Should Yuna take Syrus' place in the Tag Team Duel against the Paradox Brothers? Should she watch the duel? Or should she duel someone else?

-Last Time On Yugioh GX-

The blast of electricity backfired on Thunder Giant, destroying him.

"This stinks, talk about a run of some really rotten luck." groaned the brunet.

'Not good, no matter what Jaden does, that Archfiend is just gonna remove any effects that would affect his monsters.' thought Yuna. 'This dark fog isn't helping with his concentration either....we just came here to save Alexis, and then this guy had to show up.'

"Now all your monsters are destroyed, and your next!"

-Present-

Turn 4

Jaden: 2000
Titan: 4000

"Your destiny is set, soon my Archfiend deck will finish off all your monsters, and my Millennium Item will finish off your soul!" gloated Titan, holding up his Millennium Item again.

Jaden was breathing hard, but he wasn't giving up.

"This match isn't over yet," he said, placing a card in the Spell/Trap Zone. "I still got a few cards up my sleeve. Like this one, Mirage of Nightmare!"

"And I'll throw down a couple of face downs while I'm at it."

Two more face down cards appeared in Jaden's Spell/Trap Zone.

"Don't waste my time, your Life Points won't last long enough to use anymore of your cards." said Titan, drawing a card. "Alexis' soul will soon be gone, and so will yours!"

Turn 5

"It's my turn."

"Hold on, I think your forgetting something!" butted in Jaden. "Mirage lets me draw until I have four cards in my hand."

"So go ahead," scoffed Titan. "You could have four million and it still wouldn't defend you against the crushing power of my monster. Allow my Terror King Archfiend to give you an example. Attack! Locust Storm Barrage!

Terror King Archfiend: ATK: 3000

"Talk about butterflies in your stomach!" joked the Slifer. "Good thing I played a Trap Card, Mirror Force! Say Goodbye to all your monsters in Attack Mode!"

"Totally 'licious!" cheered Chumley. "If Jaden keeps this up we can finally get out of here and with Alexis too!"

"School him Jaden!" cheered Yuna.

A mirror like wall built itself up in front of Jaden and reflected the locusts back at Titan's monsters. Thus destroying both Infernal Queen Archfiend and Terror King Archfiend.

"How dare you?!" grunts Titan, shocked at this outcome.

"How? Cause I'm daring, I guess." replied Jaden.

"Well let's see how daring you are after this!" said the smirking Titan. "I'm using Desrook Archfiend's special effect."

"It allows me to resurrect Terror King Archfiend by sending this card to the Graveyard!"

"Say hello to a not so old friend."

And once again, Terror King Archfiend appeared on the field.

"Him again?" Jaden said in annoyance.

"And now I activate the effect of the Field Spell Card, Pandemonium! It's powerful magic allows me to draw a new Archfiend, if one of my Archfiend monsters is ever sent to the Graveyard." laughed Titan. "Of course, this new Archfiend can't be as powerful, but then my Terror King Archfiend is packing more than enough power as it is!"

"Now let's try this again! Locust Storm Barrage!"

Locusts flew out of the fiend's abdomen, heading straight for Jaden.

"Go Emergency Provisions!"

"This Spell Card allows me to sacrifice another Spell or Trap card, and give me back 1000 Life Points!" explained Jaden.

Jaden: 2000 + 1000 = 3000

The locust blast hit Jaden head on, draining his Life Points.

Jaden: 3000 - 2000 = 1000

"You still stand?!" said Titan in shock, Jaden in turn giving him a grin.

"As long as I got two good legs!" said Jaden.

Titan just laughed and pulled out his Millennium Item again.

"But your legs are not good and now with this latest strike on your Life Points neither are your arms!"

The Item glowed again, and Jaden saw more of his body vanishing. As the duel went on, Yuna noticed something about the Duel, given her experience of Shadow Games.

'Something's not right, all the Shadow Games I've seen aren't like this. And from what I remember what Yugi and the others told me...'

-Flashback-

"It was like a dome of darkness surrounded the duel area, isolating Pegasus and I from the outside world..." she remembered Yami saying.

"We tried to get in from Yugi's side, but whenever we tried running through it, we popped out on Pegasus' side." Tristan said.

"It hurts getting attacked when playing a Shadow Game, you feel every Life Point drain away from your soul every time you're attacked, and it's no hologram..." Yugi explained, while in his spirit form.

-Flashback End-

'If that's the case, then...this isn't an actual Shadow Game!' thought Yuna, squinting to look closer at the Item Titan held.

The Item Titan may have been similar to the Millennium Puzzle, but there was something off. For starters, it didn't have the intricate grooves that formed the Puzzle's many pieces, and the centerpiece was off too. It resembled more of a serpent's eye then the Eye of Wdjat.

'Wait....fog....lights....this is....'

"Woo!" "Woo!" came two squeaks.

Snapping out of her thoughts, Yuna saw Kuriboh and Winged Kuriboh floating around where Titan's Item was....it was hypnotizing....wait....THAT'S IT!

'This is just some cheap trick!' thought Yuna, clenching her hands into fists.

Jaden seemed to realize this too, as he got up, more determined than ever.

"Well no more, I got this Shadow Game Scam figured out." he said.

"Did he just say Shadow Game Scam?" Chumley asked, confused.

"What's he mean?" asked Syrus, also confused at this new information.

"He means that this isn't a real Shadow Game." Yuna explained. "This guy had us all fooled."

"Yup, my soul's not on the serving plate anymore!" agreed Jaden, drawing a card. "Let's keep going! My Turn!"

'Attaboy Jaden! Show this guy who's boss!' smiled Yuna.

Turn 8

"First I'm gonna activate Dark Catapulter's Special Ability!"

"It allows me to remove one card from my Graveyard for every turn Catapulter was in Defense Mode! Then for every card I remove, I get to destroy one Trap or Spell Card out in play! So since he was in Defense Mode for one turn, I'll remove Avian, and now I'll destroy your Pandemonium card!" explained Jaden. "Storm Shower Blast!"

Jaden's Graveyard glowed, sending a massive electric ball towards Titan's Field Spell slot. It cause Pandemonium to crumble, now back to the stone chamber it was before.

"So what, you still haven't destroyed this!" scoffed Titan, holding up his "Item."

"You wanna be careful what you wish for." Jaden said, pulling out Avian's card. "You might just get it!"

He threw the card at the fake Item, leaving a big laceration in the middle of the eye, the card sticking out of the fake material.

"What did you do?!" demanded Titan as his illusions on Jaden wore off.

"Alright Jaden, you got your body back!" cheered Syrus.

"He never lost it, Sy." Yuna told the cyan haired boy. "This whole Shadow Game is just one big fake."

"Huh?!"

"It was all just hypnosis." explained Jaden. "A whole lot of smoke and mirrors to make me think I was losing my soul. This guy is a complete sham. I mean, he's probably some out of work carnie!"

"I'm not out of work, I can get my job at the fair back anytime I want." retorted Titan.

"Yeah, I'm sure that you could." retorted Yuna. "And I'm sure that paper-mache Millennium Item goes over well with the kiddies."

"No! Be quiet! It's real! I am real!"

"You're a sideshow phony." smirked Jaden.

Then Titan realized something, "You fools you forget. The girl!"

"Alexis!"

"That's right, imprisoned in her Shadow Tomb. Her soul is festering in the dark recesses of the Netherworld." grinned Titan, holding up the "Item" again. "That proves that this Millennium Pendent is real! What do you have to say to that?!"

"Besides that your a big dunce." Jaden retorted. "That isn't real, in fact, we have our own Millennium Item Shadow Game Expert on our side. Right Yuna?"

"You're the idiot here phony. You know why?" Yuna said, glaring her violet orbs at Titan. "That so called "Item" you have there isn't called the Millennium Pendent. If we're going by what it looks like, then it looks a lot like the Millennium Puzzle. But you got some details wrong."

"So what if I got the name wrong, that doesn't prove anything!" yelled Titan.

"The Millennium Item were sealed away forever, never to be seen again. No one can ever recover them, not even the owner of this school, and he's all "Screw the Rules, I have Money!" He tried and he almost got himself killed." Yuna said. "Believe me I was there."

"Just who are you anyway! There's no way you can know this!"

"Doesn't matter! Now give us Alexis back and all the other kids you took too!" demanded Yuna.

"Other kids? I don't know what you're talking about." scoffed Titan. "And because of your earlier Carnie comment, you can find your friend by yourself!"

Titan threw a smoke bomb and tried to make a run for it.

"No way, you're not getting out of here that easily." said Jaden, running after the man. "C'mere!"

However, the snake heads on the surrounding wall started to glow. The lights connected in the center and revealed the Eye of Wdjat on the floor!

"Oh no!" gasped Yuna. "Jaden! Get out of there!"

But it was too late, the shadows swirled together and trapped Jaden and Titan. A large mass of darkness stood in front of the three remaining Slifer students.

"Uh Yuna, what's happening?!" squeaked Syrus, he and Chumley hugging each other in fear.

Yuna stared at the dome of darkness, recalling various memories.

"It's a Shadow Dome, Sy." explained Yuna. "And since Jaden and Titan are in there, chances are, there's an actual Shadow Game going on in there."

"A-An actual Shadow Game?!" whimpered Chumley.

Yuna nodded, "You never mess with the Shadow Games, and from what Titan did, upset those living in the Realm of Shadows. He will be punished for messing with the Shadows."

She then glanced to the coffin that held Alexis, which was on the other side of the dome.

"We should get Alexis out of there now." suggested Yuna. "Come on!"

But since Chumley and Syrus were still processing what was going on, Yuna took it upon herself to run over to her unconscious friend and began to untie the rope around her wrists. Just in time too, as Jaden popped out of a tear in the Shadow Dome, with Winged Kuriboh looking solid. Seems he won the duel.

"Hey Jay, you alright?" asked Yuna, throwing away the rope.

"Never better guys!" greeted the teen with a grin.

"What happened in there?" asked Chumley, but then noticed the dome acting strange. "DUCK!"

Chumley grabbed onto Syrus and the three Slifer boys hit the deck while Yuna cover Alexis with her body. The coffin slipped to the ground thanks to the wind that it produced. Luckily, the dome vanished, leaving the chamber empty. Jaden stood up clapping, thinking it was one of Titan's tricks.

Yuna slowly got up and flicked Jaden on the forehead.

"That wasn't a trick ya dummy." she said. "That was real."

Jaden nervously laughed as Yuna went on a long winded speech on how that Dome he was in was the actual Shadow Realm and what could happen if he lost. Meanwhile, Syrus and Chumley went to get Alexis out of the coffin, seeing as she was still unconscious.

By the time the quintet got outside, it was already daytime. They basically spent the whole night in the Dorm. At this time, Alexis was slowly starting to wake up.

"Well well, good morning sleepy head." greeted Jaden, as carefree as ever.

"Morning Alexis." greeted Yuna with a smile.

Alexis looked around, "Where am I? What are you all doing here?"

"Hold on, what kind of thank you is that?" joked Jaden. "We're here cause we had to to find the bad guy, win the duel, and rescue the damsel in distress."

"Yeah, that's true," said Alexis, remembering what happened before she knocked out. "That strange man snatched me."

"Oh yeah, we found your card," said Yuna, taking Etoile Cyber out of her pocket and handing her over to Alexis.

Jaden then took something out of his pocket, "And this too."

It was a picture of her big brother.

"This is the first trace of him I've seen in a long time." she whispered.

"We wanted to let you know that we'll help you find him." Yuna said, placing a hand on her shoulder.

"We don't need you getting locked up in anymore tombs searching for him all by yourself." added Jaden.

Then the morning sun shone through the treetops.

"Uh oh, sun's up Jay." Yuna pointed out. "We better get back before they notice that we're gone."

The four Slifers stood up, saying goodbye before making tracks towards their dorm.

"Oh and if anyone asks, we were never here!" Jaden called back.

'But you were, and you saved me.' thought Alexis. 'And now I still might be able save my brother too...'
