Chapter 25
Three months later
Well, everyone is in a festive and celebrating mood. The past three months have been tormenting, tiring and slow but they final reached an end. A young mother adores her growing bump she has been measuring for safety precautions and loves this period of pregnancy even though it took her more than two weeks to find the perfect sleeping position. Today she fought a battle and won. She will keep her baby and lovingly nurse it even without a partner. She has every reason to celebrate.
On the other hand, Willy settled easily at her school these past few months. Just like her sister Olivia, they both had difficulties forming new relationships with a bunch of strangers but she has progressed really well and made a friend. You do remember Laura. She is now Willy's second best friend after Carrie. Their relationship continues to grow and half been inseparable ever since they first met. On the other had Willy and Carrie talk every night after she comes back from school and early mornings before school to check in with her asking concernedly about her health. She does not go to school anymore and spends her time waiting for the day to come. They recently talked about the possible names for the baby and the better treatment she is given by her aunt since she announced her pregnancy.
"Wake up!" She shouted shaking Olivia vigorously. Knowing her insomniac tendencies, Willy took it upon herself to be in charge of her sister's morning routine that involved fixing a warm bath with her favorite rosemary soap prepared for her soothing morning refreshment. Also she usually made her hot coffee and warm French toast and a chocolate bar for good behavior. Willy has taken and mastered her role as a sister now.
"I'm up!" she shouted enthusiastically, which was the opposite of what she felt. She was exhausted and body-beaten and failed to walk properly to the bathroom. Hallelujah! The power of lavender woke her up instantly. In fifteen minutes she was done with her bath and made it back to her clean room (Willy picked up a few pizza boxes, milkshake cups and clothes on the floor) to dress up.
"Today it's milk and cereal day. Don't forget to drop off our blazers for dry-cleaning after school. You are so lucky to knock off early. I wish to be done with school already."
"Willy we just finished writing our exams, be patient. I guess you missed the announcement. Both of us are dismissing early today. Just because its Free Day for all seniors doesn't mean you get to stay at school." Willy's face lights up in gladness and packs their lunch and fixed her tie. Then she suddenly remembered that today her class was having a bonding section at the grounds to improve their sisterly affection towards one another. On a good note, its Free day! Maybe I should explain what Free Day is.
All seniors finished their final examinations a few days ago and are basically done with High school. So today is the day they get to accessorize and remake their uniforms to anything they want and go to school in it. Olivia had a meeting to go to so did not dress appropriate to the occasion and kept her uniform ironed and smart. Varren Publishing House wanted to see her urgently. She spent the whole night (last night) editing and adding more obstacles in her book so Josephine would agree to publish her second book.
Sorry my bad. Olivia is now the first youngest bestselling author in the country for writing the first ideational romance novel without any professional background in writing. Josephine felt that her second book would be a definite worldwide bestselling novel. Oh and pertaining to their first apartment together, they moved out and now live somewhere else. It is a new house she bought in the central suburbs. One last thing, they live with Laura now. She was kicked out by the landlord lady after she failed to pay the three months rent. She lived alone after grandmother died of a severe heart-attack and had nowhere else to go. Willy the good Samaritan offered her a roof over her head. Olivia could not refuse. The more the merrier.
"Why haven't you combed your hair Laura? Please go back to your room we are almost running late. Olivia you better finish eating that!" Willy was the perfect mother figure that Olivia greatly appreciated.
"And Olivia,"
"Yes Willy. What is it?"
"Jayden texted me last night saying I should remind you that he is taking you to dinner at eight."
"What made him think I would forget that," giggled Olivia.
"Did you just giggle?" asked Willy teasingly pointing at her with a fork in her left hand. Laura came to the kitchen and was served her cereal in a bowl.
"No," she replied hiding away her smile.
"Dude I know a giggle when I hear one and that my friend was a giggle." Laura was pretty sure of what she had heard and was happy for Olivia. The last couple of months were a torment to Olivia and she deserved a break.
"Fine. Maybe it was just a little bit," she illustrated the 'little bit' with her thumb touching her index finger.
"You should really start checking your phone, I mean you are finally done with your exams. Its time to switch on that baby of yours." Both Laura and Willy nodded in agreement taking in account the days they had tried to get a hold of Olivia and got no response from her because she did not have her phone on her. It was a really irritating experience for them.
"Please ladies stop attacking me at 0630 in the morning. Hurry up and let's go. Who's driving today?"
"Willy said it's you today so that you gain courage for your date tonight," Laura laughed decently because she knew that had been a lie. It was her turn today and like Olivia she was scared of driving on the streets of a busy city in the morning.
"It is not a date and I know what you just did there."
~Olivia~
Okay I see what's happening here. They are pretending not to know that today is my birthday. Are they? They really look and seem like they do not care or at least know. Look at them! Willy and Laura are checking their phones for any breaking news for the day. No special or unusual treatment. No cake or candles. Maybe there will be a surprise party? I did tell Jayden that I do not like to celebrate my birthday so maybe that is why they are acting normal today. But this year is different. I have a sister and a new little sister who I love dearly and they are pretty much the only reason that has made me want to celebrate my birthday. Should I tell them? No.
"Okay let's go." I said taking the car keys from the counter throwing and catching them. It was a little exercise for my hands.
"You better check your phone Olivia. I might text you in the middle of class bonding. I am tired of it already." Willy was pretty sure she was old enough not to be participating with a bunch of hormonal teenagers expressing their feelings about their food and school experiences. All she wanted was to go to university like Olivia net year.
"I will sis." I understood her concern. I had attended a plenty of those a lot and did not enjoy them at all.
I'm sorry I'm no longer communicative as before. I will tell you everything this time. Laura is driving. She took the keys from my hands when I was about to get into the driver's side of the car. I'm putting on my earphones to listen to any voice-mails and read a great deal of notifications showing on my screen. WTF!
