This card is underrated...

Pot of Desires, known as Pot of Greed and Avarice in Japan, is a Normal Spell card that, upon activation, forces you to banish the top 10 cards of your Deck face-down to draw 2 cards.

This card has seen lots of competitive play in the meta in both the TCG and OCG lately. The Yu-Gi-Oh community seems to be split on this card. Some say that it is amazing, while others say it is one of the worse draw cards in the game.

I must strongly disagree.

In fact, I'd say that Desires is one of the, if not the, best draw Spell Card in today's Yu-Gi-Oh meta game.

One of the many complaints I see about Desires is that it's too much of a gamble card. You have to banish essentially 1/4 of your Deck, only to draw 2 cards. While that is a fair point, Pot of Desires works at it's best when played strategically, and even then, only in certain Decks. Decks that run all of their power cards at three, such as ABCs or Trickstars, can confidently run Pot of Desires due to the odds of them banishing all of their ABC pieces or Candinas being slim to none. 

The idea with Desires is that you run it at two or three, preferably the latter, as running it at three allows you to see it more frequently in your hand, and it gives you a higher chance of banishing your other two Desires in your Deck as opposed to cards that will help further advance your plays in the future, while in turn, allowing you to get a +2 to your hand and give you card advantage against your opponent.

In short, I'd recommend giving Desires a chance before you write it off as worthless. Pot of Greed is probably gonna remain on the ban list permanently (quoting MegaCapitalG, we're gonna slap a kappa on that one). But until the day that Pot of Greed ascents from the depths of ban list hell, Pot of Desires is an exceptional substitute.

Hell, it's even named after it in the OCG.
