Jack: So far, 7 duelists remain clean in the loss column. 10 are now middling, with 6 duelists desperately needing wins.

Joey: So we are starting with Hiro v. Fenix once again?

Jack: These two again? Well they did promise a rematch but hopefully we get either a different result or something.

Kaiba: I have to be honest, none of those heroes hold a candle to the Blue Eyes.

Joey: Kaiba, Plasma or Dogma?

Joey: Shut it Wheeler. My Blue-Eyes has no abilities attached. It is powerful as it is with its own raw power.

Jack: Alright, settle down Seto, we have to start with the duels. And by the way, it's about those plying their craft. Not on us whose careers have winded down and are now calling the matches.

Joey: Jack's right.

Kaiba: Yeah, because the only duelist you can beat is the one in the mirror, you mutt!

Joey: I oughtta...

Out came Duke with microphone in hand to a chorus of boos. He did not care as he had a swagger as he came from the crowds and headed to the middle of the duel field.

Jack: Oh come on! We're supposed to have a damn duel right now and he isn't on until later tonight.

Kaiba: Maybe he has some words?

Joey: Words, schmwords, this blowhard is stinking up the place with his big ego.

Kaiba: I would if I took down the Duel League Champion and gave him his first loss.

Duke: Alright, cut my music! Now, here's the thing. -boos growing louder - Really now? This is how you welcome a great man like me? Someone who gave you all dominant, entertaining finishes last time? A workhorse who worked 2 duels unlike these SOFT, PATHETIC excuses of duelists you've ever seen? I took an old dog by the woodshed and with one monster, I pounded the nail in the coffin of the pathetic excuse of a run as a duelist. But that is merely HALF of why I am smiling, because some moron with gold he doesn't deserve and is unfit to hold thinks I am disrespecting everyone. So, where's your face now champ? Huh champ? Come on Irvine, where the hell are you supposed to be? - pauses then looks at the camera - Oh that's right, I mopped the floor with your bum ass! - cackles - You talk so big because of hiding your inexcusable pathetic self behind your link summons and the gold in your hands. Well guess what? You're now middling in the rankings, making you a disgrace to hold that title. So I am staking my claim now, I will be taking that gold off your hands...

Pat comes out from one of the entrance ways and the crowd begins to cheer.

Kaiba: And here comes one of the rising stars.

Joey: Respectable too and with some honor and class

Jack: The man who will face Duke tonight in the main event.

Duke: Oh, I think you may be hard of hearing due to YOUR AGE. But I said I was waiting for Irvine, the Duel League Champion. Not Pat, the guy whose ass got bumped off the Quarter finals of the tournament.

Pat: Real funny Duke. But the reason I stared you down last week was because I see in your cards, strength. Immeasurable power. But you see, I got some cards that I feel will fit better with you. But seeing the egregious amount of disrespect you've shown as you got here as if you run the place, it makes tonight's duel ever more exciting.

Duke: Why the fuck is that?

Pat: If I win, at least I will be entitled to a title shot of my own. And you challenging me, will be my first step to drift away and win the Duel League Championship

Duke: Oh hell no! I will win tonight and show you and everyone of these soft people how I am the future of the Duel League and your has-been era is no more! And come to think of it, I am interested to add more firepower to my collection of Machinas. So when I win tonight, at least I will earn Ancient Gear Golem and those other cards and not be pitifully given them, like the other little bitch whom you handed down Dark Magician.

Pat: You got a problem with me so much? Then we settle this tonight.

Duke: Oh, I will. So hold on to those cards and keep them warm for me, alright, OLD MAN?

The crowd then ooooh-ed at the old man comment as Pat had nothing else to say but just nod and walk back.

Jack: Well, what an exchange between the main eventers. This will be interesting.

Kaiba: That is right, Pat grinds and slows the duel before bringing out his aces. Duke as we've seen brings out the aces as soon as they are in his hand. No extra deck for either man as they will settle this, old style.

Joey: Alright, but we will return to our regularly scheduled programming with our announcer to begin the scheduled duel.

Announcer: This opening contest is a ranked duel!

Hiro: I activate a Trap Card, Battleguard Howling. When a Warrior-Type monster I control is targeted for an attack or an opponent's monster effect, I target 1 face-up monster my opponent controls. I target Masked HERO Anki and inflict damage to my opponent's life points equal to the original ATK of the face-up monster targeted by this card and return that target to the hand, or in this case, back to Extra Deck.

Masked HERO Anki returns to the Extra Deck (2800LP damage to Fenix)

Hiro 3700/ Fenix 3900

Fenix: Battle continues

Destiny HERO-Drilldark (ATK1600) attacks Elemental HERO Shadow Mist (ATK1000). (600LP damage to Hiro; Shadow Mist is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard)

Hiro 3100/ Fenix 3900

Hiro: I activate a Trap Card, Hero Signal. When a monster I control is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, I can special summon 1 Level 4 or lower Elemental HERO monster from my hand or deck, I special summon from my hand, Elemental HERO Neos Alius (LIGHT/4*/Warrior/Gemini/Effect/ATK1900/1300)

Fenix: I end my turn.

Turn 37 (Hiro 3100/ Fenix 3900)
Hiro draws a card

Hiro: Quite impressive, but it all ends here. I summon Elemental HERO Ocean (WATER/4*/Warrior/Effect/ATK1500/DEF1200). Now you pay for your insolence. I activate Masked HERO Koga's effect. I banish Elemental HERO Avian to reduce Destiny HERO-Drilldark's ATK by 1000points! (ATK1600 -> 600)

Joey: Payback will be sweet I bet

Hiro: I am impressed by your ability. But it's time I end this. I activate a Spell Card, Parallel World Fusion. I can Fusion Summon 1 Elemental HERO Fustion Monster from my Extra Deck by shuffling the banished Fusion Materials back to my deck. I shuffle back Elemental HERO Avian and Elemental HERO Neos to Fusion Summon, Elemental HERO Great Tornado (WIND/8*/Warrior/Fusion/Effect/ATK2800/DEF2200). Its effect activates wherein if this card is Fusion Summoned, the ATK and DEF of all face-up monsters my opponent currently controls are now halved!

Due to Elemental HERO Great Tornado
- Destiny HERO - Celestial (ATK/DEF: 600/1400 -> 300/700)
- Destiny HERO - DrillDark (ATK/DEF: 1600/1200 -> 800/600)

Fenix can only angrily stare

Hiro: Quite impressive, but here is where I show Destiny can only go so far. Masked HERO Koga (ATK3500) attack Destiny HERO - Celestial (ATK300). (3200LP Damage to Fenix; Destiny HERO - Celestial is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard)

Hiro 3100/ Fenix 700

Hiro: Elemental HERO Great Tornado (ATK2800) finish off Fenix through Drilldark (ATK800) (2000LP Damage to Fenix)

Hiro 3100/ Fenix 0

Announcer: The winner, Hiro!

Kaiba: What an amazing way to open this edition of Duel League!

Joey: That was quite the Heroic showdown!

Jack: Even if it did end up with a loss, you cannot take away from either duelist for bringing out the best in each one.

Hiro was jubilant in victory but Fenix was crestfallen in disapointment. Hiro then approached Fenix.

Fenix: I was so ....close!

Hiro: Hey, hey, don't worry. You were able to bring out the best of your deck. Just sad I didn't see much of Plasma or Dogma unlike your qualifier but I see you going far

Fenix was feeling a bit reassured and validated. However....

Counter Country arrived with Dino ready to go up next while Viper has a microphone in hand.

Viper: Really? You're supposed to be a newbie? Hell you haven't won not even a single one of your duels? Destiny Heroes huh? They looked so pathetic you couldn't win no matter what!

Cloud: Now now, let's leave him wallowing in his "Destiny" and ....

Viper: And I think and feel, I can beat his ass so bad he can forget being a Hero.

Hiro: You talk too loud you know that?

Viper: This doesn't concern you. We will deal with you after beating down and getting our easy, SWEEP wins against this failure of a duel...

Fenix: I've had it! You got nothing to hold your head high upon. You and I have a lot in common. Destiny holds that I beat you....

Viper: Go cry in the corner. Because I will show you that only YOU - points at Fenix - will be a tragedy. Not a damn hero! Now go watch us win you pathetic turd.

Fenix and Hiro walk away as Viper high fives his tag team partner Cloud for the next duel
