I ran towards Bonnie's ever dimming aura, I could hear her screaming inside my head.

My legs were blurring underneath me, I was running faster than I've run in the past two years of my new life. I had no reason to, but now every fiber of my being is moving towards Bonnie and Matt, as if everything depends on it.

Which everything does, so many people's lives are going to be hanging in the balance today. Damon, Stefan, Bonnie, Matt, Meredith, Alaric, everyone is depending on me to finish this. Once and for all, Loki will die.  I know my powers are going to be tired, but I have a plan in place. A plan Damon won't like at all, but if it saves him and the others, I'm going to see it through. No matter what it costs me.

I thought about what I had to do when the sound of Bonnie's screaming became louder, and it wasn't just in my head. I pushed myself forward, only now noticing Damon and Stefan not too far behind me, even though I was tired, not a good thing. I wouldn't last as I was now, so I changed into a snow white hawk. I hid myself in a tree and waited for the weather to turn. I willed it to snow, a thunderstorm and waited for the sky to turn dark.

I could see everything. Bonnie and Matt tied together. Matt's head was hung forward as though he was unconscious; however Bonnie was far too aware. I could hear her calling me, but I couldn't let her know, I was here without giving myself away. I saw Damon in crow form circling the clearing, and Stefan also a hawk landed next to me. He was a dark brown hawk with lighter brown tips. I didn't choose the white, otherwise I would be jet black like Damon, a raven maybe.

Stefan, you will get them out of here. Don't argue with me.

I'll come back for you.

No, you'll stay at the house and guard the others.

His wing twitched to say yes.

Damon landed the other side of me, and did our signal. We can read each other with just a glance in human form, but it was more difficult as a bird.

The signal stood for, better start now.

I spread my wings, flew down and landed on Matt's knee. His eyes opened and he squinted at me. I tried to communicate that it was me, but I don't think he got it, so I moved to Bonnie.

I landed on her lap, and she picked me up with her tied hands. Her eyes looked straight into mine, and recognition flashed in them.

"Elena..." She whispered.

"Has your "savior" arrived, child?" Loki's voice came from behind me.

Bonnie kept her panic stricken eyes on me. I felt anger build up inside me, and start to boil over. She was frightened. No one had the right to scare Bonnie.

"What's that in your hands, child?" She put me back in her lap.

"Is it a bird?  A white hawk, there shouldn't be such a bird in these parts." He moved to take a look at me.

For a moment, I thought it was Loki, who blocked out the light, but the weather was finally turning. A few snowflakes fell to the ground.

"Snow in August?" Shinichi's voice asked.

Loki outstretched his hands to pick me up, so I twitched my head, signaling to Damon and Stefan.

I'm on the move.

I outstretched my wings to their full wing-span and let Loki move closer. His big meaty hand was an inch away from me, when I rose and flew into his face, aiming my talons at his eyes.

I clawed at his face, ripping flesh off his arms, listening to his screams made me want to chuckle. He started to swing his arms around trying to grab me so I pulled in my wings and landed a safe distance away from him.

"It looks like Miss Gilbert has arrived." Miaso commented with a chuckle.

"Why doesn't she face me in human form, is the baby too scared?" Loki said.

My anger was controlling me now; I had no rational thought left in my body. I flew up into the sky, high up so they could just barely see me.

"She's leaving now, witch. Now I'll kill you and your human."

I nosedived straight for him. His eyes widened, as I shifted forms just before impact. A white snow leopard pounced at him, clawing and biting. He screamed like the little baby he is, as I enclosed my muzzle around his upper arm, and jerked it, tearing at the skin and muscle.

Take out Tweedledumber and Tweedledumbest while I kill Tweedledum. I sent to Damon, while tearing my way though Loki's forearm. This was way too easy, why was it too easy? I asked myself.

He's lulling me into a false sense of protection. He's trying to make me feel like I've won, before its even begun.

I was right. He threw me off, a few yards in front of him, and then proceeded to kick me repeatedly in the ribcage. I swiped a paw at his leg, extending my claws fully into his foot. He yelped, but smiled down at me.

I knew that look, it's the superiority look. Damon uses it with Stefan all the time. Why is Loki using it now? I look past him at Bonnie and Matt. She is about an inch away from getting impaled by very large branch.

STEFAN, QUICK GET TO BONNIE. I DON'T WANT A KEBAB FOR A FRIEND!!!

On it!

I saw him pin Miaso down, getting a few quick hits in on her face, then very quickly snapping the branch in front of Bonnie's chest.

I transformed to my human form, tripped Loki up, and got to my feet.

"How about Loki, we fight human-style. A one on one fight, no rules," I said.

"No powers to be used and no outside help. Deal?" I held out my hand, wiping the blood that was trailing down my chin.

He smirked, and took my hand, and suddenly I was on the floor and he was straddling me. I let him get in a couple of good punches, before I'd had enough.

"Sorry, Loki, but I'm going to have to show you up in front of your kids now."

I bent my knees and crushed them to my chest, so they were underneath him still. I lifted my legs up and through his, so my legs were in front of my face. Then I snapped them towards his chest, sending him flying into a tree several yards from us.

I saw Damon, pinned to the ground by Shinichi, and my heart started racing. I sped over there launching myself at him, so we tumbled off Damon and landed with me on top of the kitsune.

I looked at Damon, saw he was okay, and then sped back to Loki, who was making his way to Stefan. I kicked his legs out from underneath him, and punched his knee cap, breaking it. I heard him scream but I was too preoccupied with everything else going on. Loki, being a dirty fighter, took advantage of my distraction. I was watching Damon, watching him kicking Shinichi hard in the head as he lay on the ground, so I never saw the branch until it was lodged in my side. I held I my scream, rising shakily to my feet, as he pulled it out, and then blinding pain as he shoved it into my back. I let a small cry out, which made everyone look in my direction. Damon's blue eyes connected with mine, and I told him to stay where he was.  He shook his head. I got up, pulled the makeshift stake from my lower back, and wearily snapped it in half with my knee.

I looked at Loki, stumbled towards him.

"You want to fight dirty, and then I'll fight dirty." I spit at him. I noticed that no one had returned to their fights, even Shinichi and Miaso halted their attacks to see who won ours.

I thought about how much I loved Damon, how unlikely it was I was going to live through this to kiss him again.

I cried as the next unexpected blow came. A small, thick branch was protruding from my stomach. He had thrown it with such force that it had lodged itself in my stomach. I would lose energy if I took it out, and I need all the energy I have.  I staggered towards him, and he let me.

I put my hand on his shoulder, and he thrusted the stick further into my abdomen.  I screamed, but didn't let go of his shoulder, I moved my face closer to his ear.

"You're going to die with me, Loki," I whispered. "Wings of Death."

I didn't feel the dark, ebony wings grow out of my back, or hear the gasps or cries of my friends. I saw Loki fall, taking his last breath to curse my name. I looked over at Shinichi and Miaso, who were huddled together, holding on to each other.

"Change everything back, now." I managed to say.

They nodded vigorously, and started chanting words I couldn't hear. I slumped to the ground, with my hands on the home-made stake in my stomach and used what strength I had left to pull it out. Damon was by my side, holding me up, saying words I couldn't understand. I could see the same white light I saw in the tomb, when I died on my first time of being a vampire, when I was in love with both of the Salvatore's. Now things have changed. I've changed.

The light keeps getting brighter, but I turn my head away from it.

"I don't want to leave yet." I whisper to Damon.

"I don't want you to leave ever. You can't leave me. It's not our time yet."

I look from his face to the kitsune twins, who have stopped.

"Have you done?" My voice barely audible to myself.

They nodded, holding each other's hands, shaking.

I raised my weak hand and pointed at them. The dark shadow that choked Loki's life from him, moved slowly like a serpent, towards them.

It crept over the grass, withering every life form in its path. When it nears them, they are crying and sobbing and clutching each other.

I feel sorry for them. They would have left long ago, I suppose, if it weren't for their father commanding them to stay. My hand suddenly feels like a dead weight and falls to the ground with a gentle thud.

"Go now and never come back. I may die today, but I'll keep watch over this town like I did before and if you come back, I'll kill you."

Shinichi pushed Miaso off him and disappeared, with Miaso following shortly after.

I felt really tired, something I haven't felt for two years. It's all over. Life, love everything...

I'll never feel the touch of Damon's hands, or hear his beautiful voice, or never look into those loving, pale blue eyes that swallow my soul. I'll never feel one of his kisses, never touch him, never be able to tell him I love him ever again. I collapse from my knees to my side, but Damon pulls me onto his lap, my head resting in his arms.

"Elena, don't leave me, please," Damon's eyes fill up with tears.

"We've still got so much to do, to see. I still need to marry you, remember. We could go to New York, and you could take Bonnie and Meredith to the shopping district. We could buy a new car. I know you've had your eyes on a Jeep. I could get it for you. You've barely lived, just stay with me please."

I wanted to stay with him, so badly, but the light was getting brighter in my eyes.

"Bonnie, leave them be." I heard Stefan's faint voice say.

"I can save her, Stefan, she just needs my blood," Bonnie's voice was really close, right beside me.

"She needs the blood so her body will repair itself. I'll give her as much as she needs."

I try to shake my head at her. I don't want to drink from Bonnie, she's one of my best friends. I couldn't.

"When Bonnie's done, she can have some of my blood." I heard a familiar voice say from a distance away. Was Matt still here? I'm glad he's awake.

"Just do it." Damon said, lifting my head up. I can smell a freshly open cut, the smell of human blood wafting up my nose. I try to pull my head away, but Damon's hand is stronger than me. I try closing my mouth, but before I do, blood starts trickling down my throat and a bleeding wrist is thrusted upon my mouth. I try pushing it away, but the blood lust takes other and my hands start clutching the wrist closer, tighter to my face.

"Elena, you're taking too much. Stop."  Stefan's voice is slightly stronger now. I listen to him, releasing my hold, and unclenching my jaw.

More blood is being forced down my throat, and I let it, but I make sure my arms are tightly held in by side.

"Elena, are you feeling stronger now?" Damon's voice asks, whispering in my ear.

The once so bright light is dimming, and things are coming into focus. The blood is cut off, and something moves away from my side.

Damon's blurry face is right above mine. I reach a hand upwards to touch it, and he holds my hand against his cheek.

"Damon..."  I force out. My throat is sore and my voice sounds stretched and croaky.

"Yes, love. What is it?"

"I love you so much." My voice groans.

He chuckles. What a beautiful sound. I replay it over and over in my head.

"I thought I'd never hear you say that again." He says. Rain starts falling onto my face. It tastes weird.

Damon's face is becoming slightly more dark and fuzzier.

"Is it raining?" I ask.

"No. I love you Elena." His voice says to me.

The world blacks out around me, but I can still feel. Damon's arms are around me, and we're moving. I'm losing consciousness, and just before I fall into a long sleep, I hear Meredith's voice.

"Well you guys look rough."
