Carly: As Kaiba had mentioned earlier, this is the primer or pre-show before we begin with the 2nd part of the 1st round of the Duel League Championship tournament. I am one of your presenters, backstage correspondent, Carly Carmine!

Tea: I am Tea Gardner, one of the pre-show hosts.

Tristan: Tristan Taylor, also one of your pre-show hosts

Chazz: - mumbles - all because of Wheeler being on the main commentary team...

Tristan: What was that you little brat?

Chazz: Oh shut up! - realizes he's live - Oh, THE Chazz Princeton, also one of the pre-show hosts.

Carly: So, 2nd half of 1st Round. We've seen a lot of dominating performances as well as some that went down the wire. What do you guys think about it?

Tea: It's quite fascinating to see such performances 

Tristan: Most of them were sweeps as one of the duelists never lost life points. 

Chazz: Well at least they made their opponents writhe and humble them bit by bit

Carly: Well yes but right now, we will flash again the brackets of the 2nd part of the 1st round

Tea: A lot of interesting match ups there.

Tristan: Yeah, I bet a lot of dominating performances too.

Chazz: Simpleton! This is where I and Carly, WHO ACTUALLY DUEL, come in. You two are just sidekicks to Yugi and that mongrel mutt Wheeler.

Tristan: Well you're doing pre-shows, eh Chazz?

Chazz: Oh you better put a sock on...

Tea: Hey hey! Let's not do anything rash and suspension-worthy!

Carly: Going back, we go bracket by bracket and lucky us, everyone ...well almost everyone is available for the pre-show. For the opener, we have Vaan and Odin live from their locker rooms. So Vaan, we saw your performance and you went off on Hiro in your qualifier and on the 7th turn you went on a rampage!

Vaan: Well he thought Clock Tower Prison could save him, but sadly it was not enough for me to deal the final blow with my coalition of fiends and fairies.

Carly: Any thoughts on your opponent, Odin?

Odin: First, I thank you for welcoming me here. Thing is, it was quite impressive but you, my kind sir only won because your foe had a bad hand! It will be a different story when you face the Nordics and the Aesirs. Let's see if your dominance will still hold.

Vaan: Well, you saw the 7th turn. I will do what I can to recreate that 7th turn

Odin: Good luck with that!

Tristan: And they will be on the opener - Vaan and Odin's feeds close - Onto the duel that follows that, AK v. Crow and we have both here also via their locker rooms and gentlemen we thank you both for joining us here.

AK: Pleasure is mine that you all thought to invite me.

Crow: Oooh cocky now are we?

Tristan: Anyway, AK we saw your skill and...

AK: Let me stop you there before you begin to blow smoke and allow you to sing my praises. I dispatched my foe...what's his name again and now I am here to face this relic of the past who parades himself as Yusei Fudo. Just as my adoptive father has awakened in me, a killer instinct and ruthlessness both in business and in dueling

Tristan: Seeing as Seto is your adoptive father, wouldn't that mean you entering this tournament puts you more in an advantage than...

Tristan: So, Crow, how do you see your opponent? 

Crow: So he can just dismiss me as some Yusei Fudo wannabee. Coming from someone who copies "Daddy Dearest". I will show Mister Alex Kaiba that before he brings out Blue Eyes, he has to go through Junk Warrior or Scrap Dragon. I will make him re-evaluate the meaning of dueling. - exits -

Tea: Wow, anyway onto the next pair Draco v. Pattou. We have both here and Pattou, we saw an amazing performance from you, but you were the first to break the streak in perfect life points after duels.

Pattou: Thank you for having me here. Just as my foe, Tempest thought he can interrupt my turn, I repaid the favor and destroyed his game plan. I kept at it with my Dark Magician and finished the duel.

Tea: Quite impressive and what can you say of your opponent in the next duel?

Pattou: I am looking forward to face him.

Draco: Oh shut it with the humility psy war. You're no humble duelist. You're a braggart. You abandoned your protege...

Pattou: We're talking about my duel. That is not about how I beat Tempest

Draco: I will make you face Blue Eyes and let's see until where your 2500ATK power beatstick can get you. I will march ahead and say this foe of mine needs to be taken down 2 notches and above and I will advance to possibly face my tag partner who also advanced to the 2nd part of the 1st round. Pattou, you will be my stepping stone to ensure I win my own title.

Tea: Okay, this will be quite exciting and both have left the feed...

Chazz; Up next is Dino and Blaze and finally I get my own time. So Dino, you finished off Cloud in 8 turns? Never expected any less from one as wealthy as myself.

Dino: Hey brother, thanks. Old is gold and dinos are the way to go. 

Chazz: What can you say of your opponent? 

Dino: Geez, Blaze? What kind of name is that? Such a pauper name. This one I can see defeating quick like Cloud. Now I don't need to hear that peasant talk as I need to go find more gold and oil.

Chazz: Alright thanks Dino, - to the other hosts - Got invited to the after party. So Blaze, what do you think of Dino?

Blaze: Arrogant, selfish, cocky. You can have all the money and possessions in the world but once those burn into cinders and ashes, it all returns to nothingness. My friend may be so caught up in grandeur and fantasies of wealth. He will be before the fires that burn will make him realize late that he lost the duel and got eliminated.

Chazz: Strong words. Good luck with that. And oh, the rotation I get to interview Strike and Wilde. So Strike, pretty impressive and powerful performance.

Strike: Any means necessary to win against any adversary

Wilde: Oh shut it! You got nearly beat and would have been beat...

Strike: I will not be stopped. I took down your brother and I sure as hell can take you down too. 

Wilde: Oh you daring me? I cannot wait to make the warrior bend once gladiator beasts come in...

Tea: Anyway, before that devolves into chaos, we have Irvine and Viper.

Irvine: Thank you for having me Tea.

Viper: Whatever, I just want to see the competition

Tea: Irvine, quite impressive countering a supposed early favorite in Frost

Irvine: Well, he is an early favorite for a reason. Ice Barrier monsters are quite deadly once the conditions meet. Luckily I was able to dispatch him before he began ebbing away at my strength. And I still respect Frost for the performance.

Viper: He took it easy on you, ya rookie! Once you face off against me, I will beat you down and cripple down your deck before you begin link summoning. 

Irvine: Quite rude to interrupt or pre-empt the woman from asking you a question

Viper: Alright, what do I think of you? Fresh meat about to be decimated and torn off the bone. You're an easy elimination for me to be champion

Irvine: Good luck with that.

Tristan: Alright and we have Ryu and Xavi. Both are luckily here.

Ryu: Well thank you for having us.

Xavi: My thanks citizen

Tristan: Ryu, that was quite an impressive victory you were able to pull off earlier. Just as everyone thought you were beat with the Crush Card Virus, you fought back and here you are, now in the 2nd half of the 1st round 

Ryu: Well, I know he had some beef with someone who advanced but that did him in. He was arrogant and proud, I used it to my advantage when he began making missteps. 

Tristan: That is true but Xavi, how do you view your opponent?

Xavi: This one will be quite the challenge. I have to outclash you before you begin destroying yourself and arming your Rokkets. Luckily I can dispatch you with my Geminis and warriors

Ryu: I look forward to you facing off against me. 

Carly: And the last pairing is Fenix and Vade...only thing is, Fenix is available as we are for some reason, unable to catch Vade.

Fenix: Thank you for having me here still

Carly: Quite an impressive win earlier. Going down the wire when we all thought the Phantom Knights were going to do you in.

Fenix: I can describe it as defying the destiny Wallace had in mind. But not to take away from him, he is quite the foe and able to have me summon Plasma and Dogma in one duel. Also Dreadmaster.

Carly: Well that is... - signal breaking - it seems - signal break and cutting-

Vade: So.... my next opponent claims that they can defy destiny? How can you defy destiny when you face not just ghosts but fiends, sacred beasts...and gods themselves? Can you run to anyone to save you? My foe, you will be merely decimated and torn apart like a feeble prey. Until we meet - signal restored -

Carly: Oh we got back. And ..woah that was Vade?

Fenix: Things are beginning to look interesting. I wanna face him and see where this goes.

Carly: And there we have it for the pre-show. Tomorrow we will begin with the 2nd half of the 1st round with Odin v. Vaan
