Zee's Pov:
School was starting up again today so I woke up earlier than usual. The sun was just starting to peak over the horizon as I walked to the washroom. Dick and I did rock climbing yesterday so my body ached everywhere. The water was warm against my skin as I stepped into the shower. My body still ached but I wasn't as stiff as before. When I got out I dried myself and walked to my room to get changed.

I slipped on a pair of ripped black jeans and a yellow tank top. A pair of black flats and a white bow around my neck finished off the outfit. My phone began buzzing as I answered whilst brushing my teeth. "Hello?" I said hearing music in the background. "Yeah I'm outside waiting" Dick chimed as I rolled my eyes. Spitting into the sink I hung up and ran down the stairs. Grabbing my back I ran out the door and down the stairs. "Zatanna where are you going?" My dad asked as I ran through the store. "Breakfast with Dick!" I yelled running out the door and jumping into the sports car parked next to the sidewalk.

"Five minutes a new record" he said with a smirk as I took deep breaths. "We're getting new students apparently" he said as I raised an eyebrow. We went to an IHop for breakfast before heading to school. Immediately I noticed something was off. Megan walked over with a red headed boy next to her. He looked to be in his first year of Highschool easy. "Guys this is Garfield he's my adoptive brother" she said as he nervously waved hello to us. "Awe he's adorable!" A said in a high pitched voice.

Someone laughed behind me as I turned around. "Mouse alert everyone but be careful she might have rabies" a red headed girl said. I've never seen her before in my life but I instantly felt hurt. "Dickie is that you?" The girl asked as he turned around surprised. "Barbara?" He said; so this slut has a name. The bell rang for class and I kissed his cheek before walking away. While on my way to class I saw this other red headed tall girl looking quite confused. "Do you need help?" I asked as she looked down at me with emerald eyes.

She looked like she could be one of Victoria's Angels with how pretty she was. "Oh yes that would be most appreciated" she said with a cheery smile. Looking at her schedule her and I had first and third period together. "We have homeroom together come on" I said as she nodded with a warm smile. "What's your name?" I asked as we walked through the crowded hallways. "Kori Anders! Guys look the slut is back from space!" Barbara yelled from down the hall.

This Barbara girl needs to be put in her place. "Leave her alone!" I yelled as the girl who I now know as Kori gave me a hopeful look. "Oh look the mouse has decided to squeak" she commented dryly. I bit my tongue so I wouldn't retaliate back at her. "We should go to class" I said as Kori nodded and followed me down the hallway and into the classroom. "You can join friend Raven and I in the back" she said as I looked at the back to see a pale girl sitting in the corner. Kori and I took a seat at the desk in front of the pale girl.

"Oh friend Raven it is most joyous to see you!" Kori said happily. "Who are you?" The girl now known as Raven asked me. "Oh I'm Zatanna. Zatanna Zatara" I said proudly as she raised an eyebrow. "Isn't your father that famous magician?" She asked as I nodded before the teacher walked in. "My name is Ms. Quinnzel and this is Health 101. If you look around you'll see some new faces so when I call your name please stand up and introduce yourself to the class. Oh and say something interesting about yourself too!" She added in a perky voice.

     Ms. Quinnzel had blonde hair in pigtails, glasses, white lab coat, black heels and she was quite tall. "Barbara Gordon" she said as Kori shrunk down in her chair. "My name is Barbara and my Dad is the Commissioner" she said before shooting Kori, Raven and I a sharp glare. "Cassandra Sandsmark" Ms. Quinnzel called out as a blonde girl stood up as her binder fell off her desk. She had on a long sleeved red shirt with a gold 'W' across the chest, blue jeans with a gold 'W' belt, star earrings and a pair of black flats.

     I felt bad because she looked really nervous. "I'm uh Cassandra but you can call me Cassie. I'm working towards being in this years bodybuilding competition" she said fumbling around with her fingers. "Man hands" Barbara snorted as everyone began laughing. "May I be excused Ms. Quinnzel?" She asked in a shaky voice as she nodded. Shoving her binder into her bag she slung it over her shoulder and quickly walked out of class. I stood up and the whole class looked at me.

     "Ah Ms. Zatara is there anything that you would like to say?" She asked as I grabbed my bag. "I'm excusing myself" I said as I winked at Kori and left class. I could see that Cassandra girl walking down the empty hall wiping her face with her hands. "Are you okay?" I asked slowing my pace so I walked alongside her. Her cheeks were tear stained and I felt bad. "Don't worry about her she's new and a nuisance. She already called me a mouse" I said as Cassandra nodded. "Oh I'm Zatanna by the way" I said as she nodded with a small smile.

     We walked around the school and I learned some pretty cool things about her. Cassie is attending school for the first time ever since she's been homeschooled all her life. "All of the grades are mixed together in classes so we can get to know our peers better" I said as she nodded. The bell for second period rang and I looked at my schedule. "What do you have next?" She asked curiously. "Gym, you?" I asked as her aqua blue eyes lit up. "I have gym too! I mean I have gym too" said lowering her voice. It was weird because her and I were the same age except different grades.

     I mean Dick and I met in our advanced classes because we both skipped a year. I just feel older for some reason. "I'll show you to the gym" I said as she nodded following me down the stairs. "So I heard that this school used to have uniforms" she said as we walked into the changeroom. "Yeah but not a lot of people followed it so they just gave up on enforcing the rule" I said as Artemis and Megan walked into the changeroom. "Zatanna!" Artemis said hugging me. Her arm still had a cast on it so it was a little awkward.

     Cassie went quiet and quickly got changed. "Oh this is Cassie. Cassie these are my best friends Megan and Artemis" I said as they smiled and waved at her. "Hi" she said nervously as we all got changed and went out into the gym. Luckily that girl Barbara wasn't in our gym class. I saw that girl Raven that I met earlier sitting on the bleachers reading a book. "So did you hear about all the exchange students that transferred here from Jump City?" Megan asked us in a low whisper.

     "That explains all the new faces" Artemis said as Cassie stood there quietly. The teacher wasn't here yet so we had time to talk. "Yeah I know their names too. Kori Anders, Raven Roth, Timothy Drake and this guy named Garth but I don't know his last name" Megan said as we nodded. The teacher finally showed up and sent Artemis to the bleachers. I saw that she was chatting up a storm with Raven. "You know that girls in ninth grade right?" Megan whispered to us while we did push ups.

     Raven acted more mature then some of the twelfth grades in this school. "She is?" Cassie piped up finally after being quiet for so long. "Yeah Kori is fifteen and Raven is fourteen" I said as they raised an eyebrow. "I walked Kori to class and she talked about Raven" I said as they nodded in understandment. Class eventually ended and it was time for lunch. "Wanna sit with us at lunch?" I asked Cassie as she looked down at her feet nodding.

     The cafeteria was full and we sat at a table in the corner. "Oh look what the cat dragged in" Barbara said walking over to our table. The guys were getting their food so it was just Megan, Artemis, Cassie, Roquette and I. "I suggest you leave them alone" a dry voice said from behind her. Barbara huffed and walked away with her heels clicking against the floor. Kori stood next to Raven as I gave them a friendly smile. "Do you mind if we sit with you friend Zatanna?" Kori asked as I nodded.

     The boys came back and a couple new guys came with them that I didn't know. Of course Linda was still here and hanging off of Wally. I still don't know why Wally hasn't dumped her yet. "Hey Zee" Dick said kissing my cheek before sitting down next to me. "This is Timothy, Garth and Garfield" he said introducing the three boys. I knew Garfield from this morning so I waved hello to him. It was weird how much him and Megan looked alike without them being physically related.

     I looked over to see Cassie staring at Conner and that new guy Timothy. "Oh and please just call me Tim" Tim said as Dick snorted. "Don't get all technical now Alfie will freak" he said as Tim stuck his tongue out at Dick. Everyone including myself were very confused. "We're family friends" they both said at the same time. Lunch was interesting to say the least because everyone was laughing and having fun. When the bell rang I kissed Dick goodbye and began walking to English with Kori.

     "So where are you from?" I asked because she didn't speak English that well. "A small island named Tameran" she said as I furrowed my brows but nodded. Class was so boring until the teacher gave us a project. "Would you like to be my partner friend Zatanna?" Kori asked as I nodded seeing nobody else wanted to be my partner. We had to create a presentation on our partners family history, personality, description, etc. "We can do the visiting of my house after this day of school?" She asked as I nodded with a small smile.

     Last period was History with Artemis and she was venting about how much of a bitch Linda was. "How's your arm?" I asked as she looked at the cast. We all signed our names on it in different colours so it looked like a rainbow barfed on it. "Good. I'm getting it off next week" she said as I smirked. "You can drive again then" I said as she nodded leaning back in her chair. "What's up with that new girl Barbara? She seems to have it out for us and the new girls" she said as I nodded.

     "I know and I don't even know what I did!" I complained before the bell rang. We said our goodbyes as I walked to my locker. "Hey Zee" Dick said kissing me quickly as I put my binders away. "Hey can you be a good boyfriend and drive Kori and I to her house to work on a project?" I asked batting my eyes up at him. Leaning down he whispered as I felt his breath brush against my lips. "Only if you go to dinner with me tonight" he whispered as I narrowed my eyes.

     "Sure but what's the occasion?" I asked because I knew there was a catch somehow. "Wally wants to go on a double date" he said as I growled and crossed my arms. "You know I don't like Linda!" I whisper yelled at him as we walked towards Kori's locker. "No drive then" he said as I sighed. "Fine but I won't enjoy it!" I growled as he put his arm around me. "That's my Zee" he said as Kori shut her locker. "Oh hello friend Zatanna!" She said in a cheery voice. "Hey so Dick is going to drive us to your house okay?" I said as she glanced at him before nodding.

     "O of the k" she said as I giggled. Besides her horrible English she was a pretty cool girl to hang with. "I am most excited to do the working on this project with you!" She exclaimed as we got into Dick's car. "So Kori where are you from?" He asked curiously. "I am from an island named Tameran" she said confidently. "Really I've actually been there before with Bruce. Its a really beautiful place" he said as she nodded eagerly. The drive wasn't that long and she lived really close to Megan surprisingly.

     "Bye I'll pick you up later" he said with a wink as we got out. We walked up to the house as Kori let me in. It was really loud and immediately yelling rang in my ears. "Kori what the hell did you do with my makeup!" A feminine voice yelled as Kori sighed. "I apologize for the rudeness of my sister Komi" she said as I nodded. We walked up the stairs into a large room with two beds. Oddly Raven was sitting on one of them reading a book. "Hello friend Raven!" She said as Raven glanced over at us.

     Sitting on Kori's bed she took out the sheet as we began asking each other questions.
