One month has past since the couple expressed their love to each other*

Today was Independence Day, and that was a special day towards Tommy as he served the United States of America straight after high school.

Today was also the day he gets one of the highest awards to be awarded to a solider, The Medal of Honor.

In Dallas*

Tommy and Lexi were in Texas for the 4th of July and he invited her to be his special guest.

She was honored to as they arrived to there hotel.

They checked in but had a little miss up as Lexi's room wouldn't be ready until later on that night.

Receptionist: I'm sorry miss for the inconvenience.

Alexa: No, that's alright.

Tommy: Here, well just go to my room instead.

Alexa: Like together?

He nodded and she looked away as they walked away from the front desk, when they got to the elevator he stopped her.

Tommy: Hey? Am I rushing?

Alexa: Rushing, what do you mean?

Tommy: Asking you to stay in my room?

Alexa: Oh.. uh.

She looked away again and that worried him a little bit as that could be the sign that she isn't ready to be that close to Tommy.

Tommy: I'm sorry if I am..

Alexa: No, don't be. I think we're ready to move up to the next step.

Tommy: Really?

Lexi smiled at him as he held her hand when they went up to their floor.

In the hotel room*

Tommy was laying out his uniform as Lexi took pictures of him ironing everything and putting on his ribbons to the left of his chest.

Alexa: Wow, that's alot of ribbons.

Tommy: I only have three, soon to be four.

Alexa: Four?

Tommy: You can get one for if you get the Medal of Honor.

Alexa: Amazing, it shows all the things you've accomplished for this country.

He then took a deep breath and sighed as he hated hearing that, Lexi saw him look a little upset and walked over next to him.

She rubbed his arm in comfort as she knew something was wrong.

Alexa: Baby? Are you ok?

Tommy: Baby?

Lexi then knew she called him by the new name and blushed.

Tommy: I'm just not ready to see everyone since the incident.. baby.

He winked at her and laughed a little as she smiled and they shared a long passionate kiss.

A couple minutes later*

It was time to get ready, Tommy watched Lexi grab a nice black, short dress with high boots and a gold bracelet.

He let her take the bathroom to get changed, Lexi hesitated as today was his day but being the gentleman that Tommy is wouldn't let her change in the bedroom.

So she walked in and closed the door while he finished his ironing.

He started to put on his uniform one piece at a time, but by the time that Lexi walked out he was already dressed.

Tommy had his white cover in his hands as he turned around to see the five feet of fury all dressed up, just for him.

Tommy: Wow.

Alexa: You look handsome Tom.

Tommy: Special occasions only.

She giggled and straightened his ribbons, he handed her his only Medal to put on him.

Tommy: Here, it's my only pin.

Alexa: What's this for?

Tommy: It's my Honorable Service Medal, would you like to put it on before I button up?

Lexi smiled and nodded her head as she slowly put it through his uniform and fastened it, Tommy then buttoned up his uniform and gave her his cap.

Tommy: Deep sigh* Ready?

Alexa: Are you ready?

Tommy: Let's hope.

He held her hand and both walked out of there hotel room, walking down the hallway; Lexi took a picture of their hands holding. She made it her backround and was happy as they went down to the lobby and into their rental car.

Lexi started to drive to the venue where the celebration was being held.

1 hour later*

Tommy was awarded his Medal of Honor in front of his old squad mates, a couple of his old recruiters and the rest of the new upcoming soldiers.

During the dinner, Tommy and Lexi were joined by Pete, one of the guys from his old squad.

When the ceremony was over, Lexi ran up to Tommy and gave him a big hug; Tommy picker her up and spun her around

Pete: Well if it isn't Tommy "Train".

Tommy: Hey Pete! Long time no see asshole.

They both laughed and Lexi was confused on the interaction between the two.

Pete: Yeah, its been a while. Hey what do you do now?

Tommy: I wrestle.

Pete: Like WWF?

Tommy: More WWE now.

Pete: Wow, that's great man.

Tommy: Living the life, so what do you do now?

Pete: I own a construction company, then I'll privately do contracting.

Tommy: Wow, seems like you're pretty busy.

Pete: Yeah, the wife and kids keep my schedule full.

Tommy: Wait, kids? Wife?

He laughed and grabbed his phone out to showed both Lexi and Tommy pictures of his family.

Tommy was happy for his old friend as they continued to catch up.

Pete: And who's this?

Tommy: Oh my god, I forgot to introduce you two; Pete this is Lexi, my girlfriend.

Pete: Nice to meet you.

They shook hands and Lexi grabbed his hand and they held each other as the stories started to pour out as they were getting ready for lunch.

Pete: Do you remember the time in the middle of Baghdad?

Tommy: That scared the shit out of me.

At this time Tommy had his arm around Lexi and a group had formed a circle surrounding Pete and Tommy, just to hear stories since most of the men were rookies that just graduated.

Tommy: So, its my first tour as a rookie and we were sent straight into the heart of Baghdad, we were just gathering intel on where the taliban were stationed. As we just sat down and started to search, the spy plane above us radioed in that a fleet of taliban were surrounding the building we were in.

Pete: The clock just hit 22:00 also.

Tommy: Yeah, so it's pretty much pitch dark since that side of the city didn't have power from the war. So we packed back up and stayed downstairs near the bunker.

Pete: Then..?

Tommy: Then we heard a door start to get busted down, so we radioed to the plane above to do something that a rookie never thought he would hear.

He paused for a second to build some suspense as everyone was invested into this story.

Tommy: They radioed in to drop the artillery on us.

Rookie: You called a artillery strike on yourself?

Tommy: We had no other option, we were outgunned five to fifteen.

Rookie: Then what did you do?

Tommy: Huh* We busted a door out and found a tunnel that lead across the block. So Pete, The four others and I crawled as fast as we could until we heard the shells drop onto the backdoor.

Everyone was wondering why he kept stopping but Tommy loved seeing his peers lean in.

Tommy: Luckily the tunnel caved in a minute after we crawled out, so we were safe from the terrorists.

Pete: And that's how Tommy and I, the two rookies on the squad became such great friends.

Everyone loved the story, hugged Tommy and thanked him for all he's done and left the table so it was just Tommy, Lexi and a few others.

They all were eating and telling stories about what they've done since they left the Marines

That all changed when Pete brought something awful up.

Pete: I can't believe it's been almost nine years.

Tommy: Worst day of my life, I still have nightmares about it.

Alexa: Is this the story you told me?

Tommy nodded and they both saw everyone leave the table, just leaving the two as Lexi was petting the back of his head to calm him down until he smiled and kissed her cheek.

Another hour later*

Both Lexi and Tommy were now taking a break and drove a little south of Dallas.

Alexa: Hey, where are we going?

Tommy: Were going to visit the last of my family.

Alexa: Who?

Tommy: My grandpa.

She smiled as they continued to drive, Lexi then saw the photo of her wrapped around Tommy.

It showed her hugging someone in the selfie while smiling.

So she decided to post it as it only showed her face and the back of Tommy's head, but she knew that it wouldn't take people long to figure it out.

Her post blew up with people putting the two and two together.

She loved the way they reacted but saw a couple rude comments, but she was used to them and blew them off.

By this time she looked up and saw them pull into a nice house driveway.

Tommy: We're here!

Alexa: Wow, what a nice place.

Tommy: Last thing I purchased when I inherited the company. He deserved a new house so me being the last of his family then I stepped up.

Lexi's heart filled with love as she "awed", they both got out of the car and headed to the front.

Tommy: I hope he's not asleep.

While they were waiting, they heard a firework go off across the road and Tommy flipped around quickly and Lexi put her hand up to his chest.

His heart was beating really fast and she needed to calm him down.

Alexa: It's ok baby, I'm here.

He looked down and saw her wrap her arms around his arm, Tommy smiled and held her hand as he tried the open the door.

It was unlocked and both walked into the brand new house that had a nice 2000's style to it.

Tommy: Pops?

Nothing...

Tommy: Grandpa!?

Grandpa: Upstairs!

He looked at Lexi and both walked upstairs to see his grandpa sitting on his bed, going through lots of photos.

Tommy: Grandpa?

Grandpa: Thomas! My boy is back!

He walked over and hugged his brace grandson and also hugged Lexi.

Grandpa: And who is this lovely lady?

Tommy: Pops, this is Lexi; she's my everything.

Lexi smiled as he said that and they had a nice little conversation about what she does and how they both met.

All three were now sitting on the bed, going through the photos of baby pictures of only Tommy.

Tommy: Pops? How's come you're going through these?

Grandpa: It's the 4th of July, I wanted to get a bunch of photos and take them to the cookout I'm going to tonight.

Tommy: Some of these I haven't seen.

They all were going through some and Lexi giggled when she saw a naked baby picture of Tommy.

Alexa: You're not wearing clothes in alot of these.

Grandpa: I swear this kid didn't like clothes when he was little.

Lexi looked at him, smiled and winked at him as she kept looking through some.

Tommy: Hey! Just because I didn't like to wear clothes then, doesn't mean I don't like too now.

That made his grandpa laugh as they continued to look, but after a couple minutes they stopped and walked back downstairs.

Tommy offered Lexi his seat in the living room, he stood next to her as she was loving every moment with him today.

His grandpa came back with a couple glasses of water and for him some orange juice.

Tommy: It's past noon, and you're drinking orange juice?

Grandpa: Why not? I could drink it everyday.

Tommy: Pops, you probably already do.

They laughed and Tommy got up to freshen up his uniform, leaving Lexi and his grandpa to talk.

Grandpa: So how have you and my Thomas been?

Alexa: Ah.. never better. He's so sweet and kind to me, I never want to leave.

Grandpa: Yep, he was raised well.

They continued to talk until Tommy came back, Lexi then went to also freshen up her dress which left the grandson with his grandpa.

Grandpa: So Tom, Lexi is a sweet girl.

Tommy: She's my everything.

Grandpa: I can see that.

Tommy then saw his grandpa tear up a little and hold his medal out from his chest.

Grandpa: You know your parents would've been proud.

Tommy: Pops..

Grandpa: I'm proud of you son..

They shared a little tear and hugged.

Then talked a little bit more until he asked an important question.

Grandpa: Is she the one?

Tommy: without hesitation* She's the one.

He smiled and hugged his grandson as Lexi came out and hugged his grandpa too, they said there goodbyes and walked out the front door.

Tommy wished he could take his grandpa with him, but he wouldn't want to come since he's got worse PTSD than he does.

Later on the night*

Tommy and Lexi were back at the ceremony venue where they were lighting off fireworks for everyone.

They then started to listen to the music and watch the fireworks light up the sky

Everytime one went off Lexi could feel Tommy jump, she held him tighter and he seemed to calm down.

They ended up leaving early and headed back to the hotel.

Both walked into the room, exhausted and ready for bed.

Lexi walked into the bathroom to wipe off all of her make up while Tommy carefully took off his uniform and neatly place it back into its cover.

He was now just in his boxers and laying in the bed.

Tommy scrolled through his Instagram and saw Lexi's post and fell in love.

Everyone was still commenting and tagging him in it as people were figuring it out.

When he looked up, he saw the bathroom light turn off and saw Lexi walk out in her bra and panties.

She slid into the bed next to him and both just looked at each other.

Tommy: This feels..

Alexa: Right.

She laid down and he pulled her close, Lexi then felt something poke her as she knew that Tommy was aroused by her.

That made her feel hot but wasn't the time got any of this to happen.

She rolled over, looked Tommy in his eyes and kissed his lips.

Alexa: Thank you for today, It was an honor to be with you.

Tommy: I'm glad you were there with me, you made it so much easier to go through the day.. I love you.

Lexi smiled and kissed him, slipped him some tongue and pulled away.

Alexa: I love you too.

She rolled back over and felt Tommy wrap his arms around her and pull her closer so they were sleeping together.
