He woke up and stretched, exhausted from the training he did last night. The teen trained for a couple hours in the gym before going to bed every night. He took a quick shower and changed into his school uniform before sliding down the railing of the stairs. "Master Dick I do advise that you shouldn't do that it's dangerous and reckless" Alfred scolded him as Je rolled my eyes.

Quickly he scarfed down a bowl of cereal and a glass of milk before picking up Wally for school. "Hey dude! How did the study date go last night?" he teased with a playful smile. Wally pulled his shirt up and the teen laughed to see the giant purple bruise on his back. "She flipped me and then left" Wally said as they arrived at the school.

Wally and Dick headed their separate ways as he happily headed to his mathematics classroom. Dick was early because he knew Zatanna came early. Walking into the quiet classroom to see the ocean eyed beauty smile up at him. He took his seat next to her trying to hide his reddened cheeks. "What's up Boy Wonder?" She asked twirling her jet black hair around her finger.

He took a deep breath. Swallowing the nervous lump in his throat "Nothing much. Anyways would you like to eat lunch again today?" he asked nervously looking down.

"Sure I'd love to! Can my friend Megan come also?" She asked flashing a pearly white smile.

Dick nodded staring at her as she giggled. "So how have you been?" he asked nonchalantly, more like chalantly.

"My dad had been so restricting lately. It feels like I'm arguing with a brick wall!" She said covering her blue eyes with her pale hands.

Her complexion was pale as snow complimented by her long wavy jet black hair and ocean blue eyes. "I know the feeling, Bruce can be like that sometimes" he said as she nodded.

     The bell rang as class began. It was boring except for the fact that Zatanna kept leaning on him and asking him to help her most of the time. The teen was a little bummed when mathematics ended because he had to part ways with the beauty. His eyes kept glancing to the clock until it rang at the end of his next class.

Bolting out of the classroom and down to the Cafertorium to meet the mathematics beauty. He saw her holding her purple and black lunch bag standing next to a taller red headed girl. "Hello I'm Megan Morse you must be Richard. Zee's told me a lot about you" she said smiling as he blushed a bright shade of red.

Zatanna elbowed the girl blushing as they walked to the table Wally was sitting at. He was smirking to himself as his attention was drawn towards the other end of the Cafertorium. "Hey Wally!" Megan said happily as she took a seat next to him. He smiled and said hello as they began their own conversation.

Dick stared at Zatanna as she sipped on her water bottle filled with fresh raspberries and lemons. "So what are you doing tonight?" he asked nervously as he fiddled with his water bottle.

"Nothing just nothing" she said sighing.

Her eyes were filled with hope as she stared at him. "Well I was um wondering if y-you would like to you know see a movie or something tonight if that's cool because Wally's busy and a tuff so-" he stumbled over his own words.

"I'd love to see a movie tonight. Here's my address pick me up at eight sharp" she said with a flirtatious wink.

He didn't realize that lunch was over as he watched her stand up and walk away with Megan. He put her address safe in his pocket and scurried away to his next class. Dick had Economics which was super boring. He sat next to this cool guy named Kaldur. He was sort of a hippie and a nature activist and stuff.

He walked over to the desk. "Hello my friend" Kaldur said smiling as he sat down. He was older than him by far but he took advanced classes since he was really smart. "Hey" he said taking out his binder and pencil case. He was thinking of Zatanna and the date they were going on tonight.

'Okay it wasn't really a date but a guy can dream right?' he thought to himself.

Kaldur chuckled lightly. "My friend you look love struck" Kaldur said as he shook his head snapping back into reality. He opened his mouth to speak. "Oh sorry I was just thinking about what I'm doing tonight" he said scratching the back of his head.

"So I see you're going out with a lady friend tonight am I right?" Kaldur asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yes I am..." he mumbled blushing like crazy.

"I know what that feels like my friend" Kaldur then said smiling to himself.

Dick raised an eyebrow as if to signal for him to continue. "I fell in love with this girl named Tula in the Town I used to live in. When I went back to visit I found out that she got together with my best friend Garth. Sadly though last year she died in a tragic boating accident" he said frowning. The young teen patted his back to try and comfort him before he thanked him.

Something suddenly hit him in the back of the head. Glancing down to the floor to see a scrunched up piece of paper. He looked behind him to see Roy Harper smirking. "So I heard you are going on a date. With who?" He wrote making him blush.

Dick shook his head to him as he turned around shoving the note into his binder. It was hard to focus for the rest of the day as he anxiously waited for class to end so he could go home and get ready for tonight.

Ring! Ring!

She hurried out of her last class and ran home. Her father and herself lived in a small apartment over top of a magic shop. Her father owned it. He said someday that she'll get to own it which she honestly didn't mind. Zatanna loved magic it was just so fascinating to her. On the way home she ran into that girl Artemis that everyone kept talking about.

Accidentally she knocked her over which made the girls blood run cold. "I am so sorry here let me help you up" she said quickly picking up her stuff.

"I don't need your help!" the blonde hissed grabbing her stuff.

"Here! A present to show you how sorry I am!" she said doing a magic trick.

A bouquet of flowers appeared as she handed them to her. "Take them" she said looking away holding the flowers out. She could feel her body go cold and hands begin to shake. "A magician huh? Why were you running so fast?" Artemis asked whilst snatching the flowers.

"I have a date. Well it's not really a date but I'd like to think of it as one" she said gulping.

Artemis raised an eyebrow and smirked. "What's your name kid?" She asked crossing her arms.

"Z-Zatanna Zatara" the girl stuttered out.

"Well then Zatanna because I'm feeling a little generous I'll make sure nobody bothers you on this date" Artemis said before walking away.

Zatanna stood there, a blank look on her face until she saw that red head that's friends with Dick run past her. "Arty I mean Artemis wait up!" He yelled running towards the angered blonde. She walked away before she could witness something that she didn't quite want to see. Zatanna ran the rest of the way home and collapsed onto the couch. It was four o'clock which meant she had four hours until he picked her up.

Zatanna changed into her magicians costume and went downstairs into the shop. "Dad! Can I go to the movies tonight?" she asked walking up to the cash register.

"Depends Zatanna, why do you want to go?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"This boy in my class. We were paired together for a project so we have to uh see this movie and write notes about it" she said.

'Yeah that will work' she thought to herself. 

"No" he said flatly.

'Dammit!'

"I have proof! Let me get my phone and I'll let you talk to Megan. She's in my class too" she said before running up the stairs.

Grabbing her cellphone she dialed Megan's number hoping she would pick up. "Hello?" she heard from the other end of the phone line. A relieved sigh escaped her lips. "Aren't you supposed to be on your date?" Megan asked, you could hear the smirk in her voice. "Quick favour. My dad is going to talk to you so tell him that I'm working on a project based on a movie I need to see with Richard. K, thanks!" and with that she ran down the stairs and handed the phone to her father.

Zatanna stood there biting her lip as she watched her father listen and pace back and forth. He hung up the phone and nodded as she let out a squeal. Immediately she took her phone and ran up the stairs jumping in the shower. She felt like that comic book character The Flash because she ran so fast.

When she stepped out she stared at her slightly reddened skin from the hot water. Checking her phone she saw that it was seven thirty. The red went away when her blue eyes met the horrifying time. Quickly she ran to her bedroom and started picking out clothes. "Damn I wish I had a spell or something so I could get changed instantly" she muttered with a long sigh.

Finally she decided on black shorts with fish net stockings, white button up blouse, black blazer and a yellow ribbon tied around my neck. The timing couldn't be any better because she zipped up the black knee high boots when her father yelled. "Zatanna that boy is here!" her father yelled from the shop below.

A wide grin spread across her face as she ran down the stairs. She saw Richard blush to himself making her face heat up. "Bye dad" she said kissing her fathers cheek before leaving with Richard.

"So Boy Wonder what movie are we seeing?" she asked curiously.

"We can decide when we get there" he said smiling back to her.

The movie theater was around the block so they could easily walk there. She took the time to slip her hand down and hold his hand. Zatanna noticed that his hands were very rough. "You look nice by the way" he said blushing.

"Awe thanks Richard" she chirped.

"You can call me Dick. Everyone does" he said as she smiled and nodded.

They arrived at the theater a couple minutes later. They looked up at the list of movies playing. "Oh can we see that one?" she asked batting her dark eyelashes at him.

"Sure" he said with a sly smile.

It was really weird because they didn't have to pay for anything and all of the cashiers looked scared for no reason. An hour past and the movie ended. It was only nine thirty and she didn't have to really be home until ten thirty. "Can we go get some ice cream or something?" she asked as they walked hand in hand down the sidewalk.

"Yeah, how about here?" He asked pointing to a cute pink and white ice cream parlor.

"Hello what can I get you kids today?" The jolly old man asked.

They quickly glanced at the menu. The old man silently awaiting their order. "Can I get a double chocolate chunk in a cone?" they both asked at the same time. The old man smiled as they both looked at each other blushing. "How about I give these to you on the house?" The old man said handing them their ice creams smiling.

Zatanna cut in. Guilt building up inside of her. "No really we can pay" sje said trying to fish out her wallet. The old man put his hand up and shook his head. "No, just seeing a happy couple is enough pay for me" he said smiling.

"Thank you sir" Dick said as he grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the parlor.

They licked their ice creams while walking hand in hand. His phone started buzzing so he let go of her hand taking his phone out of his back pocket. Her hand felt cold when he let go which gave her the shivers. Dick spoke for a moment in a language she didn't understand before sighing and hanging up. "I need to go. Bruce is taking me to the police department to look into some things" he said frowning.

"Walk me home?" she asked raising an eyebrow.

His crystal blue eyes lit up as he nodded taking her hand in his once again. "Isn't Bruce Wayne the owner of Wayne Enterprises and like the most famous detective in the world?" she asked smirking to herself.

"Yes he is Zatanna. You're very smart" he said as they arrived in front of the magic shop.

It was closed but she knew her father was probably sitting on the couch waiting for her to come home. A limo pulled up waiting for Dick. A frown appeared on her face. "This was fun. We should do it again sometime" he said nervously scratching the back of his head. Before he could walk away she quickly gave him a kiss on his already reddened cheek.

A light laugh escaped her lips to see him so flustered. "Bye Boy Wonder" she said with a wink before unlocking the store and stepping inside. Zatanna had already finished her ice cream which erased any evidence that she went out for more than a movie. "Dad I'm back!" she yelled loudly, voice echoing throughout the apartment.

It was only ten o'clock so she was back thirty minutes earlier than she needed to be. "Yay! Now we can have some daddy and daughter bonding!" He yelled from the living room. Zatanna smiled to herself as she ran to her bedoom to change into some pajamas. She walked out in a plain black T-shirt and yellow pajama pants with white bunny slippers. Zatanna was currently thirteen going on fourteen.

Walking into the living room she sat next to her father on the couch as he put her favourite movie on. The girl absolutely adored the movie Tangled because she was a magical princess that could heal people by singing a song. Zatanna ended up falling asleep half way through the movie on her father's shoulder. She had a dream about herself as Rapunzel as Dick came to save her from the Tower.

The dream got interrupted when her alarm clock went off signaling the start of another day. Sometimes she wished that she could stay in Her dreams forever.
