"Hey, love, are you sure you want to go out at this time? Just for a drive? I could come with you."
Patton stood by the front door of his house, Logan standing in front of him. Patton had a hoodie on, his murder gloves and knife safely tucked away in the front pocket. He hadn't even really felt like coming up with an excuse to leave this time, honestly. He just wanted to go and do this.
Especially since Logan had offered to go with someone to check out a location Remy might be in- go and check it out with Chase. Chase would probably kidnap him and then bring him to Remy, so Remy could kill him.
So, Patton had to get to them first.
"I'm sure, Lo. I'll be fine!"
"Are... are you sure? It's only a drive, I would love to come with you, too."
"I'm sure, honey. I just want to go on a quick drive by myself."
Logan blinked a few times. "I... erm... alright. I can't say no to you, can I?" He chuckled sadly. "Just- please be safe. Alright? Come home soon. I love you. I love you so much, alright?"
Patton smiled. "I love you too Logan. I'll be home soon, okay? You're acting like I'm gonna be gone for, like, ever."
Logan just sighed at that and leaned forward, giving Patton a generous kiss. When they pulled away Patton smiled one more time before slipping out the door and into the car.
The drive was short- he used the address he had gotten from his... unknown number friend, and arrived at the house very quickly. It was one story, but it was tall and slightly raised so it probably had a basement. It obviously had three people living in it, so the extra space was probably nice.
Patton got out of his car and walked up, and the first thing he noticed was that the camera wires weren't cut.
But, Patton was horrible with tech, and obviously just assumed they were off already and forgot the fact that he had been asked to wait until next week to do this.
Patton made his way inside and took gentle footsteps, exploring throughout the house. He reached his hand into his pocket and grabbed his knife, listening for any type of sound.
Eventually, he heard noise coming from what looked like a closet or pantry door. But, upon opening, it was a door to the basement he had suspected them of having. It sounded like the three boys were having a gaming party of some sort, probably playing some game on an Xbox or something.
He was careful not to make the stairs creak, though that was a bit hard. Luckily the guys didn't seem to notice any noise behind them.
Patton got to the bottom of the stairs. It was only when Patton started to step closer that one of the boys noticed who was behind him.
He brought the knife out from his pocket.
"Ah- oh my god. Oh god- Remy, wait, hold on, I- please don't kill me, I just-"
The one that Patton recognized to be Chase continued stammering, the other two staring in pure terror at Patton. One of them slowly started to stand up, but Patton didn't notice.
No... he didn't.
Because Chase called him Remy.
They didn't even know who Remy looked like! Of course they would think someone coming to kill him would be Remy, right? Why, though? Were Remy and Patton actually that similar? No. No way. No way, in the history of anything would Patton have a single characteristic that resembled Remy.
He heard footsteps start to walk past him and he was driven out of his dazed state, quickly turning around and bringing the knife forward. It ended up in the person's arm and they continued to try and stagger off until Patton got to his back, stabbing him.
The other two stood up as the person collapsed, having been stabbed in the spinal cord. Patton quickly turned on his heel and stabbed Chase, who was closest to him, right between his ribs. He got the third person in the side and then in the heart. While that person was bleeding out on the floor, he went over to the other two and stabbed them in the heart as well to finish the job off.
And, with three dead bodies laying around him, Patton crumpled into a ball on the ground.
He had never really been one to have a mental breakdown after murdering someone, he was well past that at this point. But they called him Remy. Could that mean something?
...
He had to stop.
Not murdering, god no- he had to stop getting upset over these things. Last time he murdered someone he almost got caught because he screamed. If he hung around here for any longer than the police might show up and arrest him.
Which would leave Remy out and about, free to murder Logan and Patton just having to sit by and not be able to do anything about it.
And... he wasn't like Remy. Why? Motives.
Remy was out to kill because Logan was Patton's husband, and because Remy wanted Patton to himself. Even though he didn't seem to understand that Patton would never love him back. But Patton was killing to protect Logan. Remy's problem back in high school could have just been solved by confessing his feelings. Patton's couldn't be solved by that.
Communication definitely wasn't that important in a healthy relationship, right?
Right.
So Patton went home.
When he got home, he very quickly made his way inside to find Logan sitting on the couch. He was staring at some pictures in their living room, one of the two of them at their wedding, one of Patton and his brother, and one of Patton and his friend Roman.
"...Logan? I'm home," Patton quietly greeted. Logan's head snapped towards him, and he let out a relieved sigh, getting up and walking over to him.
"Hey- hey love. How was your drive? Are you okay? Did you see anyone or anything weird?"
Logan wrapped his arms very tightly around Patton, and Patton blinked a few times, realizing that the knife in his pocket is probably dangerous being that close to Logan.
Patton quickly hugged back before stepping back. "Uh, no, nothing odd happened. Hold on, I need to go to the bathroom real quick okay? I'll be right back."
"Oh, okay."
Patton very quickly made his way upstairs and hid his knife and gloves, before walking downstairs again. Logan pulled him onto the couch and held him very close.
"...You okay, Logan?"
"Yes, I'm alright. I just missed you."
"Did anything happen while I was gone?"
"Hmm? Oh, no. Of course not. Nothing odd."
"Okay... okay. Do you wanna go upstairs, though? Like, that's probably more comfy, right? It's late, too, we might as well go to sleep."
"Let me carry you."
"I- oh, okay."
Patton giggled very gently as his husband sat up, swooping him into his arms bridal-style. Logan held Patton close as they made their way upstairs, and eventually sat him on their bed before grabbing him some shorts to wear to bed. Both quickly got changed and got underneath the covers of their bed, where Logan held Patton closer than ever.
"I love you, Pat."
"I love you too, Logan."
Patton couldn't really tell what... but Logan was off.
Huh.
That's... odd.
