The Hunt Part Two

As soon as we arrived back in Fells Church, I set my plan into motion. Tyler was a werewolf. He liked to feast on humans, if he could lure one away from the public. My plan was to have Poppy, who didn't smell remotely of vampire and was a stranger to Fells Church, walk around town, near to Tyler, and begin flirting with him, then she'd let him 'lure' her to his favourite spot by his ancestors grave, where the rest of our team will be waiting to attack him, and torture information out of him.

"So you know what you're doing?" I asked, as I fluffed her hair once more, trying to make the curls more bouncy.

"Yes, Elena, flirt, lure, incapacitate. I've got this down." Poppy replied, with a nervous laugh.

Sure, Poppy was a badass witch, but for all the time I've known her, and all the stories she's told me, she's never been in a confrontation with another supernatural being. This was going to be somewhat scary for her. Poppy was hilariously devious and mischievous, but she was innocent. And innocent in this world is hard to come by.

"Good. We'll meet you at the cemetery, but if anything happens before then, call me, and I'll be there straight away, and I'll kill Tyler. Regardless of the info we need." I said, with a look of concern plastered across my face.

"Elena, I'll be fine! Besides, if he messes with me, he's messing with the wrong witch." Poppy said, her eyes hardening. I didn't like it.

I sighed, and stepped away from her.

"Fine, off you go. Don't die. I don't fancy being haunted."

Poppy laughed and ran out my bedroom, almost knocking Damon over as he walked in.

I sat down on the edge of my bed, drumming my fingers on my lips nervously. Damon just leant against the doorframe, watching me, probably waiting until I calmed myself down, or started rambling about how I didn't like my own plan. Or he was just staring down my tank top. Probably the last one. He's a pervert.

"I wish she knew a spell that could switch us over. I hate putting her into this position. Especially as its our fault." I said, still tapping my fingers against my lips.

"She'll be fine. All she's going to do is lure him to the grave and then we pop out and get what we need, and then we can send him on his merry way, provided he promises to keep his mouth shut." Damon replied back, with his usual sarcastic, sardonic pizzazz. I rolled my eyes at him, not feeling entirely comforted by his attempt at calming me down from my spiral of self-doubt.

"If you say so. Let's go. The others are all ready waiting at the graveyard. What with Poppy's feminine wiles, I doubt we'll have to wait long." I said, standing, taking his hand and leading him out. I grabbed a leather jacket and my car keys and then we left to get the answers we desperately needed. Otherwise we'd be fighting a group of super werewolves with no idea as to how to kill them or how to survive in a fight with them. And then we'd be screwed.

Turns out I had thoroughly underestimated Poppy's seduction abilites. When I had told Damon we probably wouldn't have to wait long before Tyler succumbed to Poppy's flirting, I had meant we would have had like an hour and a half wait, but she got him there in about thirty five minutes. I was very, very proud of my witch friend.

Tyler led her through the graveyard, further and further out of sight of the newer graveyard and into the older parts where his ancestor's tomb was. Poppy was laughing at something he said when they came clear into view. He stood proudly in front of his ancestor's headstone, and I had flashbacks of a night exactly like this that happened years ago, when Tyler had performed the very same 'seduction' technique on me. It fuelled me with rage. When I saw Tyler getting too close to Poppy for my liking, I gave the others the signal, and stepped out. I cleared my throat and Tyler spun round, a growl resonating deep in his chest as he looked for the threat. His eyes froze when he saw me, and I could almost hear his thoughts in his head 'She's dead. She's dead. I'm seeing ghosts again'

"Hello, Tyler. Miss me?" I questioned, smirking at him as his face paled.

"Elena? How-You're a vampire." He said, his eyes narrowing in hate as he realised what I now was.  Vampires and werewolves are natural mortal enemies. They were slaves to the moon, and we were cursed by the sun. It's the natural order of opposites.

"Smart boy, but not smart enough. Poppy, you can do your thing now." I instructed her, and she nodded, her eyes closing as she concentrated on Tyler. He looked back and forth between us, before he crumpled to the ground, screaming in what I can only imagine as excruciating pain, and clutched his head which was slowly turning red.

"Why are you doing this?" He yelled at me.

"Because, Toto, we've got questions and you're going to answer them on a pass/fail system. Passing means giving us the answers we need, failing means failing to give us the answers we need and death." Damon said, as the rest of my torture team stepped out. I nodded at Poppy, as I stepped forward, after taking the reinforced chains from Stefan, and chained him to his ancestors headstone. She stopped her witchy mental pain infliction and Tyler practically panted in relief.

"What answers? What do you want?!" Tyler asked, and I grinned at him, loving the tears he had in his eyes, the fear. This is what he had done to me when he had brought me here after that dance. I think it was Homecoming. He had attacked me, forced himself on me, not cared about the pain he had wanted to inflict upon me. And now it was my turn to exact my revenge.

"A few months ago, Damon and I slaughtered a bunch of superwolves, but it turns out those were just baby furballs. You, Fido, are going to tell us all about them and then lead us to the last place you saw them. Because we know that your family is involved. Brady Lockwood phoned his darling little girl, only to find that I had plunged my hand into her chest and ripped out her beating heart. So you give me answers, Lockwood," I informed him, bending down so we were face to face. I tilted my head to the side as I pretended to study him, resting my elbows on my knees as I crouched. "Or I'll kill you, slowly and painfully. We'll call if revenge for myself, Bonnie, Sue Carson, Vicki, and Caroline. She had your little puffs of fur, didn't you know? Poor things didn't survive very long though, and Caroline almost died because of it, but we managed to save her. But becoming a vampire seems to have given me a bit of a short temper, and I don't have any patience anymore either. Unfortunately for you."

Tyler gulped and I grinned at the sight of his discomfort. I needed the information and he would give it to me.

"I'll tell you everything. Just don't hurt me, Elena." Tyler whispered, ducking his head in defeat.

"Aw, I'm disappointed. I was hoping you'd refuse to talk so I could beat the answers out of you," I hissed, grabbing his face and forcing him to look me in the eye. "I was going to make it slow, probably start with breaking your fingers before moving to the bigger bones. Once I was done there, I would drag the wolfsbane we brought across your skin before forcing it down your throat. And only when you were screaming, when you were begging me to stop, I would and you would give me my answers."

Tyler looked at me in fear, and I could feel Stefan, Bonnie and Matt's judging eyes burning into my back, but I ignored them. This was an interrogation, and if I was going to intimidate Tyler I would have to be cold and heartless. Showing weakness or insecurity would compromise my position as intimidator.

"What do you want to know?" Tyler managed to say.

"How many of them are there? How many packs?" Damon questioned, standing close behind me, an ever present calming presence.

"There's only one pack. Mostly Lockwoods. But it's big. If you killed half of them, I'd say that there should be only twenty six left." Tyler answered, looking thoughtful for a brief moment before he realised

"Where are they?" Stefan asked.

"Now? Atlanta. They're planning something. An attack, most likely. They'll probably be ready in a week."

A week? That's a significantly short timeline.

I looked back at Damon, and straightened up.

"Time to start strategizing," I looked back at Lassie, and smirked. "We could use him. It's his family. They trust him, and they don't know he's telling us everything. I think it's time to get a dog collar. Unfortunately for you, Tyler, you aren't going anywhere."

Tyler gulped out of fear again, and my smirk widened as I realised what a golden opportunity had fallen into our laps. Tyler had been initiated, which meant he had their strengths and weaknesses. We could study him and find a way to wipe them out.

Today wasn't a good day to be Tyler Lockwood.
