Lexi's Interested...
No.18
I was calling all the female vampire acquaintances I had on my cell, including close friend Lexi, who I personally wouldn‘t mind seeing with Stefan. I knew that her boyfriend had died last year, and that maybe she was still grieving, but this would be good for the both of them. Lexi was what Stefan needed; she was kind, loyal, bubbly, fun and really beautiful.
We met her in the States, but in a quaint village somewhere south of California. We’d both been eyeing up the same victim in a dark alley at night. I mean he had looked absolutely delicious, an athlete so he had healthy blood, and he was good looking, and had no wedding band, so he was easy meat.
We both kind of walked up to him to seduce him, when we got into an argument instead. Then after we’d finished throwing punches, we went out for drinks, and that’s where a beautiful friendship bloomed.
“Lexi! Hey, it’s Elena.” I greeted her.
“Hey, how are you? I heard you got engaged!” She said, her voice sounding like something naughty had gone on.
“Yeah, how’d you find out about that?”
“Heard it on the grapevine. How did you manage it? Many a girl has tried to snare Damon Salvatore into a relationship, human and vampire alike and you get him to propose! You, my good woman, are a goddess!”
“That’s what he said.” I said, using the age old joke that was used a lot in my Maths lessons between our male teacher and the boys in high school.
“You’re so bad, Gilbert, or the soon-to-be Salvatore! Elena Salvatore, it fits. Like you were meant to marry him.”
“Lexi Salvatore fits too you know. He’s got a brother.”
“Oh I know. Stefan Salvatore is my best friend.”
“He needs a new girlfriend-wait what?”
“We’ve been best friends since a while after he turned. Didn’t Damon tell you that?”
I glared over at him, and he put a confused look on his face, which said ‘I’m innocent!’.
“No, he didn’t, but are you saying that you’ve never looked at him, and thought if we were together we’d make a hot couple?” I asked.
“Is that what you thought about Damon, while you were with Stefan?” Her tone had changed into something a little heated. I looked up at Damon, with guilty eyes, which made him shake his head at me.
“I know what I did wasn’t exactly nice, but I did love him. I just loved Damon more. I couldn’t help what my heart was telling me. I didn’t want to cause him any of the pain I have, but Damon is my soul mate. Nothing is going to change that.”
It was silent on her end for a while, but I could hear her breathing so I knew she was there. It was like a couple of minutes before she spoke again, and this time she was back to her friendly, bubbly self.
“Yes I have.”
“You have what?” I questioned, confused.
“I have looked at him, and thought that we’d make a hot couple. I’ve also looked at him and thought if we were together we’d have amazing hot sex, but that’s a thought I should’ve really kept to myself.” She said.
“So do you know where Fells Church is?” I asked.
“Actually I was already heading over, tell me the house number and I’ll be there within an hour.” I gave her Bonnie’s house number, and told her we’ll see her soon, and gave her our love and stuff. Then I turned to Damon.
“Lexi is definitely into Stefan! Now we just need to make him see her in the same way.”
“Which will be hard, because he’s so blatantly in love with you.”
“You sound upset…shall I remind you of a certain decision I made two years ago?”
“You chose me over my brother, because you love me more, I’m your soul mate, we’re together for the rest of eternity etc…But I’m still human on the inside, Elena, I still have human emotions!”
“So what you’re saying is that you’re still feeling pangs of jealousy, even when you have no cause to be jealous. Stefan, he has a right, but you, sweetie, not really.”
“You shared something, Elena, you still do. I’ve seen the way you two act around each other. Stefan would be reading a sheet of info or the newspaper, then almost instinctually you’ll sit next to him, and read it over his shoulder. It makes his day when you do that.” He replied bitterly.
We’re back at Bonnie’s house, sitting in our room. Damon is lounging around on the bed, while I was pacing the room, speaking to Lexi. I put my phone down, and I looked at him, with a mischievous smile on my face.
He glanced back at me, his face painted with confusion, which faded as I sprang across the room and pinned him down to the bed. He grinned at me, and I leaned down and pressed my lips against his. He turned the tables on me, rolling us over so he was on top. He nuzzled my neck, making me moan.
I tangled my fingers in his hair, and pulled his mouth back to mine.
Katy Perry’s song Firework sprang to mind, as his lips trailed my collarbone, my shoulder, back up my neck and then hungrily he attacked my lips again.
My shirt was pulled over my head, as was his, so when someone tapped on our window, we both jumped apart and I ducked for cover. Then I looked at the irritating person, and saw my closest vampire friend.
“You nosy, irritating woman! We were in the middle of something!” Damon groaned at her. I just laughed, looking around for my shirt.
“Hey Lexi! Why don’t you give us five minutes to calm ourselves down and I’ll let you in the front door.”
“Sure thing!” She called, disappearing from view.
“Stefan’s not in is he?” I asked Damon, pulling my shirt over my head, and tossing him his.
“Nope, he’s off eating bunnies, and Bambi in the woods.”
With a giggle, I zoomed out the room, before skipping to the door, and then leaping into Lexi’s awaiting arms.
We held on tight for ages, before letting go to take a better look at each other.
“You haven’t changed much since I last saw you.” I joke, grinning at her.
“Beauty of immortality, babe. Where is your dark knight? Taking a cold shower?”
“Nope, just preparing myself for the big reunion, Lexi.”
“Yeah, where is Stefan?” She asked, waggling her eyebrows at me, and giving me a dirty grin.
“He’s killing Bambi’s mom as we speak! You, missy, are a surprise, so get in here and stay upstairs! He’ll be back soon.” I said, grabbing her arm, and yanking her in the house, quickly. I quickly introduced her to everyone, before racing her up the stairs.
We sat crossed legged across from each other on my bed, exchanging stories from the last couple of months.
“The amount of times I’ve nearly died this week is unbelievable. Oh, and Katherine paid us a visit,” Lexi’s jaw dropped to the floor. Well not really, but it fell open with surprise.
“Yeah, she got someone to sacrifice a member of her blood family to bring her back as a vamp. She then hunted me down and tried to kill me in my own dining room.”
She snapped her fingers, and a look of realisation spread on her face.
“What?” I asked.
“I saw that the dining room table was missing, and it suddenly hit me why. What did you do to her?”
“Staked her, then the guys burnt her body out in the back yard. You know the cute blond guy with the sparkling blue eyes, goes by the name of Matt? She tried to throttle him, which got me pissed considering I’d just saved him from Loki.”
“And he’s family.” Lexi nodded her head.
The front door closed, and I grinned at Lexi, who started jumping up and down on the bed, silently squealing with excitement.
“Who’s upstairs with Elena?” Stefan’s voice asked.
“Some girl Elena met while she was gallivanting with Demon here.” Matt replied.
I heard everyone laugh, then someone probably Matt, groan with pain, causing Damon to laugh.
“Let’s go downstairs.” I mouthed at her, taking her hand, and then we tiptoed down each step avoiding the ones that creaked.
We hid round up against a wall that led into the living room, and I quickly glanced in. Stefan was sat down on the sofa, watching the T.V with the rest of the family.
I smiled and mouthed to Lexi to wait for my signal, then I walked in.
I grinned at everyone, before throwing myself down onto Damon’s lap.
“Good evening, family. Stefan, did you give our love to the squirrels?” I asked.
“Where’s your friend?”
“She’s taking a moment for herself upstairs. It’s been a long day. You know Stefan, I think you’ll really like her. She’s beautiful, intelligent, hilariously funny, bubbly and loyal. She’s perfect.”
“Sounds it too.” Stefan murmurs before muttering something I didn‘t quite catch whilst looking at me.
“I think you might know her actually.” I add, suppressing the laughter that was begging to come out.
“Oh yeah? What’s her name?”
“Well, you’ll know her when you see her. I don’t want to ruin the surprise…” I give her the signal, and she darts from around the corner, running so fast into him, that it pushes the sofa right over with all of us on it. Damon and I jump up straight away, but Stefan is kind of pinned to the floor by an overexcited Lexi.
“Lexi?” He questions. His face instantly brightened as he recognised her, and he actually grinned. A genuine grin.
“Salvatore. Long time, no see.”
