Mark-You're Ok
It was just a normal day like any other. The sun was shining, passing behind a ragged cloud every now and then. A gentle breeze swayed the trees back and forth, causing their branches to wave at people walking by. The world seemed too happy for sorrow that day.
You were sitting on your couch watching (F/S) when your phone made a cheery chirping noise, signalling a YouTube notification. Quickly glancing at the screen, you caught a glimpse of your boyfriend Mark. Yay, he uploaded! you thought happily, a grin spreading across your face. Pausing the show, you picked up your phone and curled up to watch the video.
That's when you noticed that he was crying.
Concern and anxiety bubbled up inside your chest as you hurriedly tapped on the video. The grin slid off your face as Mark began speaking, his voice full of suppressed emotion. Your eyes darted back and forth across the screen as they filled with tears.
Not bothering to even finish watching, you hastily exited YouTube and dialed Mark's number. Putting the phone up to your ear, you stood up and grabbed your keys as it rang.
"Hello?"
You gasped as you heard your boyfriend's choked voice. "Mark, I saw your video! Are you ok?"
Mark sounded strained, as if he was fighting to hold himself together. "Oh, I... I'm fine. Just..." He trailed off, and you heard him sniffle.
"Listen," you spoke sternly, letting him know that there was no way for him to talk you out of this. "I'm on my way to you right now. I'll be there in a few minutes, ok?"
As expected, Mark started to argue with you. "No, no, you don't need-"
"Mark!" you practically yelled into the receiver. "I'm coming over, and that's final!"
He sighed. "I know I can't stop you. It's just, I don't want to... I don't want you to see me like this..."
You took a moment to reply. "Mark, this is tough for you," you started, "and I get it. I'm not going to judge you or anything. I just know that you need someone right now, and I'm going to be that someone for you."
Mark didn't speak for what seemed like forever, then he whispered, "Get here safe, please. I love you."
"I love you, too."
You drove to Mark's house in a kind of numbed reality. How could something so horrible happen like this? you kept thinking over and over. Your eyes gazed, unseeing, at two young boys playing together on a nearby playground, laughing loudly. Content couples strolled down sidewalks, and an older woman walking her dog waved as you drove past. You silently marveled to yourself how everyone could be so happy when there was a family out there right now, devastated and grieving in such pain...
Parking in Mark's driveway, you exited your car and almost ran up to his front door. Peering inside, you saw him rapidly pacing back and forth, anxiously chewing on his lower lip. Your soft knock made him snap his head around and meet your (E/C) eyes with his red ones. He yanked open the door and stood there, staring at you. You stared back, not knowing what to say. So instead, you slowly reached out for him, welcoming him into your arms. He gladly accepted, hugging you back tightly.
Sobs began to course through Mark's body as you stood there, holding each other. "It's not... fair," he gasped out between breaths. "It's not fair, (Y/N)!"
"I know, I know," you began whispering, trying to soothe him. "It's ok, it's going to be ok..."
He looked at you, tears running down his cheeks. You hated seeing him like this; you couldn't bear it. Tears spilled down your own face as you gazed back at him. "It's ok," you repeated. "You're ok..."

Hey, guys. In case you're wondering, something bad did happen today. Mark posted a video that explained that he won't be uploading for a while because he just found out that his niece, Miranda, was killed in a car accident. I feel so bad for him, and I really hope that he and his niece's family will be ok. I just wanted to make an imagine to honor Miranda, and let you guys know. Please send as much love as you guys can to her family. I'm completely sure that Mark would really, really appreciate it.
