Chapter 1

Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Oh shut up you stupid clock!" The angry blonde yelled sitting up. The first day of Highschool is always the hardest considering her reputation. Her father Lawrence Crock was a Mafia leader so they lived great.

Except for the fact of his cruel ways that lead to her mother being paralyzed from the waist down. "Artemis you're going to be late!" Her mother yelled wheeling into her bedroom. "Highschool can suck my ass for all I care" she groaned falling back into her green pillows.

A sudden burst of light entered her bedroom blinding her. "Mom!" She yelled sitting up. "Get. Up. Jade has already left" her mother said before leaving her alone. The blonde groaned standing up and brushing her unruly blonde hair. "The fact that this schools uniform preferences totally suck tell me it's gonna suck" she said to herself toeing her hair into a high ponytail.

Slinging her bag on her back she smirked at herself before leaving. Her father was the leader of a rich Mafia so she had a lot stuff she could do without getting arrested for. Like for example riding her new black slick sports bike to school.

Arriving at this school made her shutter in disgust. "As long as people don't mess with me I'll be fine" she mumbled to herself walking into the school. Everyone avoided her making her smirk to herself. The last school she went to got her kicked out for punching a girls teeth out.

He was reading a comic book about The Flash. He looked over and checked the time. "Crap..." he muttered seeing that he was going to be late. It was the first day and he already going to be late. "Wally! Your friend Richard is here!" his mother yelled causing him to smile. Quickly he put on his uniform and ran down the stairs grabbing a piece of toast.

"You are seriously trying to get detention aren't you" the teen said as they walked outside. Alfred; the teen's butler drove them to school. "Well I have to go to class and you have to go to Guidance. Catch you later" he said walking off.

I ran my hands through my fiery red hair before walking into the bland looking office. "How may I help you?" A perky lady asked smiling brightly. "Yeah um I'm new here so I need my classes sheet and stuff" I said smiling back politely.

"Miss Crock sit down!" A mans voice yelled. "Screw this!" A feminine voice shot back as the office door opened. A beautiful blonde walked out and Wally swore his heart skipped a beat. The way she walked off flipping her hair and rolling her grey eyes. She was perfect.

"Um Mr. West your classes" the lady said waving her hand in his face. He shook his head before thanking her and running out of there to look for that girl. "Just my luck, she's gone" he muttered looking down at his chart. "Science, English, Lunch, Gym and History. Wow these suck" he said while walking down the hallway.

Just as he walked in the teacher turned their head looking at him rather angrily. "Who are you?" He scoffed swiping the sheet off of him. "Ah Mr. West well since there's no seats you can take a seat next to Miss Crock" he said pointing to a girl listening to music in the back corner of the room. Everyone gave him fearful looks as he slowly approached her.

It was the blonde beauty that he saw earlier. "Hi I'm Wally" he said with a friendly smile. She didn't even bat an eye when he spoke she just kept scrolling through her phone. "Hello I'm Wally" he said louder as she stopped scrolling. "Usually when I don't answer you that means that I don't want to talk to you" she said before rolling her eyes.

'Okay now that's just rude.' he thought.

"What's your name?" he asked, ignoring the lesson that the teacher was going over.

"Why does that concern you?" She said with a slight annoyed tone in her voice.

He sighed and instead just stared at her. He noticed her shifting awkwardly making him smirk. "What's your name?" he asked again.

"Why aren't you scared of me?" She asked putting her phone down and glaring at him.

"Should I be?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

"You're an utter idiot and a waste of my time" she said still glaring hard at him. He shook my hand as if he had burnt it. "Ow I actually felt that insult" he said with a sly smile.

"Miss Crock and Mr. West you two will be paired for this assignment" the teacher said handing them sheets of paper.

"Seriously" she muttered, rolling her eyes.

"Is that a bad thing that I'm paired with you?" he asked leaning closer to her.

"Move any closer and I'll hurt you" she said with another sharp glare aimed towards him.

He dared her so he moved a little closer and without her even flinching she stabbed a pencil through his shirt attaching him to the desk. He tugged it out and put it between his ear and hair. "Thanks for the pencil I didn't have any" he said looking at the sheet of paper. She growled. "I could give you another one through your hand" she said under her breath. "So who's house are we doing this at?" he asked pointing the pencil to her.

For a moment he saw fear glazed over her eyes. "Not at my house" she said with venom laced through her voice. "Okay. Well then we can go to mine" he said smiling brightly. Then he wrote his address on a piece of paper. Sliding it over she glanced down and typed it in her phone. "Tomorrow after school will be fine" he then said as the bell rang.

She got up and started walking away as he followed her. "Hey I never actually got your name" he said grabbing her arm. Everyone around them suddenly went pale and ran away. She shook his hand off and walked up to his face. "You really don't know me do you? The names Artemis" she said in a threatening voice before walking away.

English was his next class. He arrived twenty minutes past the bell. "Wow this guy thinks he can be late to my class" the teacher said crossing her arms. "What's your name" she demanded making him freeze in place. "Wally West" he stated looking down embarrassed.

"Sit down next to Miss Morse over there" she said pointing to a red headed girl who smiled and waved at him. Wally walked over and placed his face in his hands once he sat down. "My names Megan what's yours? Well I obviously know your name but it's a first impressions thing duh" she said tapping her head.

"Wally. My names Wally" he mumbled into his hands.

"Well I'm pleased to meet your a acquaintance" she said shaking his hand lightly.

He found her very pretty but not as pretty as Artemis. Just thinking about her took his breath away. "Wally? You spaced out there" she said waving her hand in his face.

"Oh sorry what did you say?" he asked leaning on his hand facing her.

"Well I asked what school you went to before because I didn't see you last year" she said smiling.

She smiled a lot. "Um well I lived further out from Haply Harbor actually I lived in Central City and then moved here a couple months ago" he said as she nodded.

"Well I'm from a small island in the Caribbean island district. I lived with my Uncle until we moved here two years ago" she said looking out the window.

They talked for the rest of class until lunch. He smiled happily and took off towards the Cafeteria or the Cafertorium as they called it here. He got two bowls of spaghetti and a bottle of water. Wally looked around for somewhere to sit and a bunch of girls kept giggling at him when he walked past them. Finally he found Dick, only to sit down with him and sigh.

His best friend looked at him and cracked a smile before beginning to laugh. "Man dude first day hit you pretty hard" he said laughing.

"I agree with you on that" he said eating his food.

He kept talking and when he looked up he noticed that Dick was staring at this girl. "Who you looking at?" he asked raising an eyebrow. A sigh escaped Dick's lips. "Zatanna Zatara, she sits next to me in Mathematics" he said with foolish smile.

"Awe my best bro has a crush" Wally said while lightly punching his arm. He blushed and then took a bite out of his apple.

"Why don't you ask her to sit with us?" Wally asked seeing him start to choke.

"What are you crazy! She'll probably reject me and then it will be super awkward" he said furrowing his eyebrows.

"Hey you'll never know until you ask" Wally said pointing his fork at him.

"Yeah you're right" he said smiling.

The bell rang so he headed to the gym and got changed. Walking out there were many things he could do. Everyone was talking to each other on the other side of the gym. "Heads" a voice said as he quickly ducked. An arrow went whizzing over him and hit a bulls-eye. "Oh it's you" Artemis said spitting it out like it was poisonous.

"Yes it is, bask in all my glory" he said flexing his arms.

"What glory? All I see is a red headed idiot embarrassing himself" she scoffed nocking another arrow into her bow.

He hung around her watching as she hit the middle of every target. "Why are you still here?" She asked not taking her eyes off of the target. A smirk graced his lips. "Because I'm hanging with my friend" he said smirking.

"What friend? I don't see anyone else and I'm definitely not your friend" she scoffed hitting another bulls-eye.

"Hey Crock! Are you done shooting your little arrows?" A girl asked in a snarky tone.

A bunch of other girls surrounded that one girl glaring at Artemis. "Ugh Hilary" Artemis spat aggressively.

"Awe so the little monster knows my name how cute" the Hilary girl said rolling her eyes.

Artemis smirked crossing her arms and glaring hard at the brunette. "The only monster I see right now is you Hilary. Wait what's that I think it's the plastic surgeon calling, he says he wants your implants back" she said before walking away.

The brunette girl yelled and then stomped away with her group following close behind her. "Hey Arty wait up!" he yelled running towards the bleachers where she was now sitting. Her headphones were in and she stared at the ceiling. "It's Artemis" she growled as he sat down. They had five minutes left so he tried to speak to her. "Why are you still annoying me?" She huffed standing up.

"Cause I can, gotta a problem?" he said now standing in front of her.

He liked a challenge and she definitely was one. "Get out of my face now" she hissed. He placed his hands on his hips glaring hard at her. "Nope" he said still not moving.

"You clearly don't know me" she hissed brushing past his harshly.

His shoulder hurt quite a bit after that. Wally had History next and the teacher was actually nice to him. Wally took a seat next to this really buff looking guy. He had short black hair and no apparent emotion on his face. "My names Wally, yours is?" he asked looking at him. The boy turned his head. A blank stare in his eyes. "Conner." He replied dryly.

"Okay then Conner nice to meet you" he said smiling nervously.

He just nodded looking straight ahead. Conner didn't talk much so he just sat there counting down the minutes for school to end.

Ring! Ring!

Everyone bolted out of the classroom. Wally hadn't been to his locker until now and it was very unnerving. The locker door next to his slammed closed to reveal Artemis again. "Oh it's you" she scoffed.

"I have a name, it's Wally" he said as she rolled her grey eyes.

"May I ask why nobody else uses the lockers in this area?" he asked making her purse her lips.

"Me that's why" and with that she walked away with her bag hoisted over her shoulder.

"Damn she's hot" he said to himself.

"You're a pervert!" She yelled before flipping him off.

Wally smirked and then met Dick at the from doors. The dark haired teen smirked evilly as he dragged Wally into the limo. "Video game time!" He said making him laugh. This was the weirdest first day of school yet!
