Part 3

When I got up the next day I slapped on some clothes, threw on my millennium bell and bolted out the door and to the park Yugi told to be at. And I DID NOT want to be late!! Today was just as important to me as yesterday was! When I arrived at the park I was a little early so I walked over to the closest bench and collapsed “huff, huff, huff! I-I made it! Phew!” I sat there for a while then decided to rest a bit while I waited so I closed my eyes. A few minutes passed and I heard someone, I think it was Yugi, say “Kari, are you ok?” I jolted up in response to find Yugi, Joey, Tristan and Tea all looking at me smiling. “Man Kari, you look beat” Joey looked mad at the situation “yea! What happened?! Is someone picking on you?!” Tristan looked mad as well “uh n-no I was just running over here cause I didn’t want to be late and I wanted make a good impression on who I was meeting cause Yugi said---“ “well isn’t that nice” I heard someone say from a distance.  “Kari meet Atem” Yugi pointed to a tall man that looked just like him I got up at bowed respectfully he just smiled “I-it’s very nice to meet you” I managed to say finally “it is very nice to meet you as well Kari. Yugi told me a lot about you” Atem said right back with a smile that calmed me down... Maybe a little too calm… my body pulsed I ran and hid behind a tree “crap!” I thought “Kari? What’s wrong” Atem said while walking my way the others following “uh-oh!!!!NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!” I screamed in my head… but I showed my head my ears flickered the guy’s stopped and stared… then… smiled?! “Is that all you wanted to hide?!” Joey said “come on out” Tea encouraged “yea come on!” Tristan agreed “I think that it’s cool that you have cat ears!” Yugi commented “come on Kari, were all friends right?” Atem calmed. I stepped up, smiled and walked over… I really do have friends that I can trust!! "Every day is something new" as my mom always said!!
