Note: To remind you, this story is going out of the English Dub of the anime. But I like putting the Japanese OP in sometimes. So all dialog will be from the English Dub.

I will also altering the Slifer Girl Uniform a bit, description will be in the story. Just by looking at it makes me feel uncomfortable, so Yuna's uniform will be altered.

The picture shown later is what Yuna's wearing before she lands in Duel Academy. It's the outfit in the middle.

-Next Day-

The day after the Duel Academy Exams, transportation was going to be provided by Kaiba Corps to take the new freshmen to Duel Academy. The helicopter taking the freshmen was leaving at 9 AM, Yuna was just putting on her shoes, deciding to change into her uniform at the Academy.

Yugi came downstairs to see his little sister getting ready. He smiled, proud that his sister made it into Duel Academy. Yuna noticed her big brother coming down and smiled up at him. Yugi ruffles his little sister's black hair and gave her a hug.

"You watch yourself at Duel Academy. You can call Grampa and I anytime." said Yugi.

"Okay bro! I won't let you and Grandpa down!!" said Yuna, determined.

Chuckling, Yugi gave his sister a necklace. The pendant was shaped like a crescent moon with a colorful blue stone "floating" in the moon.

"Now be careful, okay?" reminded Yugi, putting the necklace around his sister's neck.

"I'll be careful, Yugi." said Yuna, hugging her brother one last time before bolting out the door, waving goodbye.

-Helicopter Pad-

Yuna arrived at the Helicopter pad, gasping for air. She looked around, the Helicopter wasn't here yet, but already were a lot of students here.

"Wow, Kaiba really pulled all the stops..." said Yuna, wondering around.

Suddenly she felt someone blow on the back of her neck. Jumping slightly, she turned around, only to see Jaden right behind her, with a big grin on his face.

"Hey Yun, how's it going?" asked Jaden with his happy-go-lucky attitude.

"Fine, until you scared the living heck out of me." playfully retorted Yuna, poking his forehead, even though he was slightly taller than her.

The two friends shared a laugh, just as a boy with light blue hair ran up to Jaden.

"Oh, hey Sy, I want ya to meet someone." said Jaden.

Syrus Truesdale looked the girl that stood beside Jaden, remembering that she was the girl that tackled Jaden during the exams.

"Hello, my name is Syrus. Nice to meet you." he shyly greeted, blushing slightly.

Smiling, Yuna greeted him back, "Hi Syrus, nice to meet you, I'm Yuna."

Syrus nods in return for the greeting. Jaden slaps Syrus on the back, laughing a bit.

"Come on Sy, she's cool. Take it from me." laughed Jaden.

"You've known me since we were five." responded Yuna.

A loud sound was then heard above them. The trio of friends looked up, to see the Duel Academy Helicopter above.

As the copter landed, the students lined up below the helipad. When the air vehicle landed, many students, including the three friends boarded the Helicopter.

After all the students were boarded, they were all on their way to Duel Academy.

-Time Skip-

"Attention new Duel Academy Students, if you look outside your window, you'll see your new home away from home." announced the Pilot.

Many of the students leaned out towards the window to get a good look at Duel Academy Island.

"Now now, I know you're excited, but don't shove." chuckled the pilot. "Now then, fasten your seatbelts and set your seat to an upright position. We're going to land."

"Next stop, Academy Island!"

-Later-

Freshmen students stood in the school's auditorium after changing into their school uniforms.

Yuna wore the Slifer Red Girl's Uniform. But she didn't like how much skin it showed, so she replaced the girl's jacket and wore the boy's jacket and rolled up the sleeves to her elbows. And lucky for her, she took a few pairs of shorts with her to the island, so she replaced the skirt with black knee length shorts. She puts on the red boots and heads to the auditorium.

As they stood in front of the screen, a man with a...ahem...balding head and beard popped up on the screen.

"Good morning and welcome my my students! I'm Chancellor Shepard, the headmaster here. And you are the best and brightest Duelists in the world." greeted the Chancellor in a hearty voice.

As Yuna listened to the speech, she heard snoring beside her. Looking to her left, she saw Jaden fast asleep, standing up. She chuckled softly, Jaden can sleep anywhere and not be disturbed.

"Now please, get yourselves settled in at your assigned dorm. I think you'll find them quite comfortable, depending on how you've ranked of course." laughed the Chancellor.

-Outside-

Yuna walked out of the main building and found Jaden and Syrus chilling on a stone monument. She saw the other boy from the Dueling Exams, Bastian Misawa, who was in Ra Yellow, pass by them.

"Hey Jay, Sy. What's going on?" Yuna asked.

"Hey Yuna, is Jay colorblind?" asked Syrus.

"Sy, if Jay was colorblind, he wouldn't be able to guess my brother's three hair colors." chuckled Yuna.

"Which by the way are yellow, black, and....uh....purple?" replied Jaden, scratching his head.

Syrus and Yuna laughed at Jaden as the trio walked towards the Slifer Red Dorm.

The Slifer Dorm was a small two storied building with eight dorm rooms shown in the front, with another small room, assuming it to be the meal hall, on the side of the building.

"This isn't a dorm, it's an outhouse with a deck." sighed Syrus, climbing up the stairs.

"You kidding me?! Check out the view! This place is great!" Jaden cheered, looking at the ocean on the end of the second story deck.

"Jay's right, Sy. Don't feel bad, it's not the looks of the dorm your in, it's who your with that matters. Even in the lowest dorm, so long as you have fun and make some friends, you'll do just fine. Simplicity is usually the best thing." encouraged Yuna, clapping Syrus on the back.

The trio went to the first door on the first deck, near the stairs.

"Alright, this one here is our room, Sy. And from what Yuna told me..." said Jaden, looking at the room next door.

"...I'm your next door neighbor!" she replied, waving from her door. "Sad thing is, I have no dorm mates."

"Well you're welcome to come and visit anytime." suggested Jaden.

"It's kinda small huh?" muttered Syrus.

"Hey you're a small guy." said Jaden. "Anyway, I like it. This'll make a sweet new pad for our first year here."

Next door, Yuna had just finished unpacking her things. She took the bottom bunk, since she had no roommates. She adjusted her moon necklace that she received from her brother.

Sighing, Yuna decided to go wander the campus, she was sure that Jaden and Syrus were still unpacking, so she'd meet up with them later.

As she wandered around campus she saw the other two dorms and saw that they were a bit more fancier.

'Kaiba really hated Yugi and Slifer huh...' she thought, sighing as she passed the Obelisk Girl Dorm.

"What are you doing here?" came a voice behind her, causing Yuna to jump in surprise.

Turning around, Yuna was met with a girl around the same age as her in the Obelisk Blue Girl Uniform. She had long blond hair and brown eyes.

"Oh, sorry! Was I trespassing?!" Yuna panicked.

The girl chuckled and shook her head, "No, but what's a Slifer doing around the Obelisk Dorms?"

"Oh, I was wandering around campus. Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude...uh..." mumbled Yuna.

"Alexis Rhodes, and you must be Yuna Muto." said the girl.

"Uh.....yeah.....that's me." stuttered Yuna.

"Wanna go around campus with me? I can show you the dueling arena." offered Alexis.

"Sure!" Yuna agreed.

Thus the two friends began to wonder around the main building. Alexis showed her the Classrooms to the Gymnasium, to the Indoor Dueling Fields. Finally, Alexis showed her the Event Dueling Arena, where big event duels take place.

However, when they got there, Yuna saw two familiar Slifer Reds talking to three male Obelisk Blues. And from the looks of it, it's not a pretty conversation. So Alexis and Yuna decided to step in.

"This sure is a motley crew." commented Alexis as she and Yuna walked over to the group.

"Hey Jay, Sy. What going on?" Yuna asked, smiling, causing all five boys to blush.

"It's the Princess of Games!" whispered the two Obelisks in front of then, above in the stands, their leader smirked.

"Hey Alexis, Princess, have you come to watch me mop the floor with my new little friend Jaden here?" said the leader coolly, as if trying to....ahem....seduce the two. "It'll be a short duel, but an entertaining one for sure."

Alexis and Yuna both glared at the Obelisk Blue in the stands.

"I'm here to remind you about the Obelisk Welcome Dinner. You're late." scolded Alexis.

"Oh...yeah, come on guys." the Obelisk said, walking away along with his two cronies.

"Sorry if Chazz rubbed you the wrong way. All of us Obelisks aren't like that." apologized Alexis. "He's just a jerk, especially with Slifers."

"Yeah, those types never really bother Jaden at all." said Yuna, standing beside Jaden and Syrus.

"It's no big deal." agreed Jaden. "Besides I can beat him in one turn!"

"Uh, I think we have to work on that over confidence." Syrus said worriedly.

"Okay, two turns." Yuna suggested.

"Maybe two and a half." Jaden suggested. "What?"

Yuna and Syrus laughed at him, Syrus more worriedly that Yuna.

Alexis giggled at the trio's antics, which made them stare at her.

"The Slifer Welcome Dinner is about to start too." Alexis brought up.

"Oh right! We better go guys!" said Yuna running off, with Jaden closely following behind.

"Hey! Wait up!" cried Syrus, running after the childhood friends.

Jaden and Yuna stopped for a bit.

"Oh hey, what was your name again?" called Jaden.

Alexis stared at male and replied back, "Alexis Rhodes, and yours?"

"The name's Jaden! Alright, see ya around!" yelled Jaden, running off.

"Bye Alexis, thanks for showing me around!" Yuna called, waving behind her as she ran.

"Aren't you gonna introduce me guys?!" yelped Syrus as he ran off after them.

Back at the arena, Alexis stared at the two Slifers in wonder, "Jaden and Yuna....huh...."

-Slifer Dorm-

Yuna sat at the back of the Dining Hall with Jaden and Syrus, while also being oblivious to the stares the other Slifer Red boys were giving her.

Jaden was already chowing down on the food laid out in front of them: Cooked fish, white rice, and miso soup with some small slices of ginger.

"Mhrmph! This stuff's good!" Jaden happily said, choking away on the fish.

"We're supposed to say something about ourselves." whispered Syrus.

"Okay, how about this, I'm starving!" replied the chomping Kuriboh head.

"Jaden, slow down or you're gonna choke." Yuna said.

Jaden was eating so fast that a few times Yuna had to slow him down. The two childhood friends were oblivious to their dorm headmaster, Professor Lyman Banner, approaching them.

"He's walking over her Jaden." whispered Syrus. "I mean it he's right...."

By the time Syrus said that, Professor Banner was already standing at their table.

"Well, since some of us don't feel like waiting," he started, "let's just eat!"

-Later-

Yuna sat on the edge of Jaden's bunk as the said male was on the floor rubbing his full stomach. Syrus was by the kettle making some tea.

"Wow Jay, you went all out huh?" laughed Yuna, rubbing his back.

"Ugh, I'm stuffed!" groaned Jaden. "I'll tell ya, Professor Banner sure can cook. Wow!"

"Yeah and he seems like a really nice guy as well." Syrus said, bringing a tray with four mugs of hot tea.

"I'm with ya there, he's good people." agreed Yuna as she and Jaden took a mug from the tray. "Thanks Sy."

"Thanks!" thanked Jaden.

Syrus looked up to where their other roommate, Chumley Huffington was sleeping in.

"Hey Chunely, want some tea?" Syrus politely asked.

"Did I say I was thirsty?" he retaliated rudely.

"Hey he just asked if you wanted some tea." Jaden defended, looking up at Chumely's bunk.

"You don't have to snap at him." Yuna said, going with what Jaden said.

"That's okay guys," Syrus said sadly, "I'm used to it."

"Duh, tea makes you wet the bed." snapped Chumely, and hearing Jaden "oh'd" quickly made him continue. "Not that I do.....whatever I'm trying to sleep!"

Suddenly Jaden's PDA was ringing. Opening it up, Jaden sees that it was a message from Chazz.

"Hey Slifer Slacker, don't think you're off the hook, cause tonight at midnight, it's on. Oh, and why don't we make it interesting. Whoever wins gets the other guy's best card."

When the message ended, Yuna got a bad feeling about that duel.

"Cool, I guess I'll get to duel in that arena after all." Jaden said.

"If that's Chazz you're dueling, all you've got is trouble." Chumely said, peeking over his shoulder.

-Obelisk Arena-

"I'm not so sure this is a good idea Jaden." Syrus said nervously as he, Jaden, and Yuna made their way into the arena.

"Good or bad, when someone challenges you to a duel, you gotta step up." advised Jaden. "There's no choice."

"When it comes to Dueling Sy, you never back down." Yuna agreed.

They arrived at the arena, and Chazz and his cronies are there waiting.

"Well well well, he shows." sneered Chazz.

"You better believe it." smirked Jaden. "There's was no way I'm gonna miss this."

Jaden and Chazz then stood alone on the elevated arena. While the others stood down to the side.

As the duel started, Yuna saw Kuriboh float around her head.

"Woo!"

'Oh hey Kuriboh, what's up?' Yuna greeted through their bond, as the little furball responded through jumps, before landing on her shoulder.

'I'm with there Kuriboh, Jaden's got this.' said Yuna, seeing Jaden pull out Mirror Gate to switch his Sparkman with his Flame Wingman. 'Time flies when you're talking to a spirit.'

"You got him now Jay!" Yuna cheered, making Alexis, who arrived earlier look at her with a smile.

"You seem excited." Alexis said, as the duel continued.

"Whenever Jaden duels, I'm always pumped. He always seems to pull a miracle." Yuna explained, before looking at the card Jaden just drew. "Speaking of...this duel is going to be over, with Jaden as the victor."

Alexis looked confused until she heard footsteps coming down the halls.

"Uh guys we've got company! Campus security!" Alexis said, sounding troubled. "If they find us all in here we'll get seriously busted."

"What?!" Syrus and Yuna asked nervously.

"Why? I mean we're all students here?" asked Jaden as the duel holograms disappeared.

Alexis pulled out her PDA, "The rules say no off hour arena duels. Chazz knows that, but let me guess, he didn't tell you."

"Come on let's go!" called one of Chazz's cronies.

"Well well, Slacker, looks like you lucked out this time." sneered Chazz.

"Whaddya talkin' about?! The match isn't over!!" said Jaden.

"Yeah it is, I've seen what I've came here to see." said Chazz, walking of the stage. "You're a sorry Duelist, you beating Dr. Crowler was just fluke."

"Jaden, we gotta get out of here." said Syrus.

"Yeah, he's right!" agreed Alexis.

"Come on, let's go!" urged Yuna, climbing on the stage.

"Ugh, this stinks!" Jaden whined stubbornly. "I had this guy on the ropes!!!"

Yuna sighed and began to push Jaden, who stubbornly dug his heels in, with the help of Syrus as Alexis led them out of the main building without the guards spotting them.

"You certainly are stubborn, Jaden." Alexis commented as the four reached the front of the main building.

"Only about my dueling." Jaden grumbled.

"Thanks for showing us the back way out, Lex." said Yuna.

"Sure, I'm sorry that you didn't get to finish your match with Chazz." said Alexis.

"It's okay, I know just how it would've ended anyway." Jaden said confidently.

"Really? No offense, but from my point of view, it looked like it could've gone either way between you and Chazz, when you guys stopped." stated Alexis.

"No way!" exclaimed Yuna. "Not after Jay drew this!"

Jaden flipped the card he was holding to reveal Monster Reborn.

Alexis finally saw what Yuna mentioned earlier.

"With Monster Reborn, I summon Flame Wingman from the Graveyard!"

With Flame Wingman on the field, Memphis, the Inferno General was burned to ashes. Added with Chazz's Life Points going to zero!

"See ya Alexis!" Yuna called as she walked away with Jaden and Syrus, whom Jaden was messing with.

Alexis stared back at the Slifer Trio, 'This is going to be one interesting year.'
