14% Waiting

The cop came back an hour later and gave her the lights. "Your friend is here to see you. I told her to wait outside." he said

Sachi smiled. "Thank you." She hesitantly walked out, nervous to see Render after all these years. He led her out to the main part of the hospital and stopped when he saw Render. He then left her alone. The woman looked up and her eyes widened, a small child sat on a chair next to her, she had wild red hair.

The ex-villain waved hesitantly, taking a small step forward. "H-Hi Render..."

The butterfly girl stared at her then ran over and hugged her tightly. "Sachi..." she sobbed as she hugged her. The other girl clung to her tightly, apologizing over, and over again. Render shook her head and apologized as well, saying that she had gone looking for her but never found her. The child watched them quietly as she sat there. Sachi asked her how she was, and what she'd been doing for this long.

"Oh Sachi.... I'm so sorry..." she whispered and looked at her then sat on the chairs with her. "I've... I've been alright..."

The ex-villain was confused. "Render... I don't blame you. I promise."

"But I blame myself..." she said with tears in her eyes. "I was... I was so close to bringing you back home and they stopped me..." she said.

Sachi shook her head. "It wasn't you, you couldn't have stopped them." The butterfly girl nodded and wiped her tears away as she looked at her. She looked at the child who was reading a book to herself

The dark haired girl followed her gaze. "Who's that?" she asked softly.

"Oh this is November." she said and rubbed the child's head. The child looked up then to the dark haired woman.

"Hi." The little one whispered and smiled.

Sachi smiled, and waved at the girl. "Hello."

She waved and looked at Render then down to her book again. "She's shy." The woman smiled.

The dark haired young woman felt normal again and smiled more. "She seems nice though."

"She is." Render smiled at her and looked at the girl.

"Can I please see daddy?" she asked quietly and looked at her.

"Not yet..." she sighed.

Sachi frowned slightly. "Who's her Dad?"

"Oh... um... Toshinori Yagi." she said not sure if she'd remember that name.

Her eyes widened. "Wait... Her dad is Toshi?" She looked at the girl curiously.

November looked up at her and nodded shyly. "I don't know what you remember from him... but he has a big heart. He adopted her but I don't know why." she said.

She felt a sense of relief, she wasn't biological. "I remember him." She looked to Render. "I remember all of you."

"I'm glad." she smiled and hugged her as November watched them.

"Why can't I see him?" she asked quietly.

Sachi looked to her. "He's not awake yet."

She nodded and sighed as she hung her head. "I... Is he okay?" she asked quietly.

"The doctors are doing their best.

"Does that mean he's not okay?" she asked and Render looked at her friend.

"What happened?" she asked and furrowed her brow.

She bit her lip. "I... I'm not aloud to say..." she admitted.

Render nodded and looked at the child then whispered something to her. "No... I want daddy..." she said as tears filled her eyes.

Sachi frowned. "Hey, don't worry. You'll be able to see him soon."

"You can stay with Uncle Aizawa until then or stay with me." she said and November nodded as she sniffed.

Sachi looked back to Render. "How has Aizawa been?"

"Good... he got back from China shortly before Toshi came back. I was told some villains attacked Toshi while he was out walking... I wish he had a quirk... he's such a kind person..." she whispered. Sachi frowned slightly. Render didn't know? November looked at the woman then down at her hands as she sniffed. "He... He was really brave. He helped people the whole time." The dark haired girl said.

"Daddy's a hero." The child whispered and Render put an arm around her.

"I know sweetie... but he needs to be careful." she said. Sachi wondered about something as it dawned on her. Now that she thought about it... Where had he gotten this power? How many secrets did Toshinori have and what all was he keeping from them?

Render looked at her phone and got up then went to take a call. Sachi looked to November. She stared at her hands, frowning. She still looked... Like a villain.

November looked at her then to Render before frowning. "How do you know daddy?" she asked.

"Oh, he and I were really good friends in school." The woman said.

"Oh okay... is... he okay?" she asked again and looked at her.

"I... I'm not sure. Not yet. But he will be. He has to heal, and rest. Then hell be okay."

"When can I see him?" she asked and looked to her hands as tears filled her eyes.

She went over, and gave her a hug. "I don't know... But I can ask."

"It's my fault... I got mad at him..." she sobbed. "I wouldn't eat my dinner and I got mad at him for not letting me eat dessert... he got hurt because of me." she choked and hugged her.

Sachi hugged her tightly, rocking her gently. "No, no, That's not it at all. It's not your fault. I promise."

"I yelled at him... I made him sad and he got hurt." she sobbed as she hugged her tightly.

"November, that's not what happened, I promise. I... I wish I could tell you, but I'm not supposed too. Your Daddy saved lots of people, and defeated a big nasty villain. He got hurt saving people. Not because you yelled, and made him sad."

She gasped and pulled back then looked to Render who was busy. She looked at her and shook her head. "Shh... it's a secret... how do you know he's a hero?" she asked.

Sachi frowned worriedly. She didn't know him being a hero was a secret. "Uh... Because.... I'm one of the people he saved. I saw the fight."

She nodded but seemed concerned about it. "Okay... you can't tell." she whispered.

She nodded in turn. "Got it, don't tell anyone."

She sniffed and sighed as she looked around a little. "I don't know why we can't say..." she said.

"Well... I know a lot of villains who would jump for a chance to catch him off guard." She said more to herself than the little girl.

"Oh... that's why...." she whispered and wrote in a notebook.

She looked at the young girl. "how old are you?" She asked quietly.

"Ten..." she said and looked at her. "But I look like I'm six..."

She smiled. "Don't worry, when you're older, you'll wish people saw you four years younger than you are."

"Really?" she asked and looked up at her.

She smiled, and nodded. "Oh yes. I promise."

She nodded and smiled brightly as she looked at her. "Thanks."

"SO... You're staying with Render?"

"Yes... or uncle Aizawa when daddy goes to save people." she said.

She nodded. "okay. So you're going to be okay?"

"Ya..." she muttered and wrote some more.

"Good." She smiled a little.

November stopped and looked at her then gave her the page out of her note book. "Can... you give this to my daddy? Read it to him if he's sleeping?" she asked

She nodded. "Of course."

"Thank you..." she whispered and hugged her before going to her book again. Render came back and sighed.

"We have to get going... will you tell us if something changes?" she asked

She nodded. "Of course.

"Thank you..." she said and smiled a little. "We need to hang out when this all calms down." she smiled sadly.

She grinned. "I'd love too."

She smiled and hugged her tightly as she fought back tears then let go. The two said goodbye and had to leave

Sachi watched them go, before going back to Toshi. She sat down in the silent room as she thought about their situation. "I just met your daughter. She's adorable... And worried about you. She wrote you a note." she unfolded it. The note was hard to understand at first but she figured it out after a few minutes.

'Dear daddy,

Thank you for saving the world again and keeping people safe, but please get better. I need you to be my daddy and I need you to stay with me. I'm scared... I need a hero. Don't give up... please. Fight the bad guys but come home so I can hug you. You need a lot of hugs.

Lots of love,

November.'

The ex-villain almost lost it through the note. It was so sweet. There was a little picture on the bottom with her hugging her dad and Sachi hugging them.

She took a deep breath. "She's so sweet. You've done a good job. She blames herself for you getting hurt though." He didn't respond as he breathed shakily and moved his head a little. She held his hand. "She's quite an artist too." She smiled weakly. His chest continued to rise and fall abnormally as his body worked on the adjustment. She watched him, and the monitors closely, not wanting to miss anything

Herrick ran quickly. it had been far too long since All for One had left. He'd been searching for him this whole time, and was growing frantic. He eventually found the said man in an area that had recently been demolished in the woods near a mountain. He was in bad shape.

He rushed to his side. "Master... Can you hear me?" It had been a long time since Herrick had truly felt scared. The villain didn't respond and their was blood everywhere. All Might had killed him and done a number on him. Herrick gently picked him up, fearing for his leader. He pulled out his phone, and called Kurogiri. He sent a portal and Herrick saw his master was barely alive.

He carried him through the portal. "Quick, we need a Doctor now. " He laid All for One on the table, and used his quirk to stop the bleeding. He closed his eyes, trying to sense if there was internal bleeding, and fixing it temporarily. He could tell there was a lot of bleeding. They called for their medic and All for One struggled to hang on. Herrick could feel a lot of things wrong and injured in him. All Might had pounded on him.

Herrick grew desperate, and frantic. He looked back. "WHERE THE HELL IS THAT MEDIC!?" The medic ran in then,  and snapped at him for yelling. He stopped and looked at him then got to work. Herrick took a step back, his hands shook. He realized he couldn't let Tomura see him like this. The boy was too young to witness this horror. He'd been through enough already. The medic continued to work as they tried to figure out what happened.

Herrick looked to Kurogiri. "Do you know where Tomura is?"

"He is in his room for now." he said and looked at him.

Herrick nodded. Somebody would need to tell him. "Do you want to tell him the news, or should I?" he asked trying to calm down.

"Let's figure out the outcome before we decide to just tell him." he said seriously. Herrick nodded. He needed to calm down. He was no use to anyone as an irrational mess. Kurogiri watched quietly as he furrowed his brow. No one knew what happened. Herrick watched the operation intently, he felt like he was on pins and needles. Minutes dragged on and turned to endless hours. They felt they were going to fail.

Herrick frowned. If h died now... what would they do? How were they supposed to move on with their plans? They didn't have a leader after he was dead. A full day of operating and they had him stable enough to work on a few other things. Herrick sighed with relief once their leader was out of immediate danger. They still had a lot to do and Kurgiri went to tell the boy. Herrick glanced out the door, watching portal man leave. All Might... no... Toshinori Yagi would pay for this. He'd make sure of it.
