Part 8: An Unexpected Companion

"Mahir this whole universe works on balance. Since you are here as good and positive energy so as someone has to be here as bad and negative energy. This might restrain you from achieving your goal." Bela voiced out seriously.

Horrified, Mahir wandered his eyes around, searching for the cause of the sudden fire.

"Is there someone else who posses some strange powers like you? " He asked absentmindedly.

"Shut up" With a deadly glare is what all he received.

Bela dispatched herself from the previous surrounding, searching a little far behind the bushes.

Mahir kept following her each action.

He too copied her action of searching in the bushes.
"What are you searching for?" Bela asked Mahir being amused.

What am I searching for? Mahir transferred the question to his conscience.

Smiling sheepishly, "what are you searching for? " He threw back her question back at her.

Shaking her head left to light, muttering an idiot under her breath she continued searching.

"So here you are hiding" Bela pulled out something.

Smiling she showed her fist to Mahir

"You were searching your fist in the bushes? "Mahir asked horrified.

Passing an unimpressed look at his poor attempt she proceeded to open her fist.

There was sitting a miniature squirrel on her palm.

Pastel Pink is colored on her body, rainbow tail, and sparkling blue doe eyes.
She looked cartoonish. It was breathtaking at the same time.

" Such a cute squirrel" Mahir watched her in awe.
He tried to touch her that's when the squirrel again spitfire in anger. Mahir's finger was inches away from getting burnt to ashes.

"T...t...The thing is horrific" Mahir ran to hide behind Bela horrendously.

Bela chuckled at his act, "I thought the thing was a cute squirrel"

"I take my words back," Mahir said in a go as soon as Bela completed.

Bela chuckled at his antics " now come out of your hiding and try calming down the horrific thing of yours "

"Me? " Mahir shot her an unbelievable look.

"Of course" Bela rolled her eyes at him.

Curious, Mahir asked "how can I?Did you by chance hit your head somewhere? Or did you just tripped? "

"Shut up. We are not alike and to your previous question yes you can " Bela shot him an angry glare with a come-out-soon-otherwise-i-will-chop-your-legs-off look.

Mahir came in front of her like an innocent child who was ready for getting scolding for his mistake.

"How? "He asked.

" Keep your palm like this, close your eyes. Try focusing between your eyes and with full confidence convey to your brain that ' you take away the power of fire from the squirrel in front of you' " Bela guided him with a slow gentle voice.

Mahir tried, but he came to know that he failed when the squirrel spits fire just near to his face.

He jumped and again hid behind Bela.

"I can't do this."

"Just. do.it" Bela mouthed with a death glare.

"I... I can't.you just saw I was unsuccessful. I am incompetent "

"So you will stop trying? Remember you saved me from that glass cage? You can do this as well"

"I don't know... It just happened... I "

"Try again" She told him directly looking into his eyes.

And he did. He tried again.

He tried patting the squirrel to see if it worked or not.

As soon as he kept his hand on her head she spits water on his face.

"What did you say? " Bela asked horrified.

"I said I take away her power of fire instead give her power of water. I thought I must give her something if I am taking away something " Mahir said innocently, drenched in water.

Bela facepalmed.

"Mahir Ji just speak only that much I asked you to. No further use of your mind okay?" Bela uttered as if desperately trying to stop herself from launching on him.

"Sorry " He quickly responded and endeavored his mistake.

"Finally " Bela enthused.

Mahir too sat on the grass elated.

"So this was negative energy? " Mahir asked examining the squirrel, trying to see if she was hurt.

"You really think this was all? "
Mahir shook his head.

"Yes, this was just a piece of cake. We have the whole cake to deal with".

" Sounds delicious" Mahir muttered and his stomach supported him by growling.

"I mean it sounds quite adventurous " Mahir looked away embarrassed.

Bela chuckled at him and brought some fruits for Mahir.

He fed Bela when he saw she wasn't eating by trying his own copyrighted poison reason.

He fed the squirrel too although she resisted in the start and tried to bite him but eventually gave up when she saw no harm in eating from a very big dangerous looking man.

"Are we taking her with us?" Mahir asked gently stroking the miniature squirrel, sleeping on his palm.

"Of course, when you are so fond of her" Bela replied smiling.

Mahir nodded at her.

"I am naming her 'gracious'" He voiced out after a comfortable silence between them.

"Gracious" Bela felt it on her tongue, nodding approvingly.

"Let's complete the task left " Bela said while looking at the wheel.

"Sure "

Both got up and moved towards the the wheel.

Smiling, nodding at each other they started the wheel.

As soon as the wheel started, water started flowing.

Both stood there watching the perfect view in front of them.
A rainbow forming just above the waterfall.

Out of nowhere a mermaid came out from one side of the lake and jumped to another side.

Mahir retreated back.

"Did you saw that? " He questioned Bela not believing his eyes.

"What? "

"A mermaid"

"Yes" Bela smiled at him.

He continued looking at her, expecting an answer.

"Everything which is false in your universe is true in this universe".she sighed, " From a unicorn to a mermaid everything " She added.

Mahir anticipated looking at her, not believing her.

Bela let him harrowed, letting to absorb the new found information.

When they moved to another destination, he finally asked.

"How I was able to do the magic? "

"I will tell you, but when the time comes"

"You always say that" Mahir whined annoyed.

"It is all because of the watch? "He said lifting up his right hand, showing her his watch.

"It's not the watch... It's....
