Chapter 98
You politely refuse, receiving an impressive expression.
"Are you really out of your mind? I just offered you a safe way back home. I know it might not looks like but I'm telling you the truth. Why would you want to help me? This doesn't make any sense."
"You still didn't answer me, so I'll keep my answers too. Now, how can I help?" You ask again, confidence reflecting in your voice.
"Good point. First of all, I work alone. There's nothing you can help me with," he starts, pausing himself, and for a few seconds he scans you.
"But if you truly want, I mean you can make me a pleasant company? Only if you stay in the car and don't leave it though."
"Of course," you smile, feeling his walls slowly melting down.
"Give me a few minutes now."
The room sinks into the silence, except for a rhythmical keyboard buttons. You're pretty sure this wasn't a good time to ask him anything, as he was fully focusing on the laptop. You're really happy with you decision to help him, as you don't feel so threatened by him. After few more minutes he closes the laptop, standing up.
"Ready to go? Are you really sure about this?" he asks you for the final time.
"I'm sure," you reply, and you know that if you wanted to back away you would have done that a long time ago.
You follow him to the exit doors, when he hands you new men shoes and a blue jacket. The moment you get that on, you feel his scent. Making you feel warm and protected. Not quite sure if that was from the jacket of from him.
After that he locks the house door behind both of you, holding a car's door for you like a true gentleman. You get in, and while you're buckling he gets in too.
"We're not driving too far. There was some man who wanted his daughter to be killed. Now he refuses to pay me for that bullshit," he informs you, looking at his phone.
"So you're some sort of a hitmen?" You ask him, while he starts to drive to some direction.
"I'm what people want me to be."
"Sounds like a cheap hooker," you mumble mostly to yourself, receiving a chuckle.
"Never tried that actually, but if you're willing to pay for that..."
He gives you a quick glance, then returns his eyes back on the road with a smirk plastered on his face. You on the other hand feel your cheeks burning up.
"Here we are," he whispers, slowing his car down.
You're in front of a Chinese restaurant with quite a lot people inside. He looks into his phone, nodding to himself.
"Don't leave the car. If I won't return in some time, just get the fuck out of here," he commands you, before opening the door.
You pulls his jacket closer to your body as the cold wind attacks you. He closes the door behind, and you see him going through the trunk. When he's done, he gives you the last stare, before running his fingers through his hair. As he do that, you notice a guns under his suit.
Watching him walk inside, you see him talk to the receptionist. She nods, leading him somewhere out of your vision.
Minute passes minute, hour passes hour, but he's still not back. You have a bad feeling about this, kinda worried about the blue eyed man.
You:
• Drive away (Chapter 99)
• Get out and look for him (Chapter 100)
