Chapter 3: New Friends
"Hey Elizabeth, you wanna have lunch with my friends and I?" Téa asked me. I was on my way to my locker to put away some books from the previous class.
"Sure thing!" I grinned. "I'll be right there as soon as I put my books in my locker. My new friend nodded and walked off, leaving me to go to my locker and think about the day. It was so far good, nothing bad or crazy happened and Téa was very kind to me. I opened the creaky door of my locker and dropped off my books, grabbing a small novel to read for fun. I closed it and turned to leave, only to see three girls and two guys standing beside me. "Yo!" I said, being friendly. "What's up?" They didn't answer me. One guy from the little group walked towards me and snatched the book from my hand.
"Would you look at that?" the guy snickered. "The new kid's a bookworm!" I growled and tried to get the book back. The bully held the book higher, and practically out of my reach. The group laughed as I yelled,
"Give me back my book!"
"Aww," she wants it back," one of the girls teased. "Better watch out!" The bully only laughed at my yelling and threw my book across the hallway. That only made me angrier, but I kept my composure and glared at the boy, who chuckled.
"Well, aren't you going to get it?" he asked, smirking. I sighed, a little annoyed, and began to walk towards where he threw my book. He then grasped my shoulders and crashed my back into the locker. "Listen, you're not one of us," he snarled. "And you'll never be one of us! Got it?" I didn't answer back. I only gritted my teeth and gulped, preparing for whatever is coming to me. "GOT IT?!"
"Hey, let that girl go!" a voice exclaimed. I turned to whoever it was and found a boy with dirty blonde hair, standing there with three other people besides him. Téa was one of the three but I wasn't sure about the other two.
"Come on, this kid needs to know how different schools are here in this country," the bully said.
"Although she's from America, it doesn't mean things are really different!" Téa exclaimed. "I'm sure there's plenty of people like you where she's from!"The bully growled and grabbed me, still looking at Téa. He threw me to the floor and walked off with his friends, snickering at me quietly. "Are you okay?" my friend asked, worried. I stood up and wiped some dust off of me.
"Yeah, I am," I said in relief. "No scratches."
"Great! Elizabeth, meet my friends Joey, Tristan, and Yugi."
"Hey~" the boy with dirty blonde hair said with a flirty smile. I knew his smile and tone of voice too well. Out of instinct, I immediately punched him in the face. The other three were shocked with their eyes wide.
"Oops," I chuckled nervously. "My reflexes went off again.
