Playdates
-Writing just to procrastinate my socials project. I got stuck researching and writing 80% of it. The kicker? My project partners are my two best friends-
Iris and Barry had talked about the crisis yesterday, and decided that they wouldn't handle the situation until Wally was back to his usual self, so as to avoid any dramatics while he was in such a vulnerable state.
But in the meantime, At least Wally was safe with them. He'd woken up that morning in a good mood, and had spent most of the morning playing in the yard with the garden hose. Legend has it the grass hadn't been so hydrated in years.
Iris loved Wally, and she loved children in general, so when Oliver Queen called up and asked is Wally was difficult enough to warrant a playdate, they'd eagerly agreed.
"But Robin's a baby!" Artemis complained, they were on route to the West-Allan household, and she'd just been told that Bruce wanted Barry's update of the kid's tests, and would be bringing his kid too.
"He's only two years younger than you." Oliver told her.
"But he's little!" She pouted. She wanted to play, and to Artemis, Playing was tackling and punching, and playing pretend, and fighting. She didn't want to play with a baby!
"So are you."
"No I'm not." She slumped against the backseat. She had to sit on a few folded blankets since they didn't have a car seat.
"Alright, here we are." Oliver helped her out of the car, walking the Toddler to the door.
After a few seconds, a woman opened the door. "Hey, Is this Artemis?" Iris squealed, she almost never got to meet Wally's friends Artemis nodded a little. "Come on in, you two, we're just in the kitchen.
The Kids immediately ran off to the livingroom, barely saying hello. Leaving Barry, Iris and Oliver in the kitchen. "Morning." The speedster remarked. "Coffee?"
"Sure." Oliver took the invited seat at the kitchen table. "I see that you two are coping."
His colleague laughed a little. "As well as we can with the world's fastest three year old."
"Be glad you weren't stuck with the world's sassiest three year old." The archer thanked Iris, taking the coffee. "Everyone's fine until a toddler tells you that you look like a human match stick."

Wally rushed to the kitchen as soon as he heard the bats arrive. Bruce almost tripped over him. The redhead couldn't help it, he wanted to see Dick. "Where is he?" He asked, bouncing around Bruce's legs. "I want to see him!"
"Wally, leave him alone." Barry called, pulling his nephew back. "I'm sure you'll get a chance to say hello the Dick."
"Wally!" Artemis whined, he'd just left mid-game! "Come back!"
"Robin's here!" He told her.
"But he's a baby!" She groaned. "C'mon let's play!"
"Wait." Wally watched as Bruce sat down and declined the offer of coffee, Sitting Dick up on his lap so the child could look around at his surroundings.
"C'mon!" Artemis yanked on Wally's arm. The redhead reluctantly followed her back to the livingroom so they could keep play-fighting.
"Hi Dick." Iris grinned, leaning over to the boy's height. Her affectionate voice made Dick smile back. She pet his hair a little, and turned to Bruce. "So how's your weekend going?"
"Alright." He said, protectively adjusting his grip on the baby.
"You... having any trouble with Dickie?" Barry asked. Bruce had no right to be acting this much like Bats without the cowl.
"Not really." Bruce lied. "Barbara and Alfred can watch him while I'm busy.
"Uh- He's got an unfair advantage!" Oliver objected. "He has two potential babysitters already lined up."
"As do you."
"Nope. Roy doesn't count. and Dinah is helping at the mountain." He sipped his coffee.
Bruce ignored this and turned his attention to Barry. "Do you have results from your tests?"
"Uhh... yeah. I promised I wouldn't bring work home this year, but..."
Iris poured herself some green tea, and leaned on the counter. "He wanted to avoid watching Wally."
"I didn't!" He protested playfully. "We just need to get them back to normal before Wally's parents start trying to get their child back. One second." He sped off to get his samples.
"It took you three seconds." Oliver told the speedster as he returned. "Dirty liar."
"OH NO." Barry said sarcastically, setting his work down on the table."It took a little longer, because we needed to get control samples for the non-human kids."
"So do you have results?" Bruce asked impatiently, he wanted to sleep again, something he couldn't really do with a baby in the house. Dick turned around on his lap to face him, and made grabby hands. Bruce picked the boy up, holding Dick against his chest.
"Uh, sort of. I found a few inconsistencies in the human kids. I'll need to get new blood and urine samples for Dick and Artemis because they had drastically different results... Are either of yours on medication?"
Bruce started listing off the list of medication's Dick had taken in the past thirty days, when they were interrupted.
Iris looked down to see the little blonde girl tugging her leg.
"Artemis, is something up?" Ollie asked.
Artemis didn't say a word, just stared down and tugged at Iris's leg shyly. "I guess I'm going." The woman remarked, setting down her mug and letting the girl guide her away into the hall. Artemis stopped and looked up at her timidly. "Can I Help you?"
"I want a snack?" The little girl asked quietly, almost so quiet that Iris had to lean in.
"A snack? Of course, I'll get one for you guys." She assured.
"Thank'ou." Artemis said quickly, scurrying back to the livingroom.
Iris watching the girl go, Smiling, and returned to the kitchen.
"What was that about?" Her husband asked.
"Oh she was just hungry, that's all."
Oliver sighed. "I'm so sorry. She isn't usually like that. I don't know why she wouldn't just tell me..."
"It's fine. She was just a bit shy." Iris recounted. "Let me assure you: it's no trouble. She's a total angel."
Oliver snorted a little. "You haven't Seen her with Roy..."
"Oh, Roy." Barry remarked. "How are the two of them doing?"
"This morning they had a full war over whether Artemis could have Roy's cereal. She didn't want to eat his cereal, she just wanted the ability to have it." Ollie explained. "and that's just ONE of their pointless fights this morning..."

Bruce ended up giving Barry a grocery list of the meds Dick had taken, including the painkillers from his last Robin-related injury.
Barry didn't know how to tell them that there were traces of Weed, specifically edibles, in Artemis' urine. It got very awkward, very quickly, as the adults either defended or refuted this.
Oliver had no clue what meds Artemis was on, and hoped that the weed reading might be a false positive. He had to Call Artemis' Mother to ask what meds she was on, all without telling her why Artemis couldn't come home yet, or getting lynched over the phone.
The others sat there awkwardly as he stepped out to do that. Iris put on some more tea, wondering if the kids were done their snack yet.
Wally jogged in, leaning in the doorway. "Can Dick play?" He asked. "Please?"
Dick had tilted his head around to see where the voice came from. He saw Wally and his face lit up. They looked to Bruce, who sighed. "Just for a few minutes." He relented, Walking Dick to the livingroom before setting him down.
Dick didn't cry when Bruce left the room, he was too excited to see his friends. Bruce returned hesitantly to the kitchen and moved his chair over so he could watch them through the doorway. If he heard even a second of crying, he'd run in there to take Dick back.
Artemis wasn't happy at first that Wally had brought Robin in. "We can't play with him!" She told Wally. "He's too little!"
The speedster disagreed, pulling Dick up onto the couch. "He can be Batman."
"But he can't fight! He can't talk!"
"Batman doesn't need to talk." Wally explained. "We just pretend that he's scary."
Artemis thought this over, pouting, but she couldn't find an issue. "Okay. He can be Batman, I'll be Green Arrow." She affirmed, even though they'd already been playing Justice League for about ten minutes. "You still be Flash."

Oliver had barely finished his call with Paula, when his phone started blowing up.
"You're popular."
"It's Dinah." He said. "...And Clark, I think they're trying to get me to pick sides on something."
"What?" Bruce asked, League disputes weren't as common as you'd think, especially since both parties were supposed to be babyproofing the mountain today. What kind of disputes happen while babyproofing?
"Something about Superboy, I think." Oliver couldn't even keep up with the texts as he got them. Seemed both sides wanted to vent to him. "uuhhh... Okay, Clark was supposed to be watching SB for an hour- Shh!" He muted his phone, since the incoming messages kept interrupting him. "Okay, so Clark was supposed to be watching Superboy, and he through a tantrum so Clark yelled at him... or because Clark yelled at him? It could go either way..."
