The flashback for Mullai and Karthik is started from this chapter. So there won't be much of KM scenes. I will try to end this flashback in one or two chapters.

Parvathy: Karthik ava kadhalan mattum illei. Mullai'ode purushanum kude. (Lakshmi and DM are shocked while others look at each other helplessly.)

At Upstairs

Akila: Kanna, unmaiye sollu. Teriyamathan Kathir kaiye thatti vittiya??

Kannan: Nambungge, anni. Teriyamathan thatti vitten. Terinji panninena, naan Kathir annanode kaale thatti vittiruppen. Appothan Mullai anni mele vilunthirukkom. (MA look at him in disbelief.)

Malar: Sari, kelu.

(MA look at each other as they couldn't answer him. This guy is not immature as all of them are thinking. There is a maturity beside his childishness.)

Akila: Kalyanam panninathukku appurom.

Kannan: (confused) Yenna??

Akila: Karthik iranthathu, Mullai'kkum avarukkum kalyanam nadanthathukku appurom. (Kannan is hell shocked to know this.)

Kannan: Enna anni solriye?? (MA nod and look at him.)

Mullai's Room

Mullai answers the call.

Mullai: Hello!! Sorry'ngge. Neengge last minute'le kekuringge. Next week ennale mudiyathu. Naan family'ode veliye vanthirukken. Eppo Chennai'kku varuvom'nu teriyathu. Neengge vere yaaravathu arrange pannungge. (She ends the call and looks at Kathir who smiles at her.) Avughe veetule oru function'ah. Kathir: Yen unggale eduthu nadathe solraghe?? Unggalukku terinjavanggala??

Mullai: Illei'ngge. Naan oru event planner. Athavathu birthday function, engagement, wedding'ku decorations ellam panrathu.

Kathir: Oh!! (Thinks something.) Onnu keta thappa nenechikke maatighale.

Mullai: Illei. Kelungge.

Kathir: Neengge doctor'ku padichen'nu sonnighe. Ippo etho event planner'nu solrighe.

Mullai: Neengge enna kekke variye'nu puriyuthu. Doctor'ku padichittu ethukku inthe veleye pannuren thane kekkuriye?? (Kathir nods.) Naan medicine mulusa padichi mudikkale. (Her face turns sad while saying this.) Oru sambavam nadanthathu. Athan ennale padikke mudiyale.

Kathir: Unggale varuthe paduthanum'nu naan kekkale.

Mullai: Ceh ceh!! Appadilam illei. Anthe sambavam ennale eppovum marakke mudiyathu. Thinamum rathiri en kanavule vanthu vanthu poghum.

Kathir: Enna sambavam?? (She couldn't control herself and bursts out in tears sitting on the bed. Kathir feels bad seeing her but he is curious to know what has happened. He wants to ask her but he seeing her like this, he doesn't want to upset her more. Mullai looks at him.)

Mullai: Enakku en family'na avvalavo pudikkum. Avughale thavire vere yaareyum enakku avvalava pudikkathu. Naan avughalukku sonthe ponnu illatiyum, en mele avughellam uyire vechirukkaghe. Aana... (She smiles in tears recalling her past.)

Few Years Ago

CHENNAI

Malar and Akila have finished their studies. Mullai is doing her second year in medical. AdiYa are married against their families wish. Zoya is staying with Mullai's family and working in Arjun's office. VM and PA decided to get married. They wanted to hire an event planner to arrange the weddings. One day, Zoya is applying mehndi to the girls. Arjun who just came with VP walk slowly towards Zoya.

Arjun: (shouts at Zoya's ear) Bhabhi!!! (Zoya who is applying mehndi for Mullai is shocked hearing his scream and drops the mehndi cone. She turns towards him.)

Zoya: Arjun!! Is this the way to scare your bhabhi, my mischievous devar??

Arjun: You are too busy with the mehndi till you didn't realise your shouhar has came.

Zoya: Shouhar?? Aditya?? (Grins.)

Arjun: Yes. Your Aditya. He is waiting outside. He doesn't want to come inside without getting a welcome kiss from you.

Zoya: (slaps his head) Badtameez!! (She runs outside towards Aditya.)

Mullai: (shouts) Haiyoyo!!

Malar: Enna aachu, papa??

Mullai: En mehndi pochi. (Showing her palms where her mehndi are spoiled.) Ellam unnale thaan, na. Paaru enna panni vechirukke'nu.

Arjun: Woww!! Beautiful!! Super design!!

Mullai: Enna?? Super design ah?? Iru unakku inthe design potu viduren. (She started to chase Arjun who runs outside. AdiYa who are about to hug disturbed by Arjun who ran between them escaping from Mullai. They are about to hug again but this time Mullai ran in between them. AdiYa look at each other and nod their heads. Aditya catches Arjun while Zoya catches Mullai.)

Aditya: What is the problem?? Why are you letting us to hug??

Mullai: Adi bhaiya, see what your friend has done to my mehndi?? (Shows her palms.)

Zoya: Oh no!! Your mehndi is spoiled. It's my mistake. Sorry, jaan.

Mullai: No, Zo anni. It's not your mistake. (Stares at Arjun.) Adi bhaiya, I want to file a complaint against him for spoiling my mehndi. (Aditya looks at her in disbelief.)

Arjun: Ithulam case'ah eduthukke maatangge, chellam. Vere level'le think pannu.

Aditya: Arjun is right, flower. This case won't be accepted by the law. Arjun can't be punished. (Arjun runs again and Mullai chases him. She is about to catch him but he moves away. Mullai is too fast that she grab hold a guy's shirt who just came there. The guy is puzzled with the sudden action. Mullai feels embarrassed and takes her hand from his shirt.)

Mullai: Sorry'ngge. Gavanikkale. 

Guy: (wipes the stain with his handkerchief) It's ok. By the way, nalla varaverpu.

Mullai: Thanks. (The guy raises his eyebrows at her.)

Arjun: Neengge??

Guy: Naan Karthik. Mr Arjun enneye ingge vare sonnaru.

Arjun: Karthik?? Event planner ah?? (Karthik nods.) I'm Arjun. (Both of them have a handshake.) Ulle vaangge!! (Karthik enters inside while glancing at Mullai who is still embarrassed with whatever happened just now.) Thappa eduthukkathingge, sir. Naangge ippadithan illathe settai pannuvom. Athule onnuthan ithu. Actually, ava enneye attack panne vendiyathu. Naan escape aayitten. Naduvule neengge vanthuttone, avalale brake pode mudiyale.

Karthik: (chuckles) Paravale.

Arjun: Ithu enggalode parents. Ivungge moonu perum ennode sisters, Malar, Akila, Mullai. Ivungge en machans Vetri, Pugazh. And ivungge rendu perum engga anna, anni, Aditya, Zoya. (AdiYa smile at each other.)

Karthik: Double wedding'nu sonningge. Aana….

Arjun: Ellaraiyum uravu murai vechi kupudre naale confuse aayittinggela?? (Karthik smiles.) Puriyuthu. Malar weds Vetri and Akila weds Pugazh. (Karthik nods his head looking at four of them.) Ippo no confusion'le??

Karthik: Illei. Teliva purinjiruchi. Unggalukku enna mathiri decorations vendum?? Naan sile samples kondu vanthirukken. Athule ethavathu unggalukku pudichirukka'nu parthu sollungge. Illei unggalukku ethavathu idea irunthaalum sollalam.

Arjun: VM and PA. Neenggethan paarthu sollanum.

Malar: Mullai, nee parthu sollu.

Mullai: Naana?? Akkas kalyanam unggalukku!! Enakku illei. Neenggethan paarthu sollanum.

Akila: Enggalukku ethuva irunthaalum ok thaan.

Mullai: Ennathu?? Aththans, neenggalavathu sollungge.

Vetri: Enna mathiri decorations'ah iruntha enna…..

Mullai: Kalyanam nadantha sari!!?? Athane?? (Karthik couldn't help but chuckles listening to her.)

Karthik: It's ok. Arjun, naan unggalukku samples'eh send pannuren. Neengge ellam yosichi select panni enakku anuppungge. Wedding pathine details ellam enakku send pannirungge. Appo naan varen. (He leaves from there. Mullai sees Zoya lost somewhere.)

Mullai: Zo anni, what are you thinking??

Zoya: Nothing, jaan.

Mullai: Zo anni, if you wish, we can make this double wedding as triple wedding. (AdiYa look at her confusingly.)

Aditya: Flower, do you want to get married as well??

Mullai: Bhaiya!! Not for me!! I'm talking about both of you. You both are married legally, not ritually.

Zoya: We will get married ritually when our family accept us. Jaan, why don't you get married along with your sisters??

Aditya: Exactly!! Just say yes, flower. I will find the world's bestest man for you. (Mullai slaps his arm.)

Arjun: Mullai, maapillai paakalama??

Mullai: Enna, na?? Nee vere?? Vendumna unakku oru ponnu paarthu kalyanam pannikko.

Arjun: Thanggachi nee irukkire appo, naan eppadi kalyanam panne mudiyum??

Murugan: Dei, ava padippu mudichathukku appurom paarthukkalam.

Mullai: Sariya sonnighe, pa. (Hugs Murugan's arm.) Anna, vendumna onnu pannu. Enakku appa mathiri character'le mappillaiye paaru. Naan kannu moodikittu kalyanam pannikkiren.

Akila: Appa mathiri'na. Nithanama, panba, amaithiya…

Malar: Tea lover, sharp memory, maths'le puli'ya irukkanum. Appadiya, papa??

Mullai: Exactly!! Appurom paasam kaaturathule mannan'ah irukkanum.

Arjun: Inthe mathiri mappilaiye naan engge poi theduven??

Mullai: Inthe mathiri oruthare paarthathaan naan kalyanam pannippen.

Arjun: Rombe scene podathe, chellam. Appurom paaru, ithukku opposite'ah irukkire oruthan kitte un manase pari kuduthuruve.

Mullai: Appadilam manase pari kudukkurave illei inthe Mullai. Yaarum en manasule avalavo seekirama idam pudichire mudiya…. (Stops when someone knocks the door. All turn and sees Karthik.)

Karthik: Sorry. En car key inggeye vittutu poiten. (He takes the key.) Varen. (Leaves from there.)

Pugazh: Naanggalum kilambarum.

Parvathy: Ade, enna avasaram, mappillai?? Saaptu polam.

Mullai: Athane. En akkas avughalode varunggala husbands'ku aasai aasaiya samachi irukkaghe. (MA are blushing.) Saapidama poghe kudathu!!

Zoya: Correct!! Come on, bhaiyas. (VP agree.)

Parvathy: Adi thambi, neenggalum vaangge.

Aditya: Paru ma, all of you start first. I will join in a while. I need to refresh myself first. Zoya, come with me. 

ArMul, VM and PA: (teasingly) Oh…. ho!!! (AdiYa leave from there.)

Murugan: Kindel pannathingge. Rombe naal kalichi paakurangge. Thaniya irukkanum ninaippanggale.

Mullai: Avughe rendu pereyum veliye enggeyavathu poitu vare sollalama?? Beach, cinema, park. Vendam. Avughale jodiya long drive poghe sollalam.

Arjun: Inthe idea nalla irukku. Appurom night nalle hotel'le…..

Vetri: Athai mama'lam irukkangge. Enna pesuringge??

Arjun: Naan enna thappa sollitten?? Dinner date anuppi vekke nenecha, athu thappa??

Vetri: Oh!! Dinner date'ah??

Malar: Neengge enna nenechingge??

Vetri: Onnum illei.

Pugazh: (whispers at Vetri) Nee enna neneche'nu enakku theriyum. (Vetri smiles.) Yen, da?? Pesame saapidu. (Vetri continues to eat.)

AdiYa Room

Aditya: Zoya, is everything okay?? You were looking worried just now.

Zoya: Aditya, I'm scared.

Aditya: Scared?? Why??

Zoya: Mullai's mehndi get spoiled just now. It's a bad omen.

Aditya: That was just a normal mehndi, Zoya. You are worrying unnecessarily. Since when, you started to believe those stuff?? As I know, you won't believe that type of stuff.

Zoya: I don't know, Aditya. After I came here, I learnt about Mullai's childhood and how she was abandoned when she was a kid. That's why I am feeling scared. If anything wrong happens to her this whole family will be shattered.

Aditya: You are worrying too much, Zoya. Nothing wrong will happen to Mullai. Her family is with her and both of us are with her. What will happen to her?? Or will we let anything to happen to her?? (Zoya is about to say something but Aditya stops her.) Shhh. Trust me, Zoya. Nothing will go wrong. (Zoya nods and hugs Aditya. Later they join the family for lunch. As per Mullai's plan, AdiYa went for a long drive and at night they went for a dinner date arranged by Arjun. VM and PA also went for the dinner date.)

After few days

Karthik is working at his office when one of his staff entered his cabin.

Staff: Karthik, unggale paarke Mullai'nu oru ponnu vanthirukkangge.

Karthik: Vare sollungge. (The staff goes and Mullai enters after a while.) Vaangge!! Ukkarungge!! (Mullai smiles and sits in front of him.) En mugathile poosa ethavathu kondu vanthinggala?? (Mullai smiles feeling embarrassing recalling the incident.) Sorry. Chumma sonnen. Enna vishayam ingge vanthirukkingge??

Mullai: Akkas ungge kitte decorations….

Karthik: Haan!! Enakku avungge mail pannittangge enna mathiriyana decorations vendum'nu.

Mullai: Naan paakalama??

Karthik: Sure. Avungge ungge kitte sollaleya??

Mullai: Sonnaghe… aana….

Karthik: It's ok. (Turns his lap top towards Mullai.) Ithuthan avungge choose pannine deco. (Mullai looks at the deco and sighs.)

Mullai: Nenechen. Inthe mathiri ethavathu choose panniruppaghe'nu.

Karthik: Yen?? Ithu nalla illeya??

Mullai: Nalla irukku aana rombe simple'ah irukku. En akkas'ku inthe mathiri simple'ah irukke kudathu. First class'ah irukkanum.

Karthik: Ungge sisters'na avvalavo pudikkuma??

Mullai: Enakku en family'na avvalavo pudikkum. Avughale mathiri yaarume illei. Avughe illena naane illei. (Karthik is amused seeing her love for her family.)

Karthik: Ok. So, ippo avungge choose panninathe….

Mullai: Athu vendam. Naan onnu choose pannirukken. (Shows him a sample.) Ithuthan. Eppadi irukku??

Karthik: Azhaga irukku.

Mullai: (smiles) Ithe finalize pannirungge. Avughalukku teriye vendam. (Karthik smiles nodding his head.) Vere ethuva irunthaalum neengge enneye kelungge. 

Karthik: Ungge number?? (He hands over his mobile to Mullai. She smiles and types her mobile number in his mobile. She gives back the mobile to him. She turns to go when her mobile rings.) Naanthan. En number. Save pannikkungge. (She smiles shyly and leaves from there.) Cute. (He smiles to himself.)

The wedding preparation started. Karthik has becomes closer with everyone in Mullai's family especially with Mullai. Karthik always discuss about the preparation with Mullai. This has make them to become closer. Mullai has started to develop feelings for Karthik which noticed by the family. One evening all of them except VP are chatting with each other.

Akila: Kutty ma, Karthik eppadi?? I mean avaru character??

Mullai: Avughalukku enna?? Nallavagha, panbanavagha, anbanavaghe, porumai saali, ellorukkum mariyathai kuduppagha.

Arjun: Appa mathiri. Illei??

Mullai: (smiles) Hmm.

Malar: Appo avarukku tea pudikkuma??

Mullai: Che che. Only coffee. Athuvum strong ah.

Arjun: Vadai poche. (Mullai looks at him confusingly.) Illei, da. Neethane sonne unakku appa mathiri mappillai vendum'nu. Athan appa amma Karthik'eh unakku pesalam'nu nenechangge. Nee ippadi sollittone, vendam'nu nenekkiren.

Mullai: Yen vendam??

Arjun: Avarukku tea pudikkaleye. Appurom eppadi??

Mullai: Anne, ithellam oru reason'ah??

Arjun: Pinne?? Illeya??

Mullai: Avaru gunam appa mathiri irukku. Athu pothum.

Parvathy: Appo Karthik'eh unakku pesalama??

Mullai: Pesalam, ma. (She realised what she said and bites her tongue. AdiYa just entered the house heard her and smile happily. Zoya goes and hugs Mullai's shoulder.)

Zoya: That's my girl!! My sherni!!

Aditya: Paru ma, appa, don't waste time anymore. We have to discuss with Karthik's parents.

Murugan: Mullai, Karthik'ode appa amma engge irukkangge??

Mullai: Naan athe pathi avughe kitte ethuvum ketathu illei. Avughalum sonnathu illei.

Malar: Unakku avare pudichirukku'le?? (Mullai nods shyly.) Paaruda vekkathai. (Mullai blushes and hugs Zoya.)

Murugan: Appo mothe Karthik kitte pesuvom.

Mullai: Illei, pa. Enakku avughale pudichirukku. Avughalukku eppadinu teriyale.

Arjun: Appo neengge innum 'I love you' sollikaleya?? (Mullai shakes her head.)

Zoya: Jaan, I think better you confess your feelings first towards Karthik. If you wait for him, you will grow old. These men are very bad in confessing their love. (She gives a sarcastic look at Aditya who turns his face.) Even Aditya took three years to confess his love till I get bored waiting for his confession.

Aditya: As you didn't know that I love you?? My actions confessed to you. What can I do if you didn't understand?? (Thinks for a while.) Flower, I think Zoya is right. Better you tell your feelings towards him.

Malar: Enakkum appadithaan thonuthu. Paapa, nee Karthik kitte love'eh sollu. Avaru kandippa unneye accept pannuvaru.

Mullai: Sari, ka. Ippove sollidren. (All look at her in disbelief. She didn't realise it and takes her mobile. She puts back the mobile.)

Akila: Enna aachu, pattu kutty?? Aarvama mobile eduthe.

Mullai: Eppadi solrathu'nu teriyale, ka.

Arjun: Vaayale thaan sollanum. Ithu kudeyuma teriyathu. (Mullai stares at him while others chuckle.)

Malar: I love you'nu sollu, papa.

Mullai: Haiyoyo!! Padakku'nu eppadi solrathu?? Ennale mudiyathu.

Zoya: Don't worry, my jaan. We will train you tonight. Tomorrow you go and propose him.

Mullai: (nods shyly) Thanks, Zo anni.

The next day, Karthik came to Mullai's house. MuPar invite him inside.

Karthik: Marriage'ku innum 5 naal irukku. Ippove decorations start pannina better'ah irukkum. Athan Mullai'ye kootikittu polam'nu vanthen.

Arjun: Athu yen Mullai'ye alaichittu poganum?? Engge kitte ethuvum discuss panne kudatha??

Mullai: Anna, naanthan ivughale en kitte discuss panne sonnen.

Karthik: Ivungge akkas'ku ellame best ah thaan irukkanuma. Athan ivunggale ellathaiyum paarthu paarthu seiyurangge. Pogalama, Mullai?? (Mullai nods. They about to leave.)

All: (except MuPar) All the best!! (Mullai smiles shyly while Karthik is confused. They leave from there.)

At the Hall

Karthik and Mullai discussed and planned about the decoration. Karthik instructs his workers about the plan. They started to decorate the hall. Mullai and Karthik leave after a while.

While driving back

Karthik: Kekkanum'nu nenechen. Ethukku ungge veetule 'All the best' sonnangge??

Mullai: Enakkuthan sonnaghe.

Karthik: Athan yen?? Exam eluthe poringgala??

Mullai: Mothe inthe neengge vaangge pongge solrathu niruthughe. Nee vaa po'ne sollalam.

Karthik: Sari nee vaa po, ethukku 'all the best' sonnangge?? (Mullai chuckles hearing him.) Sirikkathe, sollu.

Mullai: Athu onnum illei. Ungge kitte naan dhairiyama love'eh sollanum'nu enakku wish panninaghe. (She said casually without realising what she said.)

Karthik: Oh!! Appadiya??

Mullai: (smiles) Aama!!

Karthik: Veedu vanthiruchi.

Mullai: Veedu engge vanthuchi?? Naamethan vanthom.

Karthik: Comedy?? (Mullai nods her head.) Sari. Iranggu. Naalaikki paakalam. (Mullai is about to get down from the car when she remembers something.)

Mullai: Naan ungge kitte enna sonnen??

Karthik: Veetukku vanthuttom'nu sonne.

Mullai: Illei. Vere etho sonnen.

Karthik: Vere ethuvum sollaleye.

Mullai: Illei. Sonnen. All the best.

Karthik: Oh!! Thank you.

Mullai: Illei. Athu…..

Karthik: Time aachu, Mullai. Unakkaga ellam wait pannittu iruppangge. Naame naalaikki pesalam. Ok. Bye. (Mullai nods and gets down the car feeling confused. Karthik watches her entering inside the house. He laughs to himself after a while.) Inthe mathiri vere yaarum yarukkum propose pannirukke maatangge!! (His face turns sad.) Sorry, Mullai. Unnei kadhalikkire thaguthiyo, un kadhale yethukire thaguthiyo enakku illei. Athu naalethaan nee sonnathukku naan enthe reaction'um kudukkale. Naan unakku sariyanavan illei. (He drives away from there.)

Mullai's House

AdiYa and ArMA are pacing at the living area waiting for Mullai.

Parvathy: Yen ellam ippadi nadanthukittu irukkingge??

Akila: Mullai ava kadhale Karthik kitte sonnala illeya'nu teriyale. Ore tension'ah irukku.

Parvathy: Nee mothe un kadhale Pugazh mappillai kitte sonniya?? Illei neeyum mappillaiyum jodiya enggeyavathu veliye poyirukkinggala??

Akila: Amma, amma mathiriya pesure?? Rombe veliye poga kudathu'nu ellam parents advise pannuvangge. Nee enna'na yen veliye pogale'nu kekkure.

Mullai's house is being decorated for the nalunggu function by AdiYa and ArMul. Karthik came there. Mullai smiles at him. He smiles back and turns his face from her. She feels hurt but she doesn't shows it. However, Zoya notices it and tells Aditya.

Karthik: Ethukku neengge inthe velai ellam panringge?? Naan workers anuppi irukkene.

Arjun: Engge veetu kalyanam. Konjom'aavathu naangge ethavathu seiyanumle. (Karthik smiles.) Mullai'ye alaichittu poge vanthinggala?? Mullai….

Mullai: Vendam, na. Vidungge.

Arjun: Yen ippadi nadanthukiraru??

Mullai: Nethu naan sonnenle. Athan avoid panraru. Paravale, na. Namme kalyanam veleye paarpom. (She said and leaves to her room.)

Aditya: Arjun, let the wedding finish first. We will talk with Karthik after that. Don't stress Mullai much on this matter. (Arjun agrees.)
