Proluge
A boy opens the door, peeking inside the house. He sighs in relief when he hears and sees nothing. Tiptoeing silently, he crosses the room without making any noise. If he's lucky, his dad won't be home-
Too late. The door swings open and hits the wall, causing the boy to jump in surprise. A bigger and plumper version of the boy stands at the doorway, booze in hand and swaying a little uncontrollably.
The boy makes a start for the stairs, knowing if he can just make it to his room and lock the door, he won't have to deal with his drunk father. "Get back here you little brat!" He runs faster at the sound of the man's yell and heavy footsteps chasing him.
He makes it to the top of the stairs, but it's not over yet. He still has to get to his room. Which is at the end of the corridor. He sprints as fast as he can, which to be honest, isn't really that fast at all. But you can't expect too much from a seven year old.
Just as his hand reaches the doorknob, the man grabs his leg and he yelps as he feels himself being pulled back. He shrieks as the father lets out all his anger on him, trying to defend himself against the brute's blows, but it's not enough. The bottle shatters against the boy's arm easily.
Tears leak from the emerald green eyes as blood as red as the boy's hair splatters on the ground. The same question repeating through his mind "Why was I left alone with this monster?"

Wally woke up screaming. The door opened and his uncle Barry walked in, by his side comforting him in a flash. "Wally, calm down. It was just a dream,"
Sobs racked his body as he shook, sweat lining his forehead, pillow and bedsheet. The same nightmare had been coming back to him again and again since he was given the fear serum by the Injustice league.
"Did you have the same nightmare again?" Uncle Barry asked Wally softly. Wally nodded, trying but failing to calm down. It always seemed so real. He knew that it was all in the past, and that he no longer needed to worry about that...man abusing him again, but it was just too much for him to handle.
"I...I don't understand why this keeps happening," Wally said in between sobs. Uncle Barry hugged him tightly, muttering calming words to soothe his nephew.
Wally thought nightmares were the worst of his problems. How wrong he was.
