Chapter 3
It was at around 11:30pm when strange sounds woke me up. Sharp claws were scratching vigorously at the walls, perhaps in hope that they get to the other side of the wall.
My apartment was pretty spacious but the wall of my bedroom separated my neighbors from myself. The walls were definitely not thick enough to swallow these annoying sounds. After 5 minutes all returned to normal and the alcohol in my system lulled me back to sleep.
A violent crashing sound had me shooting up from my bed, throwing my white sheets away from my body, ready to bolt. My green eyes ran wildly across the room, trying to locate the cause of alarm. A scream lodged itself in the opening of my throat, refusing to come out. It was as if my lungs were finally tired of holding on, my heart stood shell shocked, refusing to pump anymore blood.
I really must quit smoking.
There in front of my bed, a gigantic black wolf was mercilessly tearing at the throat of a brown, equally gigantic one. Impaling its razor sharp canines way past the fur protecting it. Even as the brown wolf whimpered pathetically, with blood gushing out of its wounds, the other wolf did not let up.
The small sounds of pleading for mercy died down suddenly, indicating the loss of life. Blood pooled around the two giant balls of fur and my eyes were glued on the gory scene. The stench of blood forced it's way into my body, making my stomach recoil. I still could not tear my eyes from the pool of blood nor could I move my body to run or scream for help.
My heart spiked up and pumped painfully fast when suddenly the monstrous wolf turned its eyes to the one thing that still had a neck and fresh blood.
Me.
My eyes widened as it stalked towards me, sniffing as it edged closer to my bed. The predatory black eyes matching the colour of its fur. A long sloppy tongue darted out to lick the remaining blood of its victim clean. The eyes looked hungry for blood, it craved impaling the canines in its mouth on another neck. The wolf looked as if it craved whimpers similar to the ones it caused less than a few moments ago.
My heart felt too tight for my chest. It beat loudly and fast, as if it was placed right next to my ears. My eardrums threatened to burst, that's if my heart didn't first. Sweat dripped freely on my neck and forehead.
When it released a small growl, I stopped breathing.
My eyes refused to close even as the wolf circled my bed. Those hauntingly striking eyes bore into mine even as it moved around the bed. My head was heavy with all the carbon dioxide I was yet to release. It felt as if I was floating, through a field of danger. My endurance snapped and my arms slid back, tired of supporting my weight. My head hit the bed unceremoniously, the sound of bones snapping was faint inside the room that was coated in danger.
I was out like light.
-----------
My head was heavy when I came to, and when I tried to use my elbows to support my weight up, a bolt of pain made me groan loudly. My shoulders ached as if I had slept in an uncomfortable position. I slowly moved my hand across the crispy white sheets...white sheets?
My sheets were a hideous green colour, like the colour of puke. I bought it because it was cheap and I wasn't feeling all too well on that day. It had absolutely nothing to do with my taste! If these sheets are white, it means this bed is not mine and this room is also not mine.
Surprisingly, my heart did not leap out of my throat in fear. Instead I tried to get up from the bed, slowly. Once I successfully removed myself from the insanely soft bed, I looked around the foreign room. Careful not to let my panic get the best of me.
It's clear that I was kidnapped and panic would not help me out of this fancy dungeon. The room must belong to someone with more money to spare than most of the world's population, because the last time I checked myself and a million others would have to literally kill to afford this kind of luxury. My toes were on top of a plush creamy white rug, that complemented the rich creamy paint on the walls. The bed was a gigantic plane of softness with a dozen of white little pillows. What do people need more than one pillow for?
I only had one pillow on my bed, one! For my neck.
There was a door on the right side of the bed, it can either be a bathroom or the exit door. softly tip toed to it to investigate, it was neither. The door led to a damn walk in closet. Spacious, empty and very very unnecessary. I noticed another door on the right side of that one, I crossed my finger, hoping for an escape. I refuse to be held hostage.
As I walked towards it, I realized that all I was wearing was an oversized white cotton shirt. Well that and panties, my grey panties thank the heavens! My nose scrunched up as I thought of wearing another person's underwear, yuck!
It didn't matter what I was wearing, I needed to get out of this gigantic cage. To my luck, the door led to an empty hallway. I opened it a bit more to be able to put my head through and scan the area for any threats. A blurred figure ran down the corner of the hallway, making me jerk my head back into the room. Big mistake!
My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when the door was pulled wide open, presenting possibly the hottest guy I have ever laid my eyes on. He had an angelic face, free of any blemish, scar or flaw. His lips were curled into a simple smile. The shape and thickness of his pitch black eyebrows made my heart pump envy. How come he gets all the hair, while some of us have to practically beg for it?
If his eyebrows made me envious then his long eyelashes made me want to stab him. They were so long that when he blinked, they slightly touched his cheek. How dare he?
As I was swimming in hot jealousy the colour of my bed sheets, his deep electric voice vibrated throughout my very being I had to mentally smack myself to focus.
"Going somewhere?"
