Finally. From what I heard, the vytal festival is coming soon. I can finally confess to Yang in the most perfect way, through song. As these thought roamed my mind I failed to notice the footsteps behind me.

Joan(Female Jaune):"Hey Y/n, Whatcha doin'?"

Y/n:"The day is near, soon I'm gonna confess to Yang, I'm just trying to think of a song that would let her know."

Joan:"Oh, I can't wait!"

We walked to my dorm, which was nearby conveniently, so I could practice.

Joan:"Can I hear the song?"

Y/n:"Sure."

Joan:"It was amazing, this is surely gonna win Yang over!"

Y/n:"Thanks."

Joan left the dorm whilst I went back to practicing the song, it has to be perfect for her.

Joan Pov

I walked down the hallway, humming the tune that Y/n had sung to me. I wish it was me that song was about, but I don't have a chance with him.

As I was humming I bumped into someone by accident.

Joan:"Sorry."

Yang:"Hey Joan, what were you humming?"

My mind froze when she said this. Crap, I can't let her know about Y/n's feelings.

Joan:"Um, just some love song."crap

Yang:"By who?"

Joan:"Um just a guy named Y/-, I mean not Y/n, no not him at all!"

Yang:"Oh really~ Who's the lucky girl that N/n(Nickname) is interested in?"

Joan:"*Sigh* It's you. But don't let him know I told you. He plans to sing it at the festival as a confession."

Yang:"Oh no."

Joan:"What's wrong?"

Yang:"Nothing, look I gotta go, see ya."

Yang ran off to her dorm, leaving me there, confused.

TIME SKIP

Yang Pov

Announcer:"Up next for the Vytal singing competition is [Random name]."

I sighed to myself as I got ready, but soon I heard a voice.

Y/n:"Yang, what are you doing here? This is for the singers, audience is over there." *points to crowd*

Yang:"I know, I'm singing."

Y/n:"Really? Never took you for the singing type. Well good luck."

Yang:"Hey Y/n, I want you to really listen to the song, ok?"

Y/n:"Sure."

Announcer:"Up next is Yang Xiao Long."

I walked onto the stage, and exhaled a little.

I finished and went back behind stage, but I didn't see Y/n anywhere.

Y/n Pov

I stood there, wide-eyed as Yang sung. She doesn't feel the same, at all. I felt a tear roll down my cheek while I was listening. I couldn't take it anymore, I ran away, into the city, I don't care where I end up.

TIME SKIP

I looked around and realized where I was. An old, rusted fence gate was in front of me, through it I saw rows of tombstones littering the disgusting shade of green that was known as grass. I opened the creaky gate and walked around, falling to my knees once I arrived at my destination.

Y/n:"Hey mom, dad. I know it's been a while since we talked. Look, I remember my promise from before, I know I said I would stop coming to you with my problems, but you're the only people I feel comfortable talking to right now. I was about do it, I was this close telling Yang how I felt, but she shot me down before I could say anything. Do you guys remember when we met her?

FLASHBACK

Y/n and his parents were roaming the forest, one of the many things they did together. As they were walking they heard crying. Curiously, they looked around and saw a young girl, only slightly older then Y/n, on the ground crying.

Girl:"Mommy!"

They approached her slowly, hoping not to alarm the frightened girl.

D/n:"Are you alright, did you lose your parents?"

The young girl nodded.

M/n:"Well how about we find them, come on Y/n, are you up to that?"

The young blonde girl looked at the boy who the woman was referring to.

Y/n:"YEAH! LETS FIND SOME PARENTS!"

She giggled at his hyperactive nature, she knew he would be a great friend.

FLASHBACK END

Y/n:"Then we found her family, and we became great friends afterwards. You guys wouldn't shut up about how she stared at me, you thought we would make the perfect couple.*smile* That was some wishful thinking huh? Thanks for listening, again. I'd best get back to Beacon now. Lord knows what everyone's thinking about my disappearance."

I felt an endless stream of tears begin to erupt from my eyes.

Y/n:"You have no idea how much I miss you guys. I love you, bye."

I stood up and made my way back to Beacon.
