"...there's something wrong with those seven..." Blue Beetle said, tapping his foot impatiently as he and Supergirl stood watching the vault that contained the Sinothium.

"Look, if it's because of what Protex called me, it's over. I never fell for him." Supergirl said, "besides, no one can compare to you."

"Thanks..." Blue Beetle smiled, "but...not even just him... Züm and Primaid and the rest of them already seem suspicious..."

"It's okay. We can trust any friend of M'gann's, right?" Supergirl smiled, "I mean, we can definitely trust Till... He's so helpful."

"Yeah, he is." Blue Beetle agreed as he took Supergirl's hand.

"We can get through this, right? We'll make it back to Earth before you know it." Supergirl said.

"Yeah, I really hope so." Blue Beetle agreed as he rested his head on her shoulder.

>> You are wasting too much time with this Kara Kent. You should be focusing on more important matters. << Scarab said.

"Love isn't a waste of time..." Blue Beetle protested.

"What?" Supergirl asked.

"Wha?! Ah, I mean..."

"Look, you've been talking to yourself a lot lately... Can't you just tell me what's up? There's no point wiggling around it this time." Supergirl crossed her arms.

"Okay...fine. It's my scarab." Blue Beetle sighed.

"Your what?" Supergirl asked.

Blue Beetle retracted his armor and turned around, showing Supergirl the scarab on his back.

"This thing attached to my back that gives me the powers and armor." Jaime explained.

"Whoa..." Supergirl looked closely at the scarab and poked it a few times, "so it, like, talks to you?"

"Yeah. It advises me and helps me sometimes." Jaime shrugged as he put his armor back on.

"Most days, I wish I had something like that...." Supergirl laughed.

"He can get annoying sometimes, though..." Blue Beetle added, "so don't be alarmed if I keep 'talking to myself'..."

"Don't worry. It'll grow on me." Supergirl smiled.

"So those were your friends?" Nightwing asked.

"Yeah, but I guess they changed some..." Miss Martian shrugged, "They used to be so friendly."

"Well, maybe they did manage to get savage." Nightwing shrugged, "I mean, if you had stayed on Mars and never came to earth, how would your life, or even ours, be any different?"

"I'd probably be savage and insane, and I'd probably just end up in the Still Zone." Miss Martian replied, "which is why I'm so thankful every day that I'm on earth. I never thought my friends would ever change, though..."

"Yeah. For now, as long as you trust them, we trust them." Nightwing nodded, and she nodded in response.

"Hey guys, anyone see anything yet?" Oracle asked over the comm.

"No. This is weird..." Nightwing responded, "Pairs, report."

"Nothing odd going on here." Superboy said.

"Everyone's fine over here." Robin said.

"No one's come through here yet." Blue Beetle said.

"And nothing out here either..." Miss Martian said, "Shouldn't he be here by now? It's almost been an hour."

"Yeah, well, I'm not so sure either." Nightwing said and rubbed his forehead, then a thought hit him, "Wait...Blue, Supergirl, check the vault. Is the Sinothium even still in there?"

"What do you mean?! No one's come through here yet. It should still be there." Blue Beetle said.

"Check it. Now. That's an order." Nightwing repeated. Blue Beetle looked at Supergirl, sighed, and opened the vault, and the sight made them gasp.

"Well?" Jet asked.

"Oh my gosh..." Supergirl whispered.

"Guys?!" Superboy called.

"It's gone!!" Blue Beetle responded.

"Damn it..." Nightwing muttered, "Okay, everyone, out. We need to find Red X. He's still here. He couldn't have gone far. Jet and Robin, stay at your posts unless evacuation is absolutely necessary."

"We have eyes on him!" Impulse said.

"Good! And watch him! We're gonna come find you guys!" Nightwing said, "Blue, Supergirl, you two get out and help."

"How did he get past us?!" Supergirl asked.

"He has that ability to vanish and teleport himself to different places within a certain range without anyone seeing him. That's one of the powers the Sinothium gives him." Nightwing explained as he and M'gann ran to where the Bioship was. Once they got there, they saw their enemy hovering over-head with a sack full of tubes of Sinothium.

"Red X! Hand over the Sinothium. Now!" Nightwing ordered.

"I'm a villain. How do you think I'm going to respond to that?" Red X asked, crossing his arms.

"The white Martians depend on this element for survival if any war were to come up at al!" Supergirl yelled as she and Blue Beetle ran in.

"And why should I care?" Red X asked.

"Just hand it over, and we won't make this harder than it needs to be." Nightwing said.

"Uh, how about no?" Red X sneered as he threw down one of his tubes of Sinothium. As soon as it shattered on the ground, the red chemical spread around the entire area within at least more than five miles' radius as smoke. As soon as it cleared, Red X was gone along with all the Sinothium.

"No..." Miss Martian said.

"Mission...accomplished?" Oracle asked.

"....No." Nightwing said, "Robin, Jet, come on back. We're headed back to Earth."

"What happened?! He got away?!" Robin asked.

"Yeah." Nightwing said, "we'll talk about our next moves when we get back to the cave. Aqualad says he might have an idea of what to do next."

"Sweet..." Jet said as he and Robin headed back.

"So, I was doing some research while you were out, and I had the thought that maybe there's a Red X in the era of the Teen Titans." Aqualad suggested.

"You mean, you think that Red X is from thee era the Teen Titans are from?" Nightwing asked.

"Yes. It could be possible, but it would not hurt to go over and check, would it?" Aqualad asked.

"That sounds like it could work." Impulse shrugged, "hey! You guys can use the time machine I built!"

"So now you've been catching up on that stuff?" Kid Flash asked.

"Of course! I've been meaning to go back and visit the future, see how things have been working there." Impulse said, "and since there isn't anyone who knew how to do that, then I was determined to figure that out on my own."

"Pretty crash, kid." Kid Flash chuckled as he gave Impulse a fist-bump.

"So we will go see the Teen Titans as soon as possible." Aqualad said, and Nightwing nodded.

"Good. Aqualad and I will go. We'll talk to Robin and see what he knows about Red X." Nightwing said.

"Whoa, whoa, just the two of you?! Are you sure? What if you encounter him there? Will you stand a chance?" Kid Flash asked. 

"We'll be fine, Walls. Don't worry. Just take care of the rest of the team back here." Nightwing said.

"Don't worry about us, then! We'll be good!" Impulse said.

"Oh yeah... One can only hope..." Kid Flash groaned and shook his head, "don't leave me here with him! I've already got Alacrity to keep an eye on! And trust me, it's not as easy as it might seem."

"Oh, did you say Alacrity?" Impulse asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"You will be fine." Aqualad smiled, "I am certain Impulse will be very preoccupied with Alacrity, and vice versa."

"Yeah, you might be right." Kid Flash shrugged, "but combining the two could be an equation for disaster..."

"Okay, don't worry. You've got the League too, you know! And the rest of the team, may I remind you!" Nightwing added. 

"Yeah. Okay. Go ahead. I think I'll manage about an hour or two without ripping my hair out." Kid Flash chuckled.

"Okay. See you then." Nightwing waved back to him as he and Aqualad walked out of the room, "Impulse, think you can show us where the time machine is?"

"Yep." Impulse said and ran off before them to lead the way.
