Damian's POV

The morning sunlight danced into the room. It warmed my feet. I opened my eyes and y/n was still asleep clutching Jethro's chicken and his collar was around it. I touched it and the tears fell as I touched the tag we had gotten him in June just after y/n and the dogs moved to Orlando. It was a Winnie the Pooh tag making y/n excited as Winnie the Pooh is her favorite cartoon character.

Ziva nuzzled me and I gave her a hug and kiss. Tony laid on y/n's hip. I pet him.

"We are going to have to take care of Mamí," I said.

"And Papá," murmured y/n.

Her eyes flutter open and she gave me a weak smile. I gave her a smile back and kissed her forehead.

"Want something to eat? Anything you want. Nothing is to big," I said.

"Omelettes?" she asked.

I nodded "You got it," I said as she still held onto me.

"Baby. You gotta let go," I said gently "I'm not leaving you. I promise. You can come with me. We will make breakfast and we will spend the day. Snuggled together. Okay?"

She nodded and she let go.

The doorbell rang as we finished up breakfast and it's a florist. It's flowers several bouquets of them. I grabbed the cards. One was from Fergal and Vero. I hand the card to y/n.

Beans and Luis, I'm so sorry for the loss of Jetty Boy. He was the best boy. We loved him so much. We love you two so much. Hugs, Fergie and Vero.

The next bouquet was from Dominik and Marie.

Y/N and Luis, Sending you love and strength during this time and the loss of Jethro. We love you lots. Dom and Marie.

Yet another bouquet. This one is Demi and Matthew.

We love you two so much. We're sending our deepest condolences. We loved Jetty Boy too. Barry, Luna and Bella also send their love. Hugs and kisses Demi and Matt

The others read.

Y/N sniffled as she looks at the flowers and cards.

"Jethro. Jetty," she smiled fighting tears "He would have been mad about these flowers."

I smiled and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Kissing her temple.

"I know. He smelled every flower on our walks," I said as I rest my chin on the top of y/n's head.

"He did that since he was a puppy," she sobbed.

"Baby. I am so sorry," I said as another doorbell ring and I went to answer it. It's Demi and Matthew looking solemn "Come on in," I said standing aside.

"Where is she?" asked Demi immediately.

"Kitchen," I said.

She walked away and as we came into the kitchen. She was hugging y/n and allowing her to cry into her shoulder. Silent tears fell down Demi's face too.

"I see you guys got the flowers," said Matthew.

"Yes. Thank you," I said.

Y/N pulled back from Demi "Yes. Thank you guys. We love you too," she wipes away tears.

Demi wiped away her own "Jetty Boy was a good boy," she said "We're going to remember him for the rest of our lives. He certainly had me from day one."

Y/N giggled "Me too,"

The moment I walked into the shelter and saw a three month old german shepard puppy. I was done. Jethro came home with me that day. He and I went through everything together. From buying my first home. To bringing home his little brother Tony and baby sister Ziva. We had so many amazing adventures together. We saw the world or so he thought. He was the type of dog who actually stopped to smell the roses. He would smell every flower if I let him as we walked. He was always a good judge of character even if I didn't always listen to him. He always knew when a boyfriend was trash and yes Fergal (@ Finn Balor) I know. I know. You always said Jetty Boy was the best judge of character. He loved you lots Fergie you know that right? Jethro was there for so many first days of school. Last days of school. And all the days in between. He always met me at the door with a smile and a wag of tail. This year he was introduced to an amazing man. An amazing human my boyfriend, the love of my life, Luis (@ archerofinfamy). At first he wasn't sure then Luis gave him his favorite treat chicken. Luis became his best friend (well after Mama). Jethro was so excited to move to Orlando. He got a amazing backyard and all the flowers he could sniff. He also enjoyed the backyard pool even if Papá wasn't thrilled when Jethro cannonballed onto him and his well I think you can guess. Still sorry about that one Honey. 😂 But all in all Jethro y/l/n was the bestest, sweetest, caring, loving and loyal boy. Mama and Papá are going to miss you Jetty Boy. Run free and say hi to Nanna and PopPop for me. Love you to the moon and back.

She wrote on Instagram adding our favorite pictures of Jethro and we got thousands of messages. Telling us how sorry they were or how they knew the feeling of losing a pet. Some even offering to buy us a new puppy but we weren't ready for that and we had agreed when we were we were adopting a shelter dog. Yes the days following losing Jethro was hard but we managed to get through it because we had each other. I was able to get the weekend off and only had to fly out to Texas on Sunday afternoon.
