Fire Alarms- Smornby
Ross' blue eyes opened widely at the sound of blaring alarms. This was quite a strange occurrence at his new apartment, as it was usually very quiet in this neighborhood. Sitting up quickly, he reached for his phone and saw that it was 12:02, inwardly groaning at this as he pushed his covers off of his newly set up bed. The chill air hit his bare... well bare everything. He always slept naked, and at a time like this it wasn't a good thing.
He could practically imagine the flames engulfing his apartment building, only him stuck inside because he couldn't find any clothes anywhere. Today was laundry day, after all, and Ross did this strange thing where he wore absolutely every item of clothing in his closet before doing his laundry. He decided it was a good way to conserve water, just his way of contributing to helping the planet, but at the moment, that wasn't a very good idea.
The dark haired man scrambled around looking for clothes, just some form of clothing at all. Sweat pants, a t-shirt, even some boxers for Christ's sake because he was definitely not going to be one of those people that ran out of their house butt naked.
After scrambling around for quite a few minutes, stubbing his toe multiple times on the leg of his desk and bed and the side of his wardrobe, he finally managed to find blue sweatpants, and slippers. He quickly grabbed his phone and keys off of his bedside table, cursing under his breath as he ran out of his apartment. He grabbed his hoodie off of the counter before running out the door and closing it behind him.
He ran out into the hallway looking around to see complete darkness except for the occasional white flash of the fire alarm. He groaned, forgetting where exactly he was supposed to go. Ross had only moved in four days ago though, surely they hadn't expected him to know all of this information. The dark haired man just assumed to go down the elevator and make his way to the bottom floor and out of the building, so that's just what he did.
Ross Hornby strode down the dark corridor, the light flashing around him like a strobe light, and the alarm still blaring obnoxiously. He slipped on his hoodie as he went, and as he reached the elevator he was disappointed to find the "OUT OF ORDER" sign taped onto the doors. "You have got to be kidding me," he shook his head, as he instead reached for the glass door next to it that lead to the staircase, only to find that that was locked.
He turned back, heading back towards his apartment murmuring curses under his breath. The alarm had stopped screeching now, but the lights were still flashing and making Ross sort of dizzy as he walked towards the dark hallway- the dark hallway which he assumed was empty.
Because of that, he was very caught off guard when at the end of the corridor he saw a black shadow standing there. He was quite tall, and in the dark he sort of reminded Ross of Slender man, although when the light flashed it revealed a tall man.
"Hello," Ross called, startling the man who quickly turned towards Ross.
"Oh, hello," the man responded walking towards Ross. As he got closer, Ross realized that this guy was only dressed in boxers, and was quite attractive with red hair and stubble covering his face.
"Do you know where we are supposed to go," Ross asked as he was now standing in front of the stranger. Yes, this man was quite attractive, making Ross blush slightly realizing that he was nearly naked.
"Downstairs," the stranger replied, although he sounded a bit unsure and it sounded more like a question.
"I just tried that, mate. The elevators aren't working and the door to the stairs is locked," Ross replied, awkwardly rubbing the hair on the back of his neck.
"Well shit, you think it was a serious fire," the man asked.
"I'm sure if it was, they would be in here looking for us right now... I didn't get your name by the way," Ross replied, changing the subject in his favor.
The red head raised an eyebrow, smirking as he replied," Alex Smith. You?"
"Ross Hornby," Ross muttered, enjoying the sound of Alex Smith. It flowed so nicely, and it fit the handsome man very well.
"Well then, Ross Hornby, may I request we hang out some time," Alex chuckled.
"Yes, will you wear clothes next time," Ross asked, although he did enjoy the sight of the taller man's body, he would rather not be blushing like a maniac next time he sees him. He was actually lucky it was dark and his blush was hidden by the shadows.
"Dunno, mate. Looks like you would rather me not," Alex replied, leaning down close to Ross making the slightly shorter of the two gulp.
"I-I um," Ross laughed awkwardly, stuttering out no audible words making Alex smile.
"You are quite adorable when you are flustered," Alex chuckled, carressing Ross' pink tainted cheek.
Ross took a deep breath, mustering up a flirty reply," Well, you are quite hot in your underwear."
They were both silent for a moment, Ross realizing how stupid that sounded and Alex trying to hold in his laughter. "Shutup," Ross shouted, crossing his arms as Alex burst into laughter.
"Thanks for the compliment mate," he breathed out in between laughs, making Ross' cheeks blush even more.
"Yeah... Well sorry I am not good at flirting, when the person I am flirting with is nearly naked."
"It's fine. So, want to come over tomorrow?"
Ross smiled," Sure... Ya know, maybe the fire alarms went off because of you, ya know since your so hot."
"That, was much better."
"Thank you, see you then."
