꧁𓊈𒆜"Chapter Two"𒆜𓊉꧂
Stealing Candy From
A Baby.

Visiting Ninjago during the day was something I disliked doing. Although in his current physical state, I held no  similarities to my father, it was kind of impossible to pass off as a normal citizen when evil ran though my veins.

I had urges, prominent urges to dissapear in thin air, turn into smoke and cause distress on the streets. It was funny how people reacted to the smoke from my power clogging their throats, taking away their ability to breathe.

I never killed anyone though. I wasn't a murderer.

Yet.

I liked to leave people with enough trauma so that they couldn't forget about me. I wanted them to remember me when I took over Ninjago with my father by my side. We'd be more powerful than the Ninja who would try to stop us. I was sure of it.

I studied the ground below me, bracing myself for impact as I fell to the ground, rolling effortlessly into a crouch once I halted on the ground. A loud, surprised gasp came from someone in front of me.

"Asher Garmadon," The kid seemed awed and I couldn't help but grin.

I would always love how the students of Darkley's looked up to me. I loved the attention I got from them.

"Hey kid," I shot him a glance, kneeling up from my crouch.

"W-what are you doing here?" He stammered, but before I could speak he prattled on, "Are you wanting our evil minds to help you against the Ninja? Are you going to train us to be as bad as you!?"

Although I thought it was cute that he wanted to be like me, I had only come to this school for one thing multiple times. And that was not going to change. If I wanted an army of little devils behind me, only then would I come here for a different reason.

"What do you think I'm here for?" I rose an eyebrow, glancing down at him with an annoyed expression.

He looked embarrassed and that pleased me slightly.

I didn't wait for an answer, instead I walked up the steps and pushed open the grand doors. It made me think to myself of how lucky I was that I was placed into the four arms of my father instead of being swaddled up and placed on the doorstep of this place.

The receptionist quite literally shat himself when he saw me. It was the pure reaction of fear that I enjoyed seeing from people when they noticed me. It's what made being evil so fun.

"A-a-asher G-garmad-d-don,"

"Sh-sh-shut u-u-up," I mocked, glaring at him as I passed by, ignoring the terrified looks of the staff, even though it licked my ego brilliantly.

I passed the classrooms, walking down the hallways and enjoying the attention I got from the children standing by their lockers. I climbed the two flights of stairs and pushed opened the dorm room, walking down to the end room and walking through the door, too lazy to open it this time and instead resorting to using my smoke.

"Oh Lloyd," I sang, leaning against his bookshelf.

A loud clattering sound broke the silence and his head popped out from a pile of clothes near the wardrobe. I smirked.

"Ash!" He cried happily, leaning from the pile and running straight at me.

I pulled him close, grinning into our embrace. Aside from our father and the mischievous shenanigans I got up to, Lloyd was one of the only things that brought my real feelings to the surface.

"How you doin' Bud?" I asked, pulling back to ruffle his hair.

He pouted and pushed my hand off his head.

"I'm good! I'm so good!" He smiled, looking up at me proudly, "I'm looking for an evil costume, wanna help me look?"

An evil costume...?

"What evil plans d'you have?" I smirked, walking over to the little pile he constructed.

"I wanted to escape school and go to town to steal all of the candy. I'm Lord Garmadon's son, I'm scary," He announced proudly, grabbing a handful of clothes.

I pursed my lips. He was sort of... the opposite of scary. Sure, the kid could play a mean prank on someone, but a bunch of fireants in someone's laundry wasn't going to make a whole town give up their sweet tooth. He was on the right track though, some people would give in immediately at the realisation that he was Garmadon's son.

But now that he had been banished to the Realm of Darkness, nobody would really be that bothered to wrong the younger boy. It wasn't like their father would be around to punish them.

As much as Lloyd tried, he really wasn't scary on his own. But with his brother? Maybe I could change things for him.

"Hmm, well I'm not sure a bunch of school uniform is going to make you look evil but here's something I can do," I moved his shoulders so he was facing me.

Lloyd had a perfect school uniform, his shirt tucked in, his tie straight, his blazer smart. I couldn't help but laugh at him. He frowned at me and I took the expression away, not wanting to damage his ego.

Carefully, I loosened his tie and unbuttoned his top button, untucked his shirt and took off his blazer.

"Now you look cool," I praised, proud of my work.

"Like a badboy?" He asked, admiring his appearance in the mirror.

"Exactly," I nudged his shoulder, directing him to his bedroom door, "Now let's go get you some candy,"

...

Thanks to my father, after he stole the element of smoke and gave it to me, he helped me develop my skills which allowed me to focus enough and create my own vehicle. It flew in the air, I liked how Lloyd looked out of the window in awe of how high we were.

We settled down behind the walls of the town and I pulled the energy inside me, making the vehicle dissapear into smoke.

"When can I do that?" Lloyd asked, waving his hand in the smoke I left behind.

"When you're old enough," I mused absentmindedly, knowing full well there was a chance he would never be able to.

I kept him close to me as we entered the town and walked down the mostly empty streets. Lloyd looked around, eyeing up the candy stalls. I waited for the right moment and looked to my brother. This would be a good time to teach him how to live to his name.

"Stand over there and show me how you'd make these people give you want you want. I'll be right behind you, watching," I promised, walking with him behind the water fountain.

I waited silently for Lloyd to start his act but was distracted by a small bang. I looked to see a woman staring, struck and frozen at me, the pots in her hands having fallen to the floor.

"Garmadon!" She cried, starting her run away.

As soon as the word slipped from her mouth, the other citizens outside of their homes, everyone else seemed to have the same reaction.

I heard Lloyd giggle, he must've thought that reaction was caused because of him. I let him think that, it was cute seeing him try to be like his bloodline.

His laughs turned into something more menacing, he was trying to copy the way our father cackled at the sight of something evil. I smirked, listening and watching the scene play out. He walked out from behind the fountain with confidence.

"It is I, Lloyd Garmadon!" He yelled, jumping onto the fountain to get more height, "I demand all the candy in town, or else I'll release the serpentine on you!"

I heard a sudden crash from outside the town walls and looked over, brushing it off. It could've been anything.

The townsfolk slowly but surely came out of their houses. The woman who cried at the sighting of me didn't appear, but the rest of her town surely thought that she was talking about Lloyd. They booed at him and I found myself clenching my fists.

But then I froze.

Ninja.

The four of them were walking between the townsfolk, their golden weapons on their back or holstered to their side. If they even dared hurt Lloyd--

He hadn't seemed to of noticed them creep towards him. Lloyd pulled out a can of prank snakes and opened them. They hit a couple of the people who retaliated with vegetable throwing.

No. No! Where was his anger? Where was his fury and feisty thoughts telling him to hurt those who was hurting him. They were mocking him!

"No! Wait! I asked for candy, not vegetables! I hate vegetables!" Lloyd dodged some of the throwings, but wasn't able to miss one which forced him backwards into the water.

"Don't worry folks, nothing to see here. We'll take care of this," The Black Ninja stepped forward to grab my brother and with a flick of my wrist, a bullet of smoke flew out and pushed him away.

"What makes you so sure?" I growled, appearing next to my brother in a blast of smoke, both fists clenched protectively, smoke surrounding them.

All the villagers who assaulted my brother ran off with a cry. I smirked, unable to help myself.

"Asher," The Red one hissed, pulling out his sword, "So you put your brother up to this?"

"Not cool dude!" The blue one defended Red.

"Lloyd is equally as evil as I am. He wanted to do this," I defended my brother with a slight lie.

"Yeah! I wanted to do this!" He crossed his arms and smirked proudly next to me.

"Well, I guess we'll have to stop the both of you," The Black one who nearly made the mistake of laying a finger on my brother brought out his scythe.

I chuckled darkly. It was cute that they even thought I wouldn't put up a fight. The inequality of numbers didn't phase me, my main interest was keeping Lloyd out of the action whilst single handedly landing a hit to all four of them.

"Lloyd, go back to school," I hissed to him.

"What? No, I'm fighting with you!" He objected.

"Now, I'll bring you your damned candy, leave!" I glared at him, watching his face scrunch up before he ultimately decided that he should leave.

I watched the Ninja closely, daring just one of them to go after my brother. They didn't and stared at me.

This was going to be fun. My father had told me the Red one had the most distaste for my family, the blue one sucked at concentrating, the Black one was too strong, and the White one was the one I needed to be worried about.

I could use the Black one's strength against him, make him pull a big move but trick him to direct it at the blue one who probably wouldn't notice in time to move.

With a grunt, I jumped from the fountain and shot a blast of smoke out of my fist, watching the way he struggled to breathe through the thick cloud.

"Cole!" The Red one yelled, rushing over to help, but he didn't get there in time.

Cole seethed at me and jumped into the air, landing with his fists in the ground, striking a dangerous amounts of unnatural rock in my direction.

I smiled at him and turned to smoke. The rocks hit the Blue one.

"Jay!" Cole yelled, leaping over to help the friend he hurt.

Some may find my new position as one that lead to my downfall, but it didn't. The white Ninja and the Red one both shot their powers out at me, which I jumped to avoid. Ice and fire collided and a spurt of water soaked the White Ninja.

I was too busy being distracted by my ability to make 3 of the Ninja unable to fight to remember about the Red one. He grabbed me from behind, pressing an elbow into my side.

I groaned, grabbing his hand and pulling his fingers back. I lifted his arm over my head, pounding two punches into his abdomen.

"Ah!"

I was grabbed from behind, Cole lifted me into the air then launched me 20ft away from him. I hit a market stall and it broke over me, definitely creating some cuts and bruises.

I heard their footsteps approach me and I got up as quick as I could. Maybe I underestimated them.

"Do you want to continue?" Red asked, crossing his arms, "Or do you give up,"

"I never give up," I snapped, glaring daggers at the boy.

He had brown eyes, I could've sworn I'd seen them before.

"Have it your way," He hissed, his fists raising with a ball of fire sat on it.

My eyes widened and defensively, I turned into smoke and made myself unable to be attacked. I ran from them, clearly not powerful enough to take them down by myself.

I cursed at myself. I felt weak, how couldn't I have put up with them for longer?

Knowing they were in the town centre and not following me, I returned back to normal, something in one of the stores grabbing my attention.

It was a black jacket with a ribcage design either side of the zips. It came with a hood and a cape and looked as if it would fit Lloyd exactly.

I smashed the window and grabbed it.

...

Arriving back to my brothers dorm with a bloodied, cut lip and aches in my joints wasn't something I wanted him to see, but I had a gift to give him. He was sat on his bed, his uniform the way I had made it earlier. When he saw me, his expression was priceless.

"Did you win!?" He asked, looking excited to hear the answer he wished for.

"No," I sighed, "But that's ok because now I need to know that I need to get stronger,"

Lloyd needed to know that losing one battle didn't necessarily mean it was the end of the world. Mistakes were a priority for learning how to make yourself better.

"But I got you something," I changed the subject, reaching into the bag that I stole alongside the outfit.

"Did they do that?" He pointed to my lip, frowning.

"Don't worry about it," I frowned, licking the cut, "I found you an evil outfit,"

He took the bag and pulled out my finding with a wide smile.

"Asher! This is perfect! Thank you!" He hugged me and nuzzled into my chest.

I smiled softly. He was such soft kid.

"I'm gonna try this on right now!" He grinned, racing to the bathroom, excited to show off his new look.

I watched him fondly.

He sure had a lot to learn about being evil.
