Accidents Happen
This is Bat, I've hijacked Troy's account. (not really just uploading some chapters.)
It's been a week since we went rafting and things have been going smoothly for the most part. No one has seen Scarlet since the incident the other week, she hasn't been in school and no one has seen her around town. I wouldn't be surprised if she was plotting her next attack in her basement. I grabbed my bag from my locker, it was eighth period and I was about ready to pass out. I had 3 tests today, and none of them were remotely fun! (And I usually enjoy tests.) I made my way back to History, dragging my feet as I did. I sat down in the back of the class, next to Mikel, like normal and opened my book. Mikkel peered over my shoulder to try and read my book, so I shoved his head away and closed my book. We had a substitute that day and I didn't feel like doing any more work due to the other tests, so I turned back to Mikkel.
"Did you do the homework from last night?" I asked, peering onto his desk.
He frowned. "Uh.. No.." I smirked, and gave a short laugh.
"You're lucky we have a sub today, the homework won't be due 'till tomorrow now," I told him. I saw him give a triumphant smile, and take his homework out from his bag and start to work on it. I sighed and opened my book again, seeing out of the corner of my eye Mikkel glancing at my book again. "Will you stop, before I smack that smile of you face," I told him, not looking up from my book.
He laughed, "Sure you will." I rolled my eyes and turned my attention back to my book, deciding to ignore Mikkel looking over my shoulder. I sat reading for who knows how long before there were three beeps over the loudspeaker, signaling that there was an announcement.
"Good afternoon students," the voice announced, "As you know every year there is a prom for the Juniors and Seniors. This years prom is approaching soon and will be held on May 26th. Make sure to get your dates and your dresses soon. Have a wonderful rest of the day." The background buzzing noise cut off abruptly and the voice was gone.
The class bursts into loud whispers and excited chatter. I placed a bookmark in my book and turned to Mikkel who was just finishing up his homework. "So are you going to Prom?" I asked,
He shrugged and placed his pencil down, looking up at me. "I wouldn't tell you if I was, it would ruin a surprise. That is if there is one."
"Surprise..?" I asked, quirking an eyebrow. "What surprise?"
He laughed and rolled his eyes, "it wouldn't be much of a surprise if I told you, now would it?" I huffed and laughed a little.
"Guess not."
"Thought so."
I smirked and tapped my finger on the desk, waiting for the bell to ring. I sat for about two minutes before I heard it ring, when it did I immediately jumped out of my chair. Mikkel followed after me and grabbed my free hand. I felt my cheeks heat up as we walked through the hallways silently. I cleared my throat. "So, uh, are you coming over today?"
He shrugged. "Maybe, if you want me to."
"I guess you can come over," I told him. We finally reached the front of the school and we exited on to the sidewalk. I pulled him along, and we made our way to my house. "Come on slow poke!" I dropped his hand and ran ahead after him. I heard him laugh and start to run after me.
He was chasing me for a good 5 minutes until I felt someone pick me up. I looked behind me to see Mikkel there with a big smirk.
"Caught you," He grinned and continued walking. Smiling a little bit, I let him carry me back to my house. Grabbing the key out of my pocket, I handed it to him and he unlocked the door, still carrying me.
"Are you going to put me down?" I asked, trying to wiggle my way out of his arms.
He tightened his arms around me and walked through the door. "Not yet." I grumbled and stopped wiggling and relaxed. Moving me over to the couch he sat down, still holding me. "Now I think I'll just sit like this for a little while longer." I groaned and rolled my eyes.
"Fine, then I'll just go to sleep," I told him. He smiled and gave a small nod. I moved around a little to get comfortable, and rested my head on his chest. I drifted off to sleep, feeling Mikkel's chest rise and fall at a steady pace.
* * *
I yawned, stretching my arms above my head as my eyes adjusted to the light. The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the fact that Mikkel was no longer holding me, or in my line of sight. Sitting up, I looked around again and didn't find him, I started to panic a little bit as I stood up. "Mikkel?" I called out. I heard someone shuffle out of the kitchen, it was Mikkel.
"Ah, you're awake," He smiled and made his way over to me giving me a small hug. "It's been an hour and a half if you're curious." I nodded sheepishly, rubbing my eyes.
"My parents home yet?" I asked, leaning into Mikkel's chest. He laughed shaking his head.
"No. They called though, said they would be home later than usual. I don't recall them saying why," he explained, rubbing my back. I nodded again and pushed myself off of his chest.
"We should probably start our homework, I don't want you to fail any classes. Did you bring our bags here?"
He nodded. "They're by the door. If you go and grab them I'll bring us some drinks and some snacks."
"Okay." I walked away from him and over to the door, picking up both of our bags. I noticed that they were surprisingly light for a Monday. I shrugged the fact off and walked back to the couch, dropping both our bags onto the couch. Mikkel came back into the living room carrying two glasses of lemonade and some pretzels. I smiled happily, taking a glass from him. "Thanks!"
He chuckled and smiled. "Glad you like it." I laughed for a few seconds before abruptly stopping, realizing something.
"Have you seen my phone? Hannah was supposed to text me after school today." I explained, starting to look around for my phone.
"I think it's on the table over there." Mikkel pointed to one of the tables by the front door, I spotted it and sighed in relief. I rushed over to it and grabbed it turning it on. I gasped at the amount of messages and missed calls I had. All from Logan.
Missed Call- Logan (13)
Logan: Lianna, I need you to call me back right now. Something bad happened.
Logan: Lianna! It's urgent, please pick up!
Logan: There's an emergency, I need you to call me back asap.
Logan: Lianna!!
Logan: It's about Hannah, I need you to pick up!
There were about twenty more messages from Logan, all of them sounding urgent about an hour old. I felt Mikkel come up behind me, and peer over my shoulder.
"Lianna? What's he going on about?" He asked, his eyebrows knitting together in confusion.
"I don't know.... Something bad had to have happened. I'm going to call him back now." I explained, he nodded. I unlocked my phone and dialed Logan's number. It rang twice before Logan's voice came through sounding panicked, and like he had been crying.
"Lianna! Thank god you called back!" He exclaimed, his voice shaky.
"Logan, what's going on? What happened?" I asked quickly, noticing the panic in his voice.
"I-It's Hannah," He said, I quirked an eyebrow. "S-She was in a car accident and she was hurt, badly." I gasped nearly dropping my phone. Mikkel looked at me with a curious expression. I moved the phone away from my ear and turned to Mikkel.
"It's about Hannah, she was in a car accident..."
