Isabella's POV
he whispered softly in my ear sending chill through my body.
My mouth probably looked like it hit the ground. before I could say anything else he quickly zoomed out of my bedroom and out the window leavening it open.
I ran over to the window, hoping to see where he went but the dark night made it almost impossible. I quickly shut the window before anything else could creep its way in. How did he get in? I was sure that window was locked. I always keep it locked.
I shrugged off the thought, not wanting to know how he did it. I hoped and prayed to God he didn't come back, but I had a feeling that he would.
Next time, I would make sure to call the police, even if he was beautiful. I wasn't going to trust him, I told myself that night that Marcus kissed me. I was never going to let another man lay a finger on me and that was a promise to myself I was going to keep.
I walked back over to my bed getting in and pulling the covers up over me. I would tell Leah but I know she wouldn't believe me even, if I did tell her.
"Harry," I said to the quiet room. That name suited him. I thought about his eyes, how beautiful they were and his body-
"Stop it, Isabella, what are you thinking? He just broke into your house," I said to myself.
I deiced just to go to sleep, not to think about the events that just happened. I closed my eyes and started to drift off to sleep.
* * *
I woke up the next morning with a killer headache. I got out of bed and walked toward the kitchen, going straight to the medicine cabinet. I took out Advil and popped two little blue pills into my mouth.
I then grabbed a banana and a glass of water and headed toward the living room to find Leah sprawled out on the couch sound asleep. She looked peaceful just sleeping there. Unfortunately she needed to get up. It was almost 12.
I decided to wake her up the fun way. I set my glass of water and my banana down and plopped myself down on her feet, waking her up.
"Get off of me!" she yelled with her head stuck in her pillow.
"It's time to get up!" I said with a cheerful and annoying voice that she hated.
"I hate you," she muttered back with her face still crammed in the pillow.
"No you don't, you love me! And if anybody is going to hate someone I think that someone should be me," that last part I said with a more stern voice.
"I know and I'm sorry," she muttered.
"You what? I can't hear you!" I said, acting like I couldn't hear her.
"I said I'm sorry, okay now can we forget about this?" I gave her a small smile and nodded yes.
"Yeah, I guess so," I said back.
"We should go out to eat 'cause I'm starving!" Leah said aloud making sure I heard her.
"I agree."
"Hey, can I ask you something?" I said looking over at Leah.
She sat up straighter and said, "Yeah, what is it?"
"D-do you believe in a-angels?" I stuttered. She gave me one of those looks like are-you-high.
"What made you ask that?" she questioned.
"You wouldn't believe me, even if I did tell you" I muttered to myself, hoping she wouldn't hear but she did.
"Just tell me please," she whined. She hated when I kept things from her.
"You're not going to believe me."
"I will try my best, now tell me," she said, trying to convince me that she would believe what I was about to say, even though I knew she wouldn't.
"Okay, fine." I paused before continuing, "An angel named Harry saved me from that car that was going to hit me that night you were drunk and since then he's been showing up in my dreams and yesterday he was chasing me and last night showed up in my room and told me he was an angel," I said as quickly as I possibly could.
Leah's mouth looked like it hit the ground.
"He's a what?!" she said raising her voice.
"An angel." My voice cracked at the word 'angel.'
"You don't really believe that he's an angel do you?" She gave me a questionable look.
"Well..." I trailed off.
"Isabella! He could be a murderer!" she said grabbing my arm.
"I know and he could but there's something about him that makes me look past the part that he was in my room-" she cut me off.
"When was he in your room!?" she shouted, her eyes looking like they popped out of her head.
"Last night, I told you this," I said.
"He didn't try anything, did he?" she asked, sounding like my mother.
"No!" I shot back.
"Good 'cause if he did I would have to have a talk with him," Leah said sticking her nose in the air now really sounding like my mother.
"So it's fine if guys at those parties-" she cut me off again.
"Wait!" she said, throwing her hands up.
"What?" I asked.
"If he's an angel, then where are his wings at?"
".... He didn't have wings," I replied.
"So you're trying to tell me that a boy named Harry saved you from getting hit by a car and has been showing up in your dreams, then last night told you he was an angel. You must be crazy to think I'm going to believe that!" she replied.
"I know and that's why I didn't want to tell you," I said back.
"Wait.... Was he cute?" she said with a smirk plastered on that perfect face of hers.
"Leah!"
"Wouldn't you want to know if he was cute if some angel thing was stalking me and don't say you wouldn't want to know," she said with a stern voice. I looked away from her gaze.
"I'm waiting" she said impatiently.
"Yes, he is very attractive and his eyes- oh don't get me started on them," I said sounding like a little school girl.
"What color hair and type and eye color. Tall, short, fat, skinny? Spill it, girl," she said excitedly.
"Brown, curly hair-" she cut me off.
"He has curly hair?" she said doubting any chance of him being cute now.
"Yes, but like loose curls," I said smiling.
"Okay, proceed," she said.
"So curly, brown hair, electric green eyes. Tall, very tall and skinny but kinda built but not over built though," I said letting out a breath.
"Well, he seems pretty hot other then him having curls, but then again I could see you running your fingers through them-"
"Leah!" I said cutting her off.
"What? You know you've thought about it," she mused nudging my side.
"No! I have not!" I shot back.
"Yeah whatever. So the next time you see him what are you gonna do, 'cause if it were me I would be asking him if he has a girlfriend," she said back looking over at me.
"Well I'm still kinda afraid of him you know 'cause he's still a man and well you know how I feel about them. I mean he's cute and all it's just he's kinda freaky. He shows up everywhere and in my dreams and well in my room last night that was pretty scary," I replied looking down at the ground.
"Yeah, I guess you're right that would be pretty creepy. Well I don't know about you, but I'm starving," Leah said changing the subject and getting up from the couch, tugging at my arm.
"Yeah, me too." We both went to our rooms to change clothes, then I headed towards the bathroom to apply makeup. I took out some foundation and blush applying them both then moving on to my eyes I took out some brown eyeshadow and applying that then putting on my mascara, skipping out on eyeliner today, then finishing off with some rosy pink lip gloss.
I tugged at my grey and pink flowered top pulling it down over my black leggings the long sleeve top covered my bum by an inch. I walked out of the bathroom, grabbing my black combat boots and slipping them on not bothering to grab a coat I heard the car horn honk and thought Leah actually got dressed and ready before me. I opened the door and shuffled down the steps and opened the car door.
Sure enough she was there in the drivers seat all dressed up and ready to go.
"It took you long enough!" she said as I hopped in the car.
"You have no room to talk normally, you're the one taking forever," I said sending her a glare.
"Fine, we're even then," she replied.
"Whatever you say," I muttered.
* * *
We were just now getting our food as the the waiter handed me my grilled chicken with vestibules and handed Leah's potato soup to her. As soon as the plates hit the table we both dug in. In less than 15 minutes we were both done eating.
Leah rambled on about some shoes she bought last night and to tell you the truth that was the last thing I was thinking about my mind kept replaying the dream I had had last night.
The one about my brother. Just the thought made my eyes start to tear up. I quickly pushed the thought to the back of my mind, not wanting to cry in public. I loved my brother too much for something to happen to him like that. He was like a father to me. Well he was the man of the house after my father died when I was 14.
He was just sitting at a stop light one snowy night when a drunk driver was too intoxicated to realize that he was driving way to fast and hit my dad's car. If my dad would have been wearing his seatbelt he probably would have lived when the truck hit his car.
He went flying through the dash window.
Sometimes I feel like I should have been the one to die in that car wreck. My dad was a good man; he never broke the law exempt that one night that he didn't wear his seatbelt and I did. Yes, I was in the car when the semi trunk hit our small car. When my father was thrown forward into the dash dying on impact all while I was sitting in my seat, not being able to move from my seatbelt holding me down. Not being able to help my dad even if I didn't know he died on impact.
I still feel like I could have done something, but no I couldn't that's one of the worse feelings in the world. When you see someone you love hurting and you can't do anything about it.
"Isabella are you okay?" Leah asked making me snap out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, I was just thinking," I replied.
"Okay, well I'm going to go pay," she said getting up.
"I'll come with you," I said getting up and pushing my chair in. We payed for the meal then headed toward the car. In the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of him. Harry.
I picked up my speed and started walking quickly to the car, dragging Leah with me.
"Hey, what's wrong?" she said.
"It's nothing c'mon," I replied.
"No, there's something wrong," Leah said stoping dead in her tracks, jerking me to a stop.
"Now tell me," she demanded.
"He's following us," I simply said.
"Who, Harry ?" she asked.
"Yes, now keep your voice down," I muttered.
"Why, you should talk to him. You know maybe you two could get together," she said, nudging my side.
"No, Leah. I thought about what you said earlier and how he could be a murderer or a rapist for all we know. We can't trust him," I said back now, practically dragging her to the car.
"Okay, okay, jeez. I'm coming," I looked up from the ground my eyes travailing up his long body till my eyes met his electric green ones. He was leaning on our car with a smirk plastered on his perfect face a gasp left my mouth and so did Leah's.
"I-is that him?" she stuttered.
"Yes, now run when I say so," I whispered to her. He stood up straight, starting to walk to us with that creepy smirk. The same one Marcus gave me right before he kissed me.
"Now!" I said signaling for Leah to run.
She got what I meant and started running just a few feet behind me. I looked back to see if he was following and sure enough he was, just maybe five feet behind Leah.
"Don't be afraid," I heard his raspy voice say in my head. 'How did he do that?' I thought.
"I can do a lot of things, babe," he said answering my question meant for me. I winced at the word 'babe' and started running faster down the sidewalk of London. People passing us just gave us looks of disgust and kept walking, not realizing that me and my best friend were being chased by probably a murderer.
"He's right behind me," I heard Leah's small voice say.
I needed a way to figure out how to lose him and saw my chance. There, coming up, was a turn so that was I guess going to be my best bit as we approached the turn. I looked back, still running and saw Leah five feet behind me and Harry following just a few feet behind her.
I saw Leah's eyes get big and she yelled, " ISABELLA WATCH OUT!"
I turned back around and was met with two headlights just a few feet from me. I didn't have time to think or do anything this time- the man I was currently running away from wasn't there to save me like before. I felt the car hit my body, throwing me backwards. I heard Leah let out a scream and I felt my back land hard on the concrete and then a cracking noise.
I let out a cry as I felt my back and ribs feel like they were on fire. I heard brakes screech and Leah ran over covering her mouth while she sobbed. My eyes were trying to close on me but right before they did I saw two tear-filled emerald green eyes staring back at me as my eyes closed.
I feared they may never open again.
