can open your eyes now."
Clearing his throat after his breath had hitched a little too loudly, Yunho opened his eyes and was immediately greeted by the view of bright city lights in the distance.
♡
The sky looked like an oil painting of navy blue and a light pink, the colours mixing into a blurred shade of purple whenever they met. Barely visible stars were shining in between the prominent colours.
The brunette watched it in fascination, eyes wandering along the cottony clouds, little leaves that danced through the wind and the distant lights of cars that passed by in the distance.
"It's so beautiful", he breathed out.
His long eyelashes glistened with small tears the wind had brought into his eyes since he forgot to blink.
Admiring the beauty next to him more than the one at the front, Mingi hummed in agreement, his thumb caressing the not really visible, but still prominent veins on the back of Yunho's hand. Watching another cute blush spread on the latter's face as his thumb made its way to his knuckles, the younger's lips curved into a smile.
"Are you hungry?", he asked, letting go of his hand and opening the picnic basket.
The right corner of his mouth twitched upwards as the brunette's grumbling stomach answered the question itself.
"Say no more", he chuckled and softly patted the older's tummy, causing a giggle to escape from those soft, from lip tint pink colored lips he couldn't help but stare at whenever he got the chance to.
♡
They happily ate Mingi's homemade sandwiches while watching fireflies passing by, Yunho leaning against the green-haired while one of the male's hands rested on his hip as they enjoyed the comfortable silence.
"I really like it here", the younger started, his voice warm like a campfire with a slight raspiness underneath, "but I like it more with you by my side."
He bit his lips after putting all of his courage into just this sentence, not daring to look at the other's reaction.
Was he moving too fast? Was his crush even feeling the same way? Judging by how many dates they had by now there was a possibility, right...? But what if that's not the case???
Being pulled back into reality by the soft touch of a cold hand on his cheek, he exchanged eye contact with its owner, immediately losing himself in those precious eyes again.
"Did...did you hear me...?"
Feeling sorry for not concentrating he shamefully shook his head, watching as the other slightly scrunched his nose, reminding him of a cute, cuddly bunny.
"I-I said...I like it here, t-too...with...with you", Yunho confessed, looking down with red cheeks to hide his embarrassment.
Mingi watched him fidget a little more, smiling to himself at how nervous and cute he made the older male behave. He let go of his hand and placed his index finger under the brunette's chin to lift it up carefully, his face slowly moving closer.
A slight smirk flashed over his face when he saw the latter closing his eyes and gripping onto his shirt; he had stopped moving already and just continued eyeing his face.
From his long eyelashes that threw shadows onto his squishy cheeks, down to his boopable nose that was a little red due to the cold...if there was one word he had to describe his crush with, it probably would be "perfection".
"Do you like me, too?", he whispered, locking eyes with the other as he opened them again.
"W-W-What?"
The green-haired's hand moved from his chin to his cheek, cupping it and tracing his cheekbone with two of his fingers.
"I was asking...if you like me, too."
His voice was serious yet gentle, overwhelming Yunho with a wave of emotions.
Nervousness, shyness, panic...every single one of his feelings was dancing in its own rhythm in his mind, leaving him baffled and clueless.
"I-I-I-", he stuttered, not able to build a single sentence in his head. Should he just say it?
He knew that if he would think about it now too much, he would never dare to say it out loud, so he took his whole courage and closed his eyes shut, tightened his grip on Mingi's shirt and confessed.
"Y-yes, I do...."
For them everything went silent; no wind, no crickets, no rastling leaves...just them.
The brunette didn't say anything, didn't even dare to look up. His eyes were still closed, his hands were shivering and his face was burning; the only thing that calmed the fast beating of his heart were the deep breaths he took.
♡
After another minute of silence and literal torture for his self-consciousnes he lifted his head and was taken aback as he looked into the younger's overwhelmed face.
His eyes were widened and his cheeks were flushed; the brave look his face had worn the whole time was replaced by a surprised expression.
"Are you...are you serious?", Mingi carefully asked, trying to control his happiness until he was a hundred and ten percent sure that it was true.
"I-I mean...y-yeah, unless-"
"Unless???"
"U-Unless you...d-don't want to..."
The green-haired looked at him in disbelief, blinking at least ten times to process what he just said.
"Are you...serious? I would absolutely love that. God, I love you so much, you don't even know-"
Choking on his own saliva at the rambled confession he just heard, Yunho placed one of his hands on his mouth.
"Y-You...you do..?", he muttered under his breath.
"Hell yeah."
♡
A few seconds passed; none of them did or said anything. Both of them needed some time to realize what just happened, but when they did...they started grinning from ear to ear.
Not being able to suppress his squeal any longer, the older wrapped his long arms around Mingi's neck and was immediately hugged back by the smiling latter, both of them giggling and chuckling like crazy. They were too busy to realize that they had knocked something over.
Only when they noticed their pants getting soaked wet they parted by surprise and finally noticed that they had accidentally spilled their hot chocolate all over the blanket.
But instead of cleaning it up they just looked at each other and then bursted into laughter, holding their stomachs as they rolled onto their back with Yunho's head landing on Mingi's chest.
They quieted down after a few minutes of trying to stop laughing and starting again, their eyes focused on the now black sky above them.
Still wearing the silly smiles they couldn't prevent anymore their eyes slowly closed and Yunho could feel a pair of plump lips on his forehead before both of them drifted off to a nap in nature, not caring about anything but each other.
