The girl was still shaken about the fact that her father killed Lilliana and attempted to kill her as well. It really offset her appetite at the moment so she sat on the couch with her knees pulled to her chest. "Hey listen it's going to be okay, besides if he wants to kill you he'll have me to deal with first" Zatanna said sitting next to her while eating a sandwhich.

Zatanna's head was ringing with many questions but she didn't want to pry at Artemis. "Wanna watch a movie?" She asked the quiet blonde.

"I don't want to die, not like my mother and Lilliana. They died protecting me and their sacrifice would of went to waste if I just gave up" the girl thought to herself.

"Wanna watch a movie?" Zatanna repeated still staring at her.

Artemis nodded placing her head on her knees while staring at the television screen. She didn't want to speak, she was still too shaken by what happened.

"Wally and I almost kissed but it was probably a heat of the moment thing because there's no way he'd date a girl like me" she thought.

It only made her feel worse. About an hour later Zee's father came back and patted gently her back. "You'll stay with Oliver Queen but since he's on a business meeting you'll spend your time at the Wayne's house where you'll be safe" he said with a small smile. The girl nodded and then stood up motioning for Zee to follow. "We're going to bed, I'll see you tomorrow" Zee said kissing her fathers cheek before they went into her room.

Zatanna let out a long sigh as soon as the bedroom door closed. "Artemis are you okay?" She asked sitting on her bed.

"I'm fine" the blonde mumbled as she laid down on her bed.

"I'm always here to talk to you know" she said before laying at the opposite end of the bed and falling asleep.

Artemis stared at the window out of fear that her father would find her here. Eventually she exhausted herself to the point from staying awake so long. In the end she fell asleep. She had horrible nightmares throughout the night of her running through that dreaded forest as she was being hunted down. "Artemis wake up" a voice said shaking her shoulders. Her grey eyes shot open as she saw Zee sigh in relief.

The dark haired girl let her go. She was relieved that she was awake now. "Dick, Wally, Conner and Kaldur are here to escort you" Zatanna said passing Artemis her school bag. They walked out of her bedroom to see the guys standing there looking quite paranoid. "Thanks Zee, for everything" Artemis whispered as they hugged.

"No problem. Oh and boys make sure she's safe" she said sounding like her mother.

"Here Arty" Wally said placing his jacket around Artemis' shoulders.

She was too tired and scared to care at the moment to yell at him. They made sure to be on all sides of her so if someone was to attack she'd be protected. The girl had the dagger concealed in her boot so if somebody did attack she would be prepared. "Artemis it's okay" Wally whispered as he put his arm around her. Artemis was terrified beyond belief because if her father wanted someone dead he'd do everything in his power to make sure they're dead.

They approached a couple of black cars as they all got into separate ones. Dick and Wally sat on either side of her in the one they entered. "Stay traught" Dick said as she scowled.

"If I may, it's the opposite of distraught" he said smirking.

Her heart was beating through her ears as the car began to move. She couldn't help but bury her face into Wally's arm to try and calm herself down. The car stopped at the Manor as they all got out. Bodyguards were there to escort them inside and make sure that they were safe. "Bruce we're back!" Dick yelled once stepping foot into the gigantic house.

"Do you have an area where I can punch the crap out of something?" she asked looking around the large living room.

"Yeah Wally knows where it is" Dick said plopping down onto the couch.

Wally silently led her to the gym, it was decked out with various equipment. She was walking towards a punching bag until she took notice to a bow and quiver. Immediately she ran over to it and held it in her hands. "You can leave if you want because I know this stuff is boring" she said nocking an arrow into the steel bow.

"I don't mind, besides I'm about to ask you a million questions anyways" he said smiling his usual cocky smile.

The arrows were sharp and could easily tear through bone and muscle. She took a couple of sharp breaths before shooting at the targets. She always hit the dead center whenever she shot an arrow. It was as if she were born to shoot arrows. "What's your favourite colour?" He asked leaning back against the wall.

"Emerald green" she said shooting another arrow.

"Favourite food?" he asked.

"Easy chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream" she said smirking.

"How tall are you?" he then asked.

"Five foot seven" she shot back.

He smirked to himself. Artemis was really just trying to distract herself from the danger she was in. "Okay what's your greatest fear" he said in a serious tone.

"Disappearing from this world with nobody caring" she said, gaze fixed to the ground.

"I'd miss you if you were gone" he whispered to himself.

"What's your biggest fear?" she asked beginning to shoot at the targets once again.

"Not finding true love. I know it sounds weird but I want to find someone who will love me for who I am" he said with a soft smile.

After his answer she went silent and just continued shooting arrows. Thoughts were flying around inside of her head like a storm and her aim began to waver. She was getting too distracted by her own thoughts that she missed the entire target. "What's on your mind?" He asked looking up from his phone. A growl escaped her lips as she slammed the bow onto it's rack and stormed off.

The manor was quite large but similar to the one she lived in. It was quite easy to find an exit. She ran out of the front door and down the feild towards a garden. The girl just wanted to be alone for awhile. All she needed to do was let her emotions out. A cry escaped her lips as she crumbled to the ground in the middle of the large garden. Her mind was so broken and strained from the amount of stress and fear put on it.

She let it all out as the tears fell from her stormy grey eyes and onto the bright green grass. Anxious and quick footsteps were heard approaching her. Fear immediately began to course through her body. Taking the dagger out of her boot she threw it towards the source of the footsteps. The girl turned around to see Wally with a scared look on his face as the dagger was right beside his head. He had a cut on his cheek, blood poured down but it looked like he hadn't noticed it yet.

She gulped as a few tears fell from her eyes. "Artemis?" He stuttered out while taking a step towards her. She sat there in the grass sobbing. He surprised her by sitting down next to her and suddenly wrapping his arms around her. Almost instantly she clung to him. He ran his fingers through her hair listening to her strained sobs.

"Wally I'm scared that I will die and nobody will care. My father will make it look like an accident and I will die like every other person he has killed. I will die a death of injustice Wally" she sobbed out.

He held her close to his chest running his fingers through her blonde hair. Gently he held her back by her shoulders. His emerald eyes meeting her grey ones ones.

'My favourite colour' she thought as she stared at his eyes.

"Artemis you won't die because I am sure as hell ready to jump in front of a bullet if it means to save you" he said making her heart skip a beat.

"Now come on it's getting dark and I don't want to be out here in the dark because bats fly around" he said standing up and pulling her to her feet.

They walked silently back to the manor as she wiped her wet cheeks. She was so drained and still too anxious and scared to be hungry so she headed upstairs. As soon as she entered the room she took her hair out and looked around for some clothes. There was nothing lying around so she laid down in the clothes she was wearing. Until the door swung open, Dick and Wally walked in like scared little children.

They were dragging blankets behind them and everything. "What are you two doing in here?!" she whispered slightly annoyed.

"For your protection we are to sleep in here until you are sent to Oliver's house" Dick said jumping onto her bed.

"What's with the sleeping in clothes?" Wally asked as his green eyes sparkled in the moonlight.

"I don't have anything to sleep in" she said dryly.

His eyes lit up as he ran away coming back a few minutes later with some clothes. "Here, you can borrow them because I'm not using them" he said handing her red track pants and an oversized yellow T-shirt. She graciously took them and changed. Dick slept at the end of the bed inside of a little birds nest that he made out of blankets. Then there was Wally, this was going to be an issue.

The two of them stared at each other in an awkward silence. "You can sleep next to me just don't make it any awkward than it already is" she said before quickly lying down. He nodded and laid down with his back towards her facing the balcony. Her eyes closed and she felt safe for once in her life.
