Something M'gann NEEDS To See

-My apologies to anyone who doesn't know the HSM trilogy. This gonna be weird for you...-

Wally turned back from the sink, and- where was his glass? He'd filled a glass with water literally seconds ago and put it on the table. He let out an exasperated sigh. "Ryan, where's my ocean?"

"Huh?" He turned to see M'gann watching him quizzically.

"Y'know, the extended-version scene?" She continued to look bemused. "Highschool musIcal two?"

"High school musical two?" She asked. "What's highschool musical?"

Wally gasped. "Have you never seen HSM?"

"No?" She felt a little stupid.

"Oh My God, we NEED to watch it. Hold on, I'm calling Robin!" He took out his phone and picked a contact labled 'idiot child'.

The phone dialed for a little, and eventually was answered by a tired muttering. "Wall-y? I'm busy..."

 "Hey, ROBIN!"

"Oh," the voice perked up, suddenly not sounding tired at all. "What, KF?"

"M'gann has never seen High School Musical! Come over, we gotta watch it."

"Okay," he muttered. "Gimme five." He hung up.

Wally turned back to the martian. "So here's how it's gonna go, we're going to watch the trilogy, and if we have time we're going to watch the first few episodes of the series!"

"Okay?" M'gann didn't have anything else to do, but Wally seemed REALLY intense about this. Wally started setting up the TV.

The zetabeam announced Robin's arrival, but the thing that arrived looked more like a mass of sweatpants and shirt more than anything else, sunglasses perched on his face haphazardly. He looked like he'd literally rolled out of bed, which he had. "Hey."

"Hey, are you good?" Wally asked.

"Uh huh, I-uhh, I got popcorn." He pulled a pack of microwave popcorn from his hoodie pocket.

"Score!" His friend exclaimed.

Robin put on the popcorn, and grabbed a carton of orange juice, pouring a couple glasses as Wally was babbling excitedly to M'gann. "You are going to LOVE these movies, they're totally up your ally! Classic Disney channel stuff!" He put on the movie as the other boy stumbled over and set the drinks and popcorn down.

They were just at the part where Sharpay was signing up for the lead roll when they heard someone approaching the couch. It was Artemis. "Ugh, I know someone like that." She Squeezed onto the couch.

"Sit down why don't you?" Wally scowled, making room for her.

Artemis kept talking. "This freshmen kid who thinks he runs the world casue his dad is rich or something."

Robin hid further into his hoodie. Wally turned up the volume and put on the captions to ignore her. "Uh huh."

"And he's SO creepy and annoying and shit! We have PE in the same block and I barely see him do anything, he gives the teacher a note at the beginning of class and gives some dumb excuse like: 'I twisted my ankle, and Dad says I'm not supposed to run' and they have to believe it, otherwise his daddy will sue them."

"Artemis, shut up, we're watching a movie! Why are you creeping on some freashmen kid anyways?" Wally exclaimed.

"OKAY, just saying-!" Artemis took Robin's untouched orange juice and downed it, finally shutting up.

Conner joined them during 'What I've Been Looking For', at that point the other kids, specifically M'gann, were very invested in the movie.

"Sit down." Wally said, grabbing Robin and moving to the floor to make room. Artemis didn't want to be a thirn wheel, so she also clambered down onto the shag carpet.

Robin fell asleep about four minutes after laying on the floor. He must have been tired. Wally reached over and adjusted his glasses so they covered uis eyes.

"Uh, I hate Sharpay." Artemis exclaimed.

"What!?" Wally turned to her, mouth open. "Sharpay and Ryan are GODDESSES! Troy and Gabrial think they're so great! Sharpay barely does nothing wrong, she just *sounds* condescending -like you!"

"Whoa, CHILL." Artemis replied.

Robin rolled a little, lifting his head. "Shut up, you two."

"Rob, you're not even awake, you're sleeping during the movie!" Artemis shouted, causing the younged teen to pull up his hood and press his hands over his ears.

He didn't even wake up until the end of the first movie.

"Let's put on the next one!" Artemis exclaimed.

Wally nodded. "On it!"

"Oh, I actually have homewor-" M'gann thought about it. "Never mind, put on the next one."

Robin perked up, HSM2 was his favourite. in fact, by the time they got to 'Fabulous' came on, he was in a fun, albeit pretty sleepy, lip-syncing duet with Wally.

"Have a good nap?" Artemis dug into a bowl of pretzals.

"Awesome! Your voice is great white noise; it's bland and never says anything interesting."

She smacked him.

Things chilled out for a little, until...

"Hey, it's almost the extended-version extra scene!" Wally said.

"Huh? Extended version?" Artemis asked.

"Yeah, y'know, that song... Humahum- Wally, what is it?" Robin gave up.

"Humahumanukunukuapua'a." Wally corrected him. "It's innarguably the best worst thing ever."

"What KF means, is, it's very uncomfortable to sit through, but it's kind of like being hypnotized." Robin agreed. "It's enchanting. Just like how M'gann looks tonight!"

Wally punched him. "Dude, her Boyfriend is her."

Robin shrugged. "That never stopped you. Anyways, I meant it platonically. Sorry, Ms. M."

"No big." She laughed, flattered and only vaguely uncomfortable.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drained of all energy, Wally reached out for the remote, but autoplay beat him to turning on the third movie.

"I should start on dinner..." M'gann made no indication of wanting to get up, she was cuddled snugly In the crook of Conners arm and was enamoured with the films. Kaldur had silently joined them during Wally and Robin's dramatic kareoke session of 'Everyday', and hadn't moved or said anything yet, he stared blankly at the screen; the corners of his mouth smiling everytime a song started.

"So, three?" The team leader asked.

"Then, last year, they made a tv show about some highschooler's putting on a musical production of the first movie." Wally floppped into the pile of teenagers on the floor, most of whom were half asleep.

"Is it good?" Kaldur asked.

"Uh huh." The speedster nodded absently.

'Now or never' upped the energy enough that by 'I Want it All', the three youngest teens were at half-battery again. It was the kind of tired energy, where they were very sleepy, so to compensate they acted a lot more energetic. Robin did it ALL the time.

"Maybe I should order in..." M'gann lifted a phone off the kitchen table and brought it over, it wasn't hers. Sighing, she dropped the phone on the far end of the table, and summoned her own phone and called the nearest resteraunt that did delivery.

"Why are they hooking up Ryan and Kelsey? Like... Disney?" Artemis said scornfully

"I know!" Wally agreed. "They took the gay, they took the lesbian... and they want us to believe they like each other?"

Robin shrugged. "I like to imagine they went to prom as friends."

They watched a little longer until Sharpay and Tiara appeared.

"BOO!' Wally cried, tossing a popcorn kernal.

"I thought you liked Sharpay?" Artemis asked.

"but Tiara SUCKS!" He yelled. "Sharpay doesn't do anything in this moie, it's all Tiara's idea!"

Robinlay his head on the red-head's shoulder. "Have we ever watched Sharpay's fabulous adventure?"

Wally blinked, eyes huge. "Have we ever watched WHAT?"

The three human's were kind of distracting with their bickering and chatting during the movie, but watching them sing 'Night to Remember' was adorable(Robin and Artemis sang the girl's part, Wally sang the boy's). Suddenly, M'gann felt a vibrating at her feet: the other phone. "Who.s phone is this?" She asked, as soon as the song ended.

"Huh? Oh, that's Robs." Wally answered, urging his friend to stand up and get it.

"You've got some messages..."

As he took the phine, it began ringing again, this time more audible. 'YOU ARE MY DAAD  You're my dad-'

He answered hastily. "Yea? I'm at the Mountain... but we're watching something! NO, No, you don't have to come get me." He hissed. "Okay, I'll be back in a few. Rive maybe? Okay, bye." He hung up. "Sorry, guys, dinner." He explained sheepishly. "I'll be in trouble if I'm any later. I'll ask if I can come over after...?"

"I should probably go home for dinner too." Wally checked the time.

"Same."

"Thanks for singing 'I Don't Dance' whith me, Rob" the red head gave him a side-hug goodbye.

"Kaldur, do you wanna stay? Food should be here any minute." M'gann sighed, not wanting to stop watching. "We'll finish this another time..."

And that is how Black Canary walked into mt. Justice at five am to find six teenagers glued to the tv screen, belting high school musical.
