Greetings from the Guild. It's been a while since we've done one of these.

As you can tell by the - rather solemn - title, we've got an announcement of sorts to make. Because of the serious nature of this post, we're not including jokes, party parrots or anything like that.

Okay, yes, we are. And if you don't read until the end, the parrots will be sad -

- so stay for them, at least?

We know that we promised you more consistent updates of what's going on and more transparency last summer, but we haven't exactly been delivering that. We also promised to keep the Guild alive year-round, which has gone slightly better on the Wattpad side of things.

But we promised honesty. And the truth is, things haven't been alright in the Guild for a while now.

When the Guild first started - way back in May 2016; comment here if you were an OG follower! - there were 8 members: Llyn (LlynWildr), Lani (MulanJiang), Alli (@eosophobic/eosophobias), Mya (shadowsleek), Celin (Abyss-of-Crazy), Tori (TorissaNikole), Rachel (RachelS8766) and Sarah (stardust24601). Stef (seventhstar) blessed us with her presence in July, and Phoebe (sugarcrystals) and Sab (goatsaye) joined when we reached 1,000 followers in August that same year.

Triple kills are overrated, honestly, and we've thus gone for the quadruple - Jenna (OrangeDusk), Amy (elphadora), Nidhi (Grimoira) and Kiff (solidarity_) joined us in June 2017.

And, as you may have noticed, we then died. (I mean, a couple of us are already resident zombies, but you know, figuratively speaking, we died.)

When we revived, we got new members (quadruple kill again... as if we don't have enough zombies as is) - Imogene (corvums), Lucas (kerozeo), Whitney (-starless) and Ray (-rayofsunshine). While we'd like to say we've given you consistent content throughout the year since they joined, we... haven't. A lot of our books haven't been updated in ages, and that's the least of it.

The truth is -

(Honestly, if you're still reading this, you have our condolences.)

(And our respect. That too.)

- we've been dead for a long time. Any efforts you see to maintain the Guild are literally small and isolated. Those of us still active don't know each other, and for the past year, really, we've been putting out content not because we enjoy it, not because we "want" to, but because we feel obliged to. It's not content that you - as our supporters for so long - deserve, it's more of a "let's put this out so we're alive and kicking!" kind of thing. And that's not what the Guild is about. That's not what we promised you, either.

We've been thinking about doing this since last year, and we're finally going to do something about it. We're going to be working on things behind the scenes, becoming sisters (with an awesome brother!) again, and when we come back, we're going to do the refresher we promised - deleting old content, putting out new ones that we want to and that we'll hope you enjoy, and innovating because that's a huge part of design and we want to reflect that.

It culminates to this: Starting today, the Guild is on hiatus. We're not sure when we'll come back - this is probably going to be the first summer we're not fully active for, but we might just be back around August/September. We'll see.

So, this isn't goodbye, guys. It's more of a see you later. If everything goes well, we'll see you very, very soon.
