They spent most of the day figuring things out and Sachi felt a bit better. They went to town and bought her a new phone and whatever else she needed. She made sure to put Renders number in her phone. She was a little wary as they went around town, checking the crowds around them.
"You okay?" her friend asked softly and looked at her.
She nodded, and smiled. "Just... being careful."
She stopped and looked at her for a moment then nodded slowly as she sighed. "Sorry, do you want to go home?"
She shook her head. "We don't have to if you don't want to."
"Sachi... I want you to be comfortable." she said
"I don't want to inconvenience you though...'
"Oh hush child." she teased and looked at her. "You're just fine." she smiled.
She smiled in turn. "Then let's do something fun, Like we used too."
"Oh yes! Like what?" she smiled
She shrugged. "I don't know. Swim, skate, ice cream, something."
"All the above." she grinned and led her to get Ice cream first, Sachi grinned at that.
They sat at the shop as Render bought her ice cream. They laughed and talked for a bit then went to go ice skating. Sachi laughed, and had fun with Render, skating around the rink. The area brought back memories and they continued to skate. Render leap in the air and twirled then landed and skate backwards.
Sachi clapped. "Amazing. She tried to do the jump, but wasn't very good, and almost fell over, she started to laugh. Render laughed and helped her up then smiled at her up. She grinned sheepishly. "Sorry."
"Why are you apologizing? We're having a lot of fun." she said
She shrugged. "I don't know, cause I messed up?"
"So what?" she asked and looked at her. "You're just out of practice is all." she smiled.
She smiled. "Then let's practice." She started skating again. Her friend smiled and they skated for a while longer but had to stop when they got tired. Sachi sat next to Render, she smiled the whole time. It had been nice to do something fun.
"That was awesome." Render smiled at her and put her green hair up.
"It really was." Sachi laughed. "I haven't had this much fun in forever."
"Well we don't have to stop yet." she grinned.
"Where to next?" The blue haired girl asked.
"You said the beach soooo." she smiled brightly.
Sach hopped to her feet. "Then let's go!" She took Renders hand, and started for the beach.
She laughed as they went to the beach and changed in the designated rooms before running in the sand. Sachi kind of skipped across the ground, the sand quite hot at this time of day. They ran into the ocean and laughed as they played in the water. They played around for quite a while, and Sachi dragged Render into a sand sculpture competition. Her friend smiled and built her castle as the sun dropped towards the horizon. Sachi helped with the bulk of the castle, and basic shape, leaving the more artistic details to Render. She smiled and worked on details then colored sections of the sand
Sachi grinned. "We'll totally win." She laughed and looked around then kept working on it, they didn't win but they came in third.
"We were so close!" Sachi huffed.
"That's okay. It's getting dark anyway." She smiled and looked at her
Sachi's eyes widened. "Crap!" She ran towards the hospital.
"Where are you going?!" She shouted as she followed her
"I told Toshi I would visit him!" She yelled back.
"Oh... let me drive you!" She shouted and followed after her.
Sachi stopped, realizing that would be a better idea. She nodded. "Okay," Render smiled and ran with her to the car and drove her to the hospital, the blue haired girl was very eager to get there. They pulled up and she let her out before going to park, Sachi thanked her and quickly went in. The hospital was fairly silent as she walked around. She went up to the level that Toshi was on, she told them who she was, waiting for them to clear her. They looked through some paperwork and told her she could go inside. She nodded, and went to Toshi's room. She peeked her head through the door. He was sleeping a little and was alone in his room, as she opened the door he slowly opened his eyes.
She smiled, and walked over waving shyly. "Hey. Sorry I wasn't here earlier."
"That's.... okay... I was in... surgery... and healing..." he rasped, his voice barely there because of medication.
She sat next to him, and held his hand. "How are you feeling?"
"Tired... worried about the people..." he rasped. "They... need protected...." he said and coughed.
Sachi nodded, and gently ran a hand through his hair. "I suppose you'll never be able to stop worrying about them."
"No... I can't.... not as... long as... villains... are running... wild...." he rasped.
"Well... It's a good thing you're not the only hero then."
He looked at her and coughed again then sighed and nodded slowly as he closed his eyes. Blood leaked from his mouth but he was too out of it to notice. She grabbed a Kleenex, and wiped his mouth gently. He stared at her and blinked tiredly as he tried to be awake. Recovery Girl came in and sighed sadly, she looked tired.
Sachi looked over to Recovery girl. "Thank you... for your help."
"You're welcome dear. He needs a place to recover when he leaves here tomorrow... we've done everything we can." she sighed.
"I... I could ask my friend if she could help."
"No... I'll be fine...." he rasped and looked at her.
"No you won't dang it! Use that darn beach house you bought if you must, but you will rest!" she snapped. Sachi jumped at the woman's suddenly angry tone, she smiled, she liked her.
She looked to Toshinori. "She's right you know."
"Hmm...." he muttered and Recovery Girl sighed.
"Take that poor little girl with you... she hangs around here a lot and needs to know her father is alright." she said. Sachi was confused for a moment, but then remembered about November.
He nodded tiredly and the nurse watched as he closed his eyes. She pulled Sachi out of the room. "I need someone to look after him, and I've heard you want to help people... can I ask you to aid him until I give him a clean bill of health?" she asked.
She nodded. "What do you need me to do?"
"Just keep him at the retreat for about a week and I'll come check on him. I've made a list of things to help you and a specific liquid diet he will need to be on until he heals more." she said.
She nodded. "Okay. I can do that."
"Thank you..." she sighed in relief and rubbed her face.
Sachi hugged Recovery Girl. "No, Thank you."
"For what dear?" she asked in surprise and hugged her back.
"For all your help. With everything."
She smiled sadly and hugged her a little tighter. "Just doing my job dear." she said.
"Would you be able to give me that list tomorrow?"
"Yes. I'll give it to you tomorrow before we send him off." she smiled a little.
Sachi smiled once more. "Thank you."
She nodded and headed off to check the next patient and rest up. She came back later and did a final healing before letting him rest. Sachi stayed with him, holding his hand, rubbing it gently with her thumb.
The next day he was released from the hospital. He got changed and Recovery Girl insisted he use a wheelchair to leave the building. He didn't want to and wanted to go back to defending people. The nurse gave Sachi what she needed and they headed out.
Sachi pushed the wheelchair carefully, making sure not to dump him out of it. "Do you have a car?" She asked.
"Yes..." he muttered as he stared at his hands and thought about November. "Render is bringing it..."
Sachi nodded. "Okay. Are you excited to finally be out of the hospital?"
"Yes... I need to help people." he said and glanced around once they were outside.
"Not yet Toshi." She said gently. "I'm supposed to take care of you, and you're not going to go around saving people for at least one more week. Got it?"
"I have to help them..." he muttered and looked at his car as it pulled up. November jumped out before it parked.
"Daddy!" she cried and hugged him tightly. He held her and buried his face in her as he apologized. Sachi smiled, and took a step back, giving the two some room.
November sobbed into him and just held on to him tightly. He whispered to her and she calmed down. They helped him in the car and he sat in the back with his daughter. Render drove towards her house so she could go home and so Sachi could take over. Sachi would glance at the two every once in a while. But left them alone.
Render got to her home and glanced back at the two as they slept. "Will you be okay?" she asked her friend.
Sachi nodded. "I'll be fine. Thank you Render. You've been a great friend." She gave her a hug. Her friend hugged her back and gave her some money for shopping before they headed out. She bid farewell and went inside. Sachi switched to the driver's seat, and started the car, turning out of the drive in. She realized though, she didn't actually know where to go. She looked at the notes Recovery Girl gave her and there were directions to the safe house. The papers also said she couldn't let these get into the wrong hands. It took a while, but she soon got to the house. She gently shook November and Toshinori awake.
"Hmm?" The child asked and looked at her then around. "Oh..." she stretched and got out then helped get stuff inside. Toshinori looked to the ocean then shakily got out and grunted as he looked around.
Sachi helped him into the house. "I have to go to the store and get a few things. You need to stay here, and rest." She said the last word a tad pointedly. He sighed and nodded then sat on the couch as November put things away for them. Sachi got back into the car, she checked the list of supplies. It mostly had things she'd need to help him and things he could eat. She headed to the store, and started shopping around, checking the list often. After getting what she needed, and looking around to make sure she wasn't being followed, she went back to the house.
