You stay on the warm sand, watching the others run around in the shallow water, splashing each other as if they were children, Kaldur having the advantage and using his water bearers.

"Hey (Y/N) come on in!" Rob called from the water a wide smile upon his face.

You wanted to join in, but you knew for multiple reasons that you couldn't. "No, it's fine, I don't really feel up to a swim."

"Oh come on! It's too hot up there!" Wally called out from the water, his ginger hair covering his green eyes.

"I'm in the shade, it's not that hot." You said crossing your legs as you lent back.

"But it would be cooler of you were in the water." Rob smirked.

"I said I'm fi- AHHHH," You shouted in shock as You were lifted up over someone's shoulders from your comfortable spot. You turned around to catch a head full of wet black hair in your face. "Put me down Connor!" You screamed as you hit him on the back, the cold water seeping through your clothes.

"Sorry, no can do." He replied, you could hear the smirk in his voice.

"Put me down!" You screamed again, hitting him harder, but your hits were futile against the Kryptonian.

Soon enough you felt a rush of air distance you from the body that was carrying you, but before you could register the relief you felt a burst of cold water surround you as you fell into the shallow ocean.

You emerged into the blinding sun, spluttering from the water that had filled your lungs. You stood up and were prepared to give your revenge on the team but stopped as you noticed their shocked expressions while looking at you.

You slightly amused and slightly angered expression changed to one of confusion as you looked down to see what they were looking at. Then fear as you realised that your short had become see-through through the contact with water, and the saw you as though you were only in bikinis. Well along with your skin having a tinge of (F/C).

You begun bolting to the sand, tripping over the currents of water in the process. The team cried out behind you but thankfully they couldn't catch up as Wally appeared too shocked to be able to chase after you.

You grabbed your bag and towel from the ground before running into the bush behind the beach disappearing into the thick foliage.

You don't know how long you had been in the bush, you don't even know at what point you fell asleep against the stump of a broken tree. You do however remember being shaken lightly awake by a tall blond with a warm yet saddened smile, the full moon behind him and the torch in his hands being the only light source.

"Kaldur, what are you doing here?" You asked as you jumped up from the ground away from him.

"We were all searching for you, I just notified the others over the telepathic link that I have found you."

"No... You're all gonna hate me now, you're gonna judge me all the time. I can't go back, I can't even be a hero like this." You said looking at your scared arms showing through the ripped sleeves of your shirt.

"Of course we will care, we will not leave you, we will only try to help. Please (Y/N) come back with me to the mountain, the others are worried about you, much as I still am." He brought his hand out in front of him, bringing it closer to you, but you pulled away, gripping your hands to your chest.

"I- I can't, you say that now, but soon enough you'll change. You all will. You won't accept me anymore." You said as the tears begun to fall from your eyes. "You'll gain my trust." You hiccuped as the tears became more prominent, "but then you'll begin to distance yourself." Your legs begun to give way and you toppled over, but you were caught by Kaldur, "then you'll just leave me to get even worse... Just like everyone else."

"We're not like everyone else." Kaldur said wrapping his arms around you. "And we will never leave you." He said lifting you off the ground and carrying you to the mountain.

Yes you will.
They always do.
